Evangeline’s POV
.
“Now, tell me everything that happened in the last two days.”, Diana said once we were away from the apartment.
“It started from a phone call…”; saying this, I narrated everything to her until now except my moment with Daniel, whether it was a romantic one or an ugly one. “This was it.”
“This is it?”, She asked, raising her eyebrow.
“Yes, this is it.”, I responded.
“When you had to hold Lily’s hand to stop her from attacking your mate. We both had seen her eyes changing for just a while.”, She said, and my eyes widened in shock. “But we couldn’t sense your wolf. How was that possible, Eva?”, She asked, eyeing me suspiciously.
I averted my eyes and started picking milk, fresh bread, and other things.
“Eva..”, She called my name, waiting for y answer.
I sighed and looked at her before speaking. “I…I don’t know about it, okay? All my life, I thought my mother was just a human, but on the day of my wedding to Daniel, I came to know that she was not what I assumed her to be. She was a werewolf, just like everyone in the pack; it’s just her wolf died because of the loss of her mate, turning her into a human.”
“Okay! That makes sense that why you have a wolf, but I still don’t get it that why don’t you shift when you turned eighteen? Because right now, you are twenty-three, right?”
“I don’t know that even I had once asked Ivory, my Lycan, about the same.”
“Hold on! You have a Lycan instead of a wolf?” She asked, to which I nodded. “It means you’re above all the werewolves.”, She exclaimed. “No matter how your Lycan is able to hide in you without anyone’s notice.”, She grinned.
“You know about Lycans?”
“Of course, I do. In fact, I was born to serve one..”, She said and gasped by slapping her hand on her mouth. “And I think that’s you, Eva. My wolf and I had always felt protective toward you with our life.”
“What rubbish?” I shooed that topic.
“Do you really think that whatever is happening with you was less than a pile of rubbish? If I would have said to you that you would be shifting into a Lycan just after your marriage, then would you have believed that? Leave about that shifting part; you got married to a werewolf out of the blue.”, She pointed out.
And I knew every word which was spelled out from her mouth was true.
“And I also know why didn’t you shift when you turned eighteen!”, She said proudly as if she knew everything and kind of that was the truth.
“Why?”
“Because Lycan shifts only on the ray of the full moon fall on the human after they find their mate.”, She responded. That made me realize that my situation was also the same.
“Okay! And how do you know that you are born to serve a Lycan? There can be a lot of Lycans out there.”
“Not A lot of Lycans! The number of Lycans is too small compared to werewolves. For example, out of 1000 werewolves, 1 Lycan is out there in the whole world.”
“Hmm! You know a lot about them, don’t you?”
“Because I have spent half of my life in the pack before hunters genocide my pack members.”, She muttered sadly.
“Hey!” I tried to enlighten her mood.
“I’m fine now. And before you ask, how do I know that I will be serving a Lycan, the Moon Goddess has told me in my dreams. I asked her that how will I find her or him, but she just smiled and asked to wait for the right time; my destiny will take you to that Lycan.”
“Oh, okay!” I nodded about how to react to this. This was too much for me. “I will be leaving with Daniel today, and I’m not going to ask him to take you with us, so if your destiny is with then, I’m sure that your moon goddess might have planned something for you, and if not, then it will be final that you have to serve some other Lycan but not me. Is that okay with you?”
“Why don’t you ask your Lycan about it?”
“Tell we are not in talking condition right now because I fought with her mate again.”
“You both fought? And you didn’t say anything about that to me?”, She questioned me again.
“There is something called PRIVACY between couples. I can’t share everything with you.”, I pointed out, and then I remembered that Daniel didn’t have any fresh clothes with him and he was that kind of man who used to change his clothes five to six times a day.
“I have to buy some clothes for Daniel. So, if you want to leave with the groceries, then you can leave.”, I suggested to her.
“And what will I do over there? Your mate will be waiting for you, and finding me in instead will make the situation awkward for both of us. So, I’m staying with you.”
“Fine!”
Since a very few shops were open this early in the morning to it took us more than half an hour. During all this time, my mind was on the temper level of my mate. When I was buying clothes for Daniel, Ivory popped up in my mind again, taking an interest in the things which I was waiting for OUR mate. She was such a cute angry bird. She used to get mad at our mate because of his behavior at the same time; she couldn’t stay away from him as well.
‘Take a red t-shirt, our mate will look hot in it.’, She purred in happiness when I chose black.
‘But what if he doesn’t like to wear a complete RED t-shirt then? After all, we haven’t seen any RED thing in his closet.’, I said, thinking about the situation practically. And immediately, she became sad. ‘How about we take a t-shirt with the mixture of both red and black color?’, I suggested, on which she started wiggling her tail.
‘Okay!’
The excitement level of my lycan was increasing with every step which I was taking toward the apartment.
‘Eva!’
‘Hmm.’
‘When will I get a chance to meet our mate personally? I want to talk with them and tell them that even I was here. I want to spend some time with Daniel’s wolf-like I want to go on a date with him, play with him, lick him, run with him, and sex….’
‘STOP! Don’t you think you are taking things too fast? I meant we just met him three days before.’
‘Things don’t work in that way in our case. Sometimes werewolves get mated and marked just after the meeting of a few hours.’
‘I don’t want to keep you guys apart, but at the same time, we can’t ignore the fact that the human part of our mate is a jerk.”
“And do you think fighting and argue can change me? Why don’t you try to change him with LOVE? I mean, he not that stupid. So, whenever he says NO, then make him realize that he is wrong instead of arguing with him like a kid. On the top, he is our mate; at the end he will end up coming back to us even our fight.’

As expected, when we reached the apartment, he was not in a great mood, but he didn’t say a word for being late for more than an hour.
“What do you want to have for the breakfast?” I asked, taking out the groceries from the bag.
“Anything.”, He replied nonchalantly.
I looked at him by raising my brow. “Anything? Really? You don’t look like a person who can eat ANYTHING.”
“Fine! I want to eat Kedgeree.”
“Okay!”, Nodding my head, I started taking out the things which I needed to prepared Kedgeree.
He stood beside me, looking at everything before speaking, “You know how to cook?”
‘Don’t you dare to reply in a sarcastic way.’, Ivory warned when I heard his question.
“Yes! I’m not great, but I can assure you that no one will die after cooking the food made by me.”, I replied with a smile.
“If you want, then I can help you. While you can assist me with the cooking.”, He proposed.
“You know cooking?” I asked in surprise.
“Yes!”, He nodded. “I thought to impress you with my cooking skill when I ended up throwing the food in the room.”, He added, recalling that memory.
‘He had cooked for us? That’s so sweet!’ Ivory flattered, hearing him.
“Be my assistant and let me take the in-charge.”
“I’m sorry! I keep testing your patience with everything, don’t I?” I apologised.
“That’s fine. I always end up speaking something because of which you can’t control your big mouth.”
“Well, I can’t deny that part.”, I grinned on which he smiled back at me. I helped him with the ingredients, whatever he wanted, while I stayed beside him, observing everything. I liked us in this way, enjoying each other company rather than arguing.
“When will we leave for the pack?” I asked him.
“You say I won’t mind if you have any other plans.”, He said, making my eyes widen in shock. What happened to him all of a sudden?
This was not the man I married to.
‘Maybe this is the effect of mate bond.’, Ivory suggested. She was the one who had not seen the cruel whole out there, but I was not someone who could make myself fool in this mate bond thing. I wasn’t MOM. I wouldn’t be.
