Daniel’s POV
.
I was over the moon when Angel scolded her roommate just because she disrespected me.
But then, who was I kidding?
We fought again when she was leaving to buy something from the store.
Then again, we patched up.
And again, we fought.
And now I was sitting alone on Angel’s bed, fuming in anger.
I seriously couldn’t understand how to deal with her. And this mate bond was not helping with it. If a single percent of attitude had been shown by some other person, then I would have kicked her out of my life and would never see his or her face, but…but Angel was not just SOMEONE.
A mate which I never wanted to have, and now that I had her, I didn’t want to lose her because, being an alpha, it was important for my wolf and me to keep our mate near us.
‘Because of your mountain size ego, we will surely lose her.’, Roman growled.
Only he was to comment. I blocked him, thinking about what I should do next. At the same time, I received Aunt Emma’s call.
“Hello, Aunt”
“You have again shut down your mind link, Dan.”, She pointed out. She hated to use human technology.
“I had just blocked Roman. It was open before. It’s just he was giving me a headache.”
“What’s wrong? Why is your wolf behaving like that?”, She asked in concern.
Should I talk to her about it?
Yes! Maybe she could suggest something. After all, that was the reason elders were for.
“It’s Evangeline.”, I confessed.
“What happened? What did she do now?”
“She didn’t do anything, Aunt. It’s just…she is not like which I want my wife to be.”, I told her truthfully, still hiding the fact that she was not just my human wife but also my mate. I didn’t want to raise the MATE topic in front of her because that was a painful topic for her.
“Then you can leave her, you know.”
“I didn’t hold her hand to leave her just after three days of marriage, Aunt.”, I responded, controlling my best not to raise my voice on her stupid idea. “When I said before that she is not like the wife I wanted, I meant to say that I need to change her just like the way I want to do without forcing my decision on her.”
“What’s wrong with forcing your decision on her? She is your wife. She should listen to you.”
“Exactly. That’s my point. In general cases, any wives do the same, but since she didn’t stay with her family all her life, she has a habit of doing things that she feels are right. And she gives a damn to that fact.”
“Then you can mark her and then let the mate bond do the rest of the things.”
“But then.. I…I can’t forcefully mark her. In that way, she will hate me in that way. And she has told me clearly that until and unless she gets sure about this relationship, she won’t let me mark her. You see, she doesn’t have good experience in all this because of her mother’s incident.”, I explained.
“Who’s asking you to forcefully mark her? All I’m suggesting is you make her sure about your relationship, make her realize that you’re not like her father. Win her trust and change yourself in the way she wants.”
“Aunt Emma?” I asked in surprise. And also to see whether she was in her right mind or not?
“I know that I’m suggesting, son. And trust me, this will work. Not all war can be won by violence; sometimes, loves helps as well. And when she will be madly in love with you, I’m sure then she will let you mark her, and then my son, you can control her just in the way you want.”
“Is this the right way?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrow.
“Obviously, it’s not that you’re cheating on her or something. You just want her to put her back to her place where she belongs. I mean at home, handling household works and your pups.”
“I…”, Though I liked her idea, then I felt like I would be cheating on Angel by doing this.
“I know you don’t want to change at all for anyone, but at the same time, you need to understand that you can’t expect someone else to do the same for you until and unless you do the same. So, the least you can do is ACT for a while. And not to forget, everything is fair in love and war.”
“I…I don’t love her.”
“I didn’t even say anything like that to you; You are the one who said that aren’t you?”, She teased, on which I groaned, making her laugh a little more. “All right, I hope you’re coming pack today.”
“Yes, Aunt. We will leave from here after breakfast.”, I said, but then I realized that she might have some other plans or she might refuse to come with me. So, I shouldn’t have told her the exact time when I myself didn’t know about my mate’s mood. “And in case there will be a change in the plan, then I will let you know.”
“Okay! Take care of yourself and Evangeline.”
“You too, Aunt.”, After disconnecting the call, I checked the time, it was more than half an hour already, but neither she nor her roommate was back.
‘Relax, something might be caught up in between.’, Roman said when I started to fume again. ‘Why don’t you freshen up by that time?’
‘Well, I don’t have fresh clothes, genius!’ I snapped at my wolf.
My wolf whimpered when I talked with him that way. “I’m sorry, Roman.”, He was just trying to be nice, and I snapped at him for no reason. “I’m sorr…”
He didn’t say anything, just shut me down.
That day was not far when my wolf would leave him if I would treat him like this.

It had been now an hour now. And there was no sign of her. I started leaving the apartment in search of her when her strong smell hit my nose. She was in the elevator with her roommate. I wanted to do a lot of things right then I bit my inner cheek to refrain from doing so.
Aunt was right. If I had to change her in my way, then I had to act to change just the way she wanted. I walked back to her room and sat on her small bed.
She entered the apartment, giggling and laughing with her roommate.
“Daniel, you need to come out of the room. Diana has to freshen up!” Angel said, adding fuel to my system.
Calm down, Daniel.
Calm down.
“Hmm,” Nodding my head, I walked out of the girl’s room, and then both entered their room to freshen up or whatever they wanted to do.
I drank the sip of my insult silently, which she did by kicking me out of the room. I sat on the chair outside, and my eyes landed on the bags which they had brought with them.
Even I wanted to see what gems they had bought, for which they took more than an hour. With this thought, I checked all the groceries in one bag and a pair of jeans and a t-shirt with men’s undergarments in the other bag.
‘Who bought this and for whom?’
I checked the invoice in the bag. The payment was made from Angel’s card. So it was for…ME. I checked the size of the clothes. It was of my size.
I didn’t know that she knew my size.
I sensed someone’s presence, and I turned to see my mate standing behind me. “You bought these for me?”
“No. It’s for my future mate whom I will meet after rejecting you.”
I grabbed her waist, pulling her into my arms. “MINE.”, I growled. I saw her biting her lower lips as if she was stopping herself from saying something. “I could never think of you buying something for me after our fight.”, I muttered, looking at the clothes she had brought for me.
“I can say the same. Even after our fight last night, you were there for me when I was in pain.”, She muttered.
“Even if we fight a lot, Daniel. There’s something between us which bind us, and we both know that we still want each other in our lives, no matter how different our thinking and perspective are.”
Yeah! That something was MATE BOND.
“And as I had said before, I want to give a chance to our relationship before taking any harsh step.”, She said confidently. “Now, leave me! I have to prepare breakfast for all of us.”, She said, trying to remove my hand from her waist. But I didn’t remove my hand from her waist. “Daniel, please…”, She requested, and finally, I let her go from my arms.
