Today was a day to remember.
I knew she wanted to come along, but I didn’t let her. I still couldn’t believe that Daniel spent his whole day with me without fighting with me. I got all my belongings from the apartment before leaving for the pack.
If her destiny were with me, Moon Goddess would show her a way to reach me again.
“So, tell me more about you.” Daniel initiated the conversation while driving. “What do you use to do in the human world?”
“I’m a Martial Art Trainer. And I’m planning to continue it.”, I confessed.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”, I said calmly. “I will be continuing my work even after marriage.”, The color of his knuckles on the steering wheel turned white because of anger.
“And don’t you think you should have discussed it with me before taking this decision?” he asked, controlling his anger, but his voice and the car’s aura were screaming that he was PISSED.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he broke the steering wheel in anger.
‘Don’t start the argument. Try to handle it calmly. And things go out of the way then just stop talking.’, Ivory said before I could have opened my mouth.
‘Okay!’
“Yes, I should have discussed it with you before taking this decision.”
“But you didn’t.”
“I’m sorry. This topic slipped from my mind because of the beautiful day we spent together.”, My tone softened. I knew it would help him in calming his anger.
“But why do you even need to talk when you had already decided on your own? You wanted to show that my suggestion didn’t matter to you, and you wouldn’t change your mind at any cost.”
“I will change my mind if you suggest something better than that.”
“You will?”, Immediately, his tone softened.
“I will, and I promise you that I will consider your opinion if you suggest something better than this, Dan.”, I said truthfully.
“Then just quit this job. I don’t want my mate to do some low-level job.”, he said, just like I had expected.
“Okay! And in which way is this option good for me? Besides, no work is small or big. The thing which is small or big is people’s mindset. If an Alpha should appreciate the work of Beta, and he should also appreciate the work of Omega.”
“You are trying to argue with me?” he asked, arching his eyebrow.
“No. not. We are discussing. A friendly debate, you can say that. If you win, I promise I won’t think of continuing the job.”
“Okay then! When I mentioned ‘some low-level job,’ I meant to say that you are Luna now. That kind of work didn’t suit your status. Moreover, what is the need of working then I can provide you everything, all you have to do is SAY.”
“Hmm. How did you feel when you found out when I bought something for you?”
“We were discussing, right?”
“I’m coming to that point. Now tell me, how did you feel at that moment?”
“I…I loved that expected surprise.”
“I was able to do that because I was earning.”, I pointed out. “I’m not stopping you from doing anything you include in the responsibility of the mate or husband, but at the same time, I want to do something for you too with the money which I have earned from my hard work.”, I explained.
“But I will love more if you enjoy the lifestyle of a Queen, and I don’t want my mate to do any hard work.”, He said and held my hand, kissing my knuckles.
“Even I want to say the same, but you see, you can’t abandon your Alpha duties for your mate, can you??” I questioned. “Even I want to treat my mate like the king he is.”
“Angel, you’re not getting my words. I meant to say that I want you to stay at home and enjoy all the privileges you deserve. Can’t you do that for me? Just like I tried to change a little for you?”
“I appreciate the effort you made for me, and I will do the same, trust me.” I paused before continuing, “I have stayed all my life like an independent woman, Dan. You can’t expect me to change in one day. I’m a human, not a chameleon.” I explained.
He didn’t say anything for a while.
Maybe he was thinking something hard to convince me.
But I smiled, knowing that he would give in to my next masterstroke. “At least give me some time, six months or something. And who knows, after that time, I will be thinking of quitting my work and shifting my focus on family planning.”
“Family planning?” he asked to confirm whether he heard it right or not.
“I mean, yeah! We can think of that if things work out between us. Also, I doubt that your wolf can wait till six months.”
“That’s true.”, he chuckled. “He wanted me to stop the car and fuck you, right here and right now.”
My eyes widened, and I couldn’t imagine the shade of my cheeks right now.
Did he need to say those words that loud?
‘Though I loved his wolf’s idea.”, Ivory purred. ‘I’m already ready, and I’m sure our mate is also ready.’
‘But I’m not.’, I reminded her, on which she growled.
“So, will you let me work now?”
“Are you taking my permission?”
“Well, you can think like that.”
