Daniel’s POV

“Forgive him and let him take advantage of the mate bond?”
I wanted to answer that part, but Roman didn’t let me speak and kept me in the backseat of the mind because, at this moment, he couldn’t trust me and my choice of words.
“That idiot forgot the fact that mate bonds affect both the mates. Moreover, I knew that we couldn’t handle your submissive type behavior because you look freaking hot whenever you’re bossy.”
‘Seriously? Is this the time to say all these things?’
‘At least she is listening to me. In your cases, she was ready to reject both of us.’, He restored.
“You’re lying. He wants someone who will keep saying YES to his orders.”
“Trust me, Mate. No matter how much he denies it, he loves the fire in you. He loves it whenever you fight back against him without getting scared of him. He loves it when you care for him even though you’re mad at him.”
‘Are you going to tell her everything?’
‘If required? Then YES. Honestly and openness always leads to a successful relationship.’
Angel shook her head again before speaking. “You’re sweet, Roman, but Moon goddess made a mistake by pairing us because I’m not what you think!”
“Trust me; you are sexy!”
She chuckled, hearing him, and a small smile broke on her lips. “I’m not talking about my figure.”, She paused before continuing. “Remember the conversation which we were having in the room before something important came up?”, She asked, on which he nodded his head; after all, he was in my mind. “I wanted to share something about me.”
“What’s it?”
She didn’t answer my question just came closer to me at her superhuman speed.

“Half-vampire!”, She completed the sentence, cutting him in between. “I know werewolves hate us.”, She added on her own. “That’s why it will be better if we rejec..”
“I don’t care if you’re a half-vampire or full. We both want you as our mate.”
“Can you give control to your human?”, She asked, on which Roman reluctantly gave control to me. He wasn’t sure that the conversation between us was going to be a healthy one. “I’m leaving, Daniel.”
As soon as she said those words, I took a sharp intake of breath.
What did she mean by leaving?
Was she rejecting us?
No! If she had to, then she would have to use the word ‘REJECT’ instead of LEAVE. She was staring at me, waiting for me to say something, but I was in deep thought. I was taking my own time to absorb her decision.
“Where?”
“To my coven.”, She responded.
Coven. Now that I knew she was half-vampire. I could understand her to answer still, why was she accepting that darkness?
First of all, how could she be half-vampire?
“Is it important to go there?” I asked to know the reason behind her decision.
“Yes!”, She kept her answer short, and because of it, I couldn’t figure out the reason why she was going there.
“What is the name of your coven?” I asked indirectly so that I could drag her back if she was planning to leave forever.
“I can’t share that information with you because I don’t trust you.”
This was not the answer which I was expecting. Now I didn’t have the power to ask anything else from her, did I?
‘Thanks to you for everything.’, Roman growled.
I was already feeling guilty, and Roman’s words were not helping at all. My…Our mate was standing just at the distance of a single step, but I had pushed her a far away from me by my activity.
“Bye!”, She said. I wanted to stop her, but I knew I couldn’t change her mind if she had already decided something.
Before I could even open my voice, she left.
Damn it!
I so hate vampires’ superhuman speed.
‘Even I’m leaving.’, Roman growled.
‘Great. Just Great. Leave me. You all can leave me. I don’t want anyone in my life.’, I shouted at him.
‘Dare you to talk to me like that. Whatever is happening with you is because of your own fault.’
‘I agree with that, but at the same time, there is something called ‘SECOND CHANCE.’ She just left god knows where without saying anything. Fuck! I don’t even know whether she will come back or not. We are mates, for moon goddess’ sake.’, I said, getting frustrated.
‘You’re an asshole for sure! I wondered why Moon Goddess even paired me with you. Didn’t you observe her words? She left because she had something important to do. Not once did she mention that she was leaving us forever. In fact, she couldn’t because of the mate bond. I’m sure she will come back to us after completing whatever important thing she had. So, stop assuming and start trusting. If not on others, then at least on our mate.”, Roman roared in anger before blocking me.
‘Roman?’ I didn’t call his name again when I realized that he was furious at me.
But he was right! She said that she didn’t trust me, but never did she mention that things were OVER between us. She never said that she would never come back. Maybe she needed some time or something. And at the same time, I also need time to plan how to make it up to her and how to earn her Trust again.
Until then, I had to bear my punishment. Only Moon goddess knew that for how long I wasn’t going to hear her voice, for how long I wasn’t going to see her, for how long I wasn’t going to fight or argue with her, for how long I wasn’t going to touch her or feel her. But guess what I deserved it!
“Brother?” Stephen knocked on the door before coming inside Nora’s room. “I had to talk about something very important.”
“Go ahead.”
“My wolf sensed sister-in-law’s scent coming from the rouge’s dead body. I know this will sound strange, but all the things indicate that she…she might have held one of them in her arms.”, My jaw tightened when I heard that, but at the same time, I could imagine that she might have held him only because she would be thirsty for blood.
“Does anyone else know about it?” I asked.
“No. I don’t think anyone else is familiar with her scent except Diana and me.”
Diana! She was Angel’s bestfriend.
Did she know about Angel’s identity?
“Hmm! Keep this fact to yourself. By the way, dad told me that you were coming with your mate in the evening, then how come you both this early?” I asked.
“Yes! The plan was to return by the end of the day, but Diana received a call from sister in law around an hour ago, and suddenly she changed the plan.”, He responded.
So! Her best friend had an idea of what she was and where she might have gone! This only thought gave me relief.
‘Please come soon, Angel.’
