“So that’s the final plan I have drawn from the descriptions you had given me. If you have anything to change in the drawings, it can be done as well.” By saying so I ended the 1 hour presentation of the drawings I have created for Mr. Scott’s project. Yeah, I have begun saying, the one’s-whose-name-should-not-be-said, in a formal way even in my head. I don’t know how long that will last but I hope by doing so I won’t be saying his name out loud. I don’t want to be adding extra problems to my overflowing plate of disasters.
As I was packing up the papers I had laid across and kept just computer with the final outline, I looked across the room to get the reactions from the 5 suited men looking at the one having forced to be sat in the meeting. Yeah, he had the expression of- I would rather be eating a live worm than be here in front of me.
“I haven’t paid you all to just look at my face for a decision to be made.” He snapped. Well someone’s on their periods.
Okay, that almost made me giggle in between a very important meeting. Which determines the fate of whether I will leave this place or not. But Mr. Scott being Mr. Scott always stays true to his words and would literally kick me out just so that he won’t have to see me ever.
“But sir, this project is like no other and you have repeatedly said it was very important to you.” One of the suited men with blonde hair stated.
“Not important anymore.” He said while looking at me before he readjusted his tie and stood up from his chair. “I trust you guys to make a reasonable and good decision.” He said before storming out of the room with Raven following behind him.
“What happened to Mr. Scott who believed no one to make decision alone even for those projects that are not as important as this one.” One of the other men with black hair said.
“Might be him finally understanding that he can trust us with this.” Another black-haired guy replied. I feel so bad hearing the discussion when I know the exact truth behind his sudden trust in his people. Either it might be the fact that he wanted to just be out of the room. Or that his ego doesn’t allow him to compliment on my drawings when it is clear he can’t criticize it when everyone else is agreeing to my drawing. Too bad the men are already overjoyed with the sudden change that I don’t even want to burst their bubble.
“Miss. Marshall, I will be speaking on behalf of everyone when I say that your drawing is exquisite. We have no suggestions to bring any changes to it.” The first black haired guy said bringing an end to the discussion of the reason behind why Mr. Scott has finally let them do the task by themselves. It might have been extremely hard for him to do so when he trusts no one except him. And me, which he had said once but it’s a possible fact that it is no longer true. Or had been ever true seeing the turn of events.
“Thankyou gentlemen. And on behalf of Simiona team, I thank you guys for this opportunity. If in future you decide that you need to change something do say so at that time. I have made the drawing in such a way that some changes can be made though not all.” I said while I had turned off my computer after saving the file and giving them the copy in USB.
“We hope there will be none.” They stated before each of them had shaken my hands and left the room.
I was the last one to leave the room. On the way to my cabin I was preparing my mind for the upcoming events. The final goodbye.
As I walked towards his cabin I looked up to see Raven looking at me. She gave me an encouraging smile and a thumbs up as a sign of good luck. I managed to return the smile. Turning towards the door I took in a deep breathe before I knocked at the door.
“Come in.” came a deep voice from inside. Hearing him I felt all the braveness flood out of me. Having in mind that its now or never, I opened the door preparing myself for the worst. I stood at the entrance and kept one hand on the door to prevent it from shutting. He was working on his computer knowing very well in his 180 degree view, he could see me.
