“As per the sources, it is clear that someone is forming an army of the newly shifted vampires by killing the humans and turning them into vampires.”, Elder Alaric commented.
“In fact, I find out that whoever is doing this has a gift of controlling anyone’s mind except those who are having shield as their gift.”, My biological father commented.
“That’s bad news.”, Elder Ambrosia said, shaking her head. “None of the vampires we know have this gift.”, she added and then looked at me. “What’s your gift?”
“I can freeze the time.”
“Just freeze?”, She asked, arching her eyebrows.
“As for now, I can just freeze the time for now, but Silas said that there are a lot of things that I could learn.”
“Indeed.”, Elder Alaric said. “You can rewind the time; you can time travel both in the past and in the future. In fact, you can remove someone’s existence from the future by killing them in the past.”, he added. “Seems like she is the favorite creation of mother Selene, born with both the powers of vampires and Lycan.”
‘Who is Mother Selene?’ I asked Silas.
‘Moon Goddess and Mother Selene are the same people.’, he responded.
“Elder Orpheus…” Elder Ambrosia started speaking when he cut him in between.
“I know what are you thinking, Elder Ambrosia. But at the same time, I want to make this very clear that I am just her father because my blood runs in her vein. Rather than this, I can ask or expect any help from her in the name of DAUGHTER because everyone knows that I was never there for her as a father. And I hadn’t forgotten how everyone went against me when I wanted to claim a human as my mate. You didn’t want her mother, so don’t expect anything from her daughter.”, he said in a dead calmy tone. He had an aura around him that was quite intimidating. And for some reason, I really like the attitude of my biological father. He didn’t talk much, but I got to know that he always cared for me, and at the same time, he was guilty for not being there with my mom or me.
“Evangeline, right?” Elder Alaric said, gaining my attention to him from my father. “I don’t know whether you will help us or not, but you need to hear me out. There is a psycho vampire out there who is killing innocent humans, then converting them into those vampires who are dangerous for human clans as well as for werewolves clans. Obviously, they won’t think of drinking blood from the werewolves, but yes, they have been killing them, but the unnecessary reason as their mind has been controlled by some psycho vampire.”
“So?” I asked nonchalantly. “That’s not my responsibility to protect each and every werewolf out there. What do you I am? Mother Teressa?” I asked sarcastically.
“No. You’re not that great, but….” Elder Ambrosia’s cold voice was cut by Vincent.
“They’re coming.”, Vincent said.
“Where?”, My biological father asked quickly.
“I’m not sure.”, Vincent said, rubbing his temple. “But they have a large army, and their leader is a woman.”
“Did you see her face?” Elder Alaric asked, on which Vincent shook his head. “Whoever she is, she will end up becoming queen by controlling everyone’s mind.”, he added.
“Vincent saw the glimpse of the future, but whose’s future did he see?” Elder Ambrosia asked, looking at the face of everyone who was sitting there.
“Instead of panicking. It will be better if we start training our army to protect the Coven. Along with that, we have to stand by each other’s back and since she has the power to control the mind. We have to start looking for the vampire who has the gift of the shield.”
“I’m sorry to interrupt but won’t Vampire King will help in sorting out this issue?” I asked, wondering why the king wasn’t doing anything on this issue.
“He won’t help at this moment because even though that psycho is breaking all the laws and is killing innocent humans but at the same time, she is also killing the werewolves. And this is what he wants, i. e., someone who can destroy his enemy, and in case the werewolf king will demand anything, then he can raise his hand in surrender innocently. And by not helping us, he can easily prove that even he had to suffer the loss”, Vincent explained.
“That sick bastard.”, I snarled. “Isn’t he the hybrid himself?”
“He is. But at the same time, werewolves had killed his mother by burning her into the sunlight.”, My biological father responded this time.
Okay! That explained his hatred for werewolves.
But this was insane.
“I will help.”, I muttered. Whoever was coming could either come at this Coven or, worst, my packs.
“You don’t have to. We can handle it.”, Vincent said.
“Maybe you can, but at the same time, I don’t want to lose any members of my new family.”, I said, smiling at him.
“If she will participate in the upcoming war, then Vincent, you must teach her how to time travel because we might not have the power of shied, but by time travel, she can go back in the time and stop that psycho woman from converting into a vampire.”, Elder Alaric said on which Vincent nodded while my biological father was looking at me keenly and maybe thinking something hard.

Fourteen days. Fourteen freaking days since I last saw my mate. If I would say that I missed him like hell and cried for him, then that would be nothing but a lie. But his absence was driving Ivory and me crazy. She wanted to be in her mate in his arms. And I couldn’t agree more.
No amount of nonstop training could take my mind off him.
I didn’t know that being the advantage of vampire blood was that I didn’t feel sleepy even for a while. I trained myself on my skills 24*7; along with that, I studied the books in which everything was explained how these powers were used by the vampires with these powers.
