Chapter 73.2- to end soon

Book:Their End, My Beginning Published:2024-5-1

*Amanda’s POV
Seeing the smile on her face made the ache in me subside. He did say one of the effects of drug was good dreams.
Poor Kat. It must hurt like hell.
“You sure she is fine? I can stay here and look after her.” Kat’s grandma, Bella asked.
“No, Mrs. Marshal she will be asleep for at least till tomorrow night, most probably. You can go sleep. I am here. Don’t worry.” I said trying to calm Bella down.
As soon as they heard Kat screaming, Kat’s grandparents and her uncle came running into the room.
Their presence here was a huge relief for me. I would not have been able to do this alone.
I instructed them to make sure she doesn’t scratch or bite her tongue in an attempt to get relief from the pain while I went to get the injection.
“Come mom. Amanda is well capable of taking care of her.” Nathaniel, Kat’s uncle, nudged Bella and Daniel out.
“Don’t think you have escaped mister. You have some explaining to do.” Bella whisper-scolded him making sure not to make any noise. Nathaniel grunted while keeping his head down and shaking it.
“You too rest well Amanda.” Nathaniel said while he closed the door behind him as he left.
I sat on the edge of the bed grabbing the towel beside Kat to dap her sweat off her forehead.
She is going to be so pissed being all stinky from her sweat.
I smiled sadly thinking about her pissed face. But it dropped quickly as I thought about what happened when she was under the coma.
Knowing about BlackJack’s cheap trick to involve police. Neo had come with antidote.
When he gave me the shot, he made sure to tell me to give all 3 shots in correct intervals, lest she goes under the pain.
I missed to give the shot by 2 hours since I was tired as well from unpacking and moving stuffs around all alone with her uncle’s help, well as much as he could with his injury. Since we didn’t allow Kat to do anything in her current condition.
Thank god there would not be any lethal side-effects for my mistakes, I can’t even think about the pain she went or what could have had happened.
This pain is only one-fourth of what she was supposed to feel.
The drug they injected was to give her unbearable pain that would either kill her or drive her to madness to kill herself.
Jesus! If he hadn’t found the drug bottle they had foolishly left, he could have never given me the antidote.
I don’t even want to think what would have happened if he hadn’t

I was pulled out of my thoughts when my phone rang.
It was my dad.
“Hey Dad!”
“Hey! How’s she?” He asked.
“Now she’s under. Sorry dad.” I said remembering of the fact that I had promised to call him after giving her the shot.
“Don’t worry. I expected you would forget to call me. I called to tell you about something else as well.” He sighed.
“I heard dad. Black Jack is finally making their moves huh.” I asked back.
“Yeah. They did almost manage to bankrupt us. If it wasn’t for his help.” Dad sighed.
“These are the signs of it going to end soon dad.” I said.
“I know sweetheart. Take care of yourself and her. Love you both. Your mom is asking you to kiss Kat for her and also sends you her kisses.” He said.
“Love you too dad. Give mom my kisses too.” I said before hanging up.
I looked toward Katherine.
I swept her hair back from her forehead. Before leaning to kiss her forehead.
It’s going to end soon.