“And what if I will say NO.”
“Then I will keep convincing you until you say YES.”
“And what if there will be a forever NO then?”
“And I can’t stay with a person who doesn’t want to take a step in this new relationship and is expecting me to cover all the distance all my own. If we are opposites, we both have to walk toward one another. Just because I’m the female here doesn’t mean it’s my responsibility.”, I said in a pissed tone. Either this or others, he would have to agree with my decision.
“Okay, then you can work!!” he agreed reluctantly.
“I can sense your displeasure about my work.”
“Because I’m not happy about it. And Even Roman didn’t like going someone else to work.”, he grumbled.
“If that is so, then why don’t you let me train the female of the packs.”
“You got to be kidding me. They are to handle the household works, not to become the warrior of the pack.”
“Then you’re a mistake, Mister. The strongest warrior in the world is the mother, a female. And they are the one who gives birth to arrogant jerks like you who consider them as someone who is just who are born to handle household works.”
“Thank you for the compliment. But getting their mate hurt is the last thing any werewolf wants.”
“But at the same time, their mate should let them train and have the basic training if anything goes wrong.”
“They won’t agree to it.”
“Then what are you for? You are the Alpha of the pack. I’m sure they will follow any order passed by you.”
“Here we are!”, He said, stopping the car in front of the packhouse.
“This topic is not over yet.”, I reminded him on which he rolled his eyes. We started walking toward the packhouse together, and everyone greeted us by bowing their head.
“MATE,” I heard a loud growl of someone. Immediately Daniel’s arms wrapped around me, pulling me close. What the hell was that?
“MINE,” Daniel growled.
Was I the mate of someone else too?
I looked toward and found Stephen under his wolf’s control and was looking straight at me.
‘Ivory?’
‘We have only one mate, sweetheart. And guess what? We are already in his arms.’, She said calmly.
“Mate,” Stephen growled at me again.
“Don’t tell me that the mate of my younger brother is the wife of my elder brother?” Nora said in confusion, and immediately Daniel growled at her. I held his arms, trying to calm him down because he looked murderous and was ready to kill anyone.
“SHE IS MY WIFE AS WELL AS MY MATE.”, Daniel announced in an animalistic tone, clearly showing that his wolf was on the surface.
“She is your mate?” Mom asked, but Daniel didn’t reply anything to her.
“Roman? Answer the question. Is she your fated mate? Because if not, then we can divor….”
“MINE.”, Roman growled, glaring at his father. “She. Is. Mine.”, he said, stressing every word.
“So, does she have two mates?” Aunt Emma asked in confusion.
“I’m not sharing my mate with ANYONE. Not even with my BROTHER.”, Roman announced, pulling me closer to him and trying to hide me from Stephen.
“She is not my mate.”, Stephen said when his wolf the control back to him. “If that can be the case, that will have happened on the first day when she came here. And also, it’s not that I have turned eighteen today.” he paused before taking a deep breath. “But…her clothes.. her clothes are driving me crazy. My wolf is telling me that it has my mate’s scent.”
“Ooo,” Everyone expressed change hearing Stephen’s explanation, but Roman/Daniel had still locked me in his arms, unsure of what was coming.
“Who were you with today?” Stephen asked, coming closer toward me.
“She was with me at the amusement park throughout the day.”, Romas replied instead of me.
“You went to the amusement park?” Nora asked, slapping her hand on her mouth.
“There could be many people over there. How can you find your mate among those people?” Mom asked.
“If her smell is coming from sister-in-law’s clothes, then I’m sure that she might have hugged her or sat close to her.”, He reasoned out.
“Nope. No girl came near her or even hugged her. I was with her throughout the time.”, Roman/Daniel replied again instead of me.”
“Sister-in-law?” Stephen looked at me hopefully as if he was expecting I might know something about her mate, but I had no right about whose his mate could be because I had hugged only one person throughout the day, and she was…
“Didn’t you hear me? Now, stay away from my mate.”, Daniel said, crushing me in his arms.
“I think I know about his mate.”, I said, running my hand on his back, trying to calm him down. I wasn’t mad at him for behaving like a cave dweller because werewolves were born possessive of their mate.
“Who?”, Both of them asked at the same time.
“Diana.”