It was also written that only one vampire could stay alive with that unique power. In short, as long as I was alive, no other vampire could share my powers until and unless he or she was blood-related.
Ivory had a little amount of power to cloak herself because of our father’s gift. She wasn’t pro like him but couldn’t hide herself and my vampire scent.
‘You have chosen this stupid place to stay where your phone doesn’t have the network.’, Ivory whined because it had been since two days since Diana updated last about him and everyone in the family. I was glad that everyone there was absolutely fine, but I couldn’t believe Diana when she said that Daniel was completely fine without us.
That was something that I couldn’t digest.
Mate bond would have been affecting him as well. So, he might be hiding his real feelings from everyone.
That’s why I sent Silas to figure out the truth secretly. I came to know about him that he was a great spy.
Talking about my stay here in Coven, I came to know that staying with vampires was not that bad. At least, not when you are the daughter of Clan Elder; I couldn’t say the same for the human pets. My bond with Vincent became great these days because he helped me with my training, but I couldn’t say the same about my biological father. Ivory could smell the scent of guilt and pain from him, but neither she nor I pointed out the real reason behind it.
Was it because of the things that happened in the past?
Well, Ivory doubted that it seemed like he was hiding something. Along with him, a vampire who used to stay all the time, Blade. I came to know that he was the second son of his, who had the power to read the mind.
Maybe he would have read my mind as well, but I was not afraid of that because I knew that I was the same inside and out. If I would hate you, then I would say the same to your face. I wondered how did anyone act sweet and innocent and had hatred in their heart or vice-versa.
‘When are we returning back? I miss him.’, Ivory said when she realized that I was thinking a lot of things instead of practicing with my powers. I must say she never picked the topic of a mate during my training time. It was me who used to miss him all the time.
I knew we didn’t have enough memories except for our argument, but I missed that too. All this time, I had enough time to contemplate my feelings for him. I now knew that what I felt for him was not because Ivory was in love with her mate but somewhere felt the same for him. Maybe the procedure became faster because we were sort of werewolves, but I was now sure of my feelings. And this fact was somewhere scaring me as well; what if…what if he would use my feeling against me?
I didn’t want to be a doll who would dance on his will.
I needed him to love me just like Roman did.
‘You miss him too. Then why are you torturing all of us?’ Ivory asked.
‘Because I’m scared to trust him again.’
‘But at the same time, you will have to trust him. I’m sure he would repeat the same mistake twice.’
‘But…
‘Just think what will we get if we will trust him again?’, She asked on which I didn’t say anything. ‘His love, stupid. His never-ending for us. Can’t you take a risk for that chance, hmm? It’s a complicated world. People have a hard time finding love, and when they do… they’re scared to take the risk. That’s unfair. If there’s even a slight chance of getting his love in return, then risk it. Life’s too short, and happiness is too rare.’
‘Fine! Fine! Stop your philosophy now. I will return to him today, okay?’
‘Yayy! I’m going to see my mate’s wide naked chest.’, She howled in joy, and I just shook my head at her perverted thought.
‘There’s someone who can listen to us, you know.’
‘So, what? It’s not like we are doing sex maths over here!’, She huffed. Immediately my body tensed. But it had nothing to do with Ivory. ‘I think it’s Silas.’, Ivory commented because right now, only his emotions could affect us as we were still not marked by our mate or linked with pack members yet.
‘But we will soon be.’, Ivory said.
I ignored her for a while and mind-linked Silas, ‘Are you all right?’
‘Shit!’
‘Are you alright? What’s happening there? Where are you?’
‘Thank you, Tigress, for mind linking me at the right time. Because for a while, I felt like I was getting controlled by someone. What if I would have ended up bu=lurting something that I should have?’
‘At first, stop worrying about that part and quickly run somewhere away from there into the sunlight and close your eyes.’, I directed, and he quickly did that. I knew he was way smarter than me, but it was just no one had dealt with such a powerful psycho before who had the power to control minds. “Now tell me, where are you?”
‘In the human world as of now. And you won’t believe me when I will tell you something.’
‘And what is it?’
‘Silas? Silas? Shit!’, It seemed like Silas had disappeared from another side.
I closed my eyes and focused on the rewind the time. Finally, Silas was standing in front of me with a questioned look, “You want me to give you the news of your mate’s condition, don’t you?” he asked to reconfirm. The same question that he had asked in the morning.
But unlike morning, I changed my answer, “No. Leave it. I will handle that on my own.”
“So, you’re returning to your mate?”
“Is that even a question?” I asked, arching my eyebrow.
“No. Absolutely not. I can assume that mate bond is affecting you, and that’s why you need to return back to your mate before you lose your mind.”, he said in an understanding tone. But deep down, I was worried for him.
Was he going to get kidnapped?
And what did he find out because of which someone was following him?
“What happened? You’re tensed.”
“Because I’m tensed.”, I responded and told him everything.
“You have got great power, Tigress! By your power, you can know what is going to happen in the future, and you can forbid that from happening.”, he praised. “But at the same time, what will we do if you will be in her control?”
“As for now, I don’t know the answer to that question, but I’m sure you that I needed to check on my mate first.”
“And I’m coming with you.”, Silas added. “I smell like a human. No one will mind me staying near you or with you, to be exact.”
“You got to be kidding me? My mate has a trust issue, and after two weeks, if I will return to his home with a man by my side, then he will surely think that something is cooking between us.”, I exclaimed.
“I personally feel that if your mate can’t trust you, then he doesn’t deserve you.”, Silas said, on which Ivory growled at him, but I couldn’t say a word about it because a part of me knew that he was right. Getting jealous and possessive was another thing, but accusing was totally a different thing.
‘He should learn to trust us, Ivory, and even you know that I’m right about that part.’ Ivory couldn’t help herself from agreeing with me.
“Okay.”, I nodded and picked Silas in my arms.
“What the hell?” he screamed like a girl.
“Well, you’re going to act like a human, then you will have to behave like one, and trust me, they don’t have superhuman speed. So, I need to carry you in my arms so that others will think that I brought you in my arms.”
“Wow! What a picture!” Vincent commented, looking at us and grinning widely.
“I hate you both!” Silas yelled.
“Vincent…”
“You don’t have to say anything. I have already seen that coming. I’m here to warn you that a woman with a long black jacket is dangerous for you in your packhouse.”
“Did you see the face?”
“Not exactly.”
“Oh, okay. Thank you for the lead.”, Saying this, I ran at my superhuman speed to reach back to my mate and was shocked to see the pack getting decorated as if it was someone’s wedding or something.
Once I entered the home, I put Silas back on his feet and looked around. Everyone was in their rooms, and not for long; one by one, everyone started opening the door of their room, sensing my scent.
“Sister-in-law,” Nora screamed and ran toward me, but her gown was stuck in her heels, halting her from running.
“Eva!” Mom smiled, looking at me and hugging me dearly.
“Good to see you back.”, Dad said, caressing my hair.
“I’m so happy to see you here.”, After mom, Diana hugged me. She had worn an off-shoulder white gown, almost like a wedding gown. Was she getting married? If yes, then why didn’t she tell me so?
‘Because she had no way to reach you, idiot.’
“I didn’t want to attend my Luna ceremony with you by my side. I’m so happy that you’re finally here.” My breath hitched when she mentioned, ‘LUNA CEREMONY.’ I was Daniel’s mate, right?
‘Not WAS, but you’re still his mate.’, Ivory corrected me.
“Luna ceremony?” I asked in confusion, clouding my mind. When she was marked by Stephen, then how was this possible that she was going to be Luna?
“Yes! Stephen had challenged that Alpha of Fire Cross pack, and he won the duel, so everyone suggested getting all these rituals done before taking the responsibilities of the pack.”, Diana explained, and that was the moment; I sighed in relief, knowing that my mate was still mine.
“You got scared, didn’t you?” Nora asked, teasing me a little.
“Of course not!” I responded, shaking my head. I knew she was going to tease me a little more, so I beat her by inducting Silas with everyone.
“Mom, dad!! He is a good friend of mine, and I want him to stay here for a while. I hope you guys have no problem with that.”
“But Eva…we just can’t allow outsiders to stay in the pack. On the top, a human shouldn’t know about us. I don’t know what to say now. You have already brought him here. Dan will definitely get mad at fact.”, Mom said, shaking her head.
I looked at Dad. “I’m not the Alpha of the pack, Eva. So Dan’s decision will be final.”, he responded. “By the way, how long will he take….”
Immediately the smell of fresh mint hit my nose, and I realized that he was here; and by smelling the scent of shampoo and shower gel, I could say that he had just taken a fresh bath. His quick steps were telling me that Roman had sensed my presence, and they were eager to meet me.
Well, he was not the only one who was excited.
I was equally excited and nervous. And that’s when our eyes met. I could see Roman was fighting for control, and happiness was dancing in his eyes. Immediately he snifted and then narrowed his eyes when it landed on Silas. His steps were now more fast than before. I hope he was not running like a maniac to hit him because I wouldn’t let him do that. And the next I knew that his lips were slammed against mine hungrily.
God! Couldn’t this man see that we were surrounded by his family members?
I tried to push him, but his grip on me tightened around my waist, and Ivory was not at all helping with her strength to push him away. I could smell the scent of other people fading except Silas, seemed like they wanted to give us some privacy.

I looked carefully and realized that it was Roman who had kissed me. His possessive wolf.
“Roman, Can Silas stay here for a while?” I asked him softly, on which he furrowed his eyes. “Please?”
“You don’t need to take permission. You’re my Luna, my equal. You can make the decision on your own.”, This was Daniel who responded.
I would be trying if I wouldn’t say that my eyes popped out like a switch from the socket after hearing this. What had happened to him?
Was he started planning against me again?
