There was no makeup on Nora’s face. After all she was just an extra and didn’t need to show her face. Vivienne recognized her at one sight. She thought for a minute and handed the script to the director, saying, “Let’s get stared!”
It was her first time to shoot for a movie. Even though she just needed to show her back, Nora was rather nervous. She couldn’t help but clenched her fingers.
Vivienne was not in her best state. It took her a long time to get into the mood. The director had called “Cut!” for several times. It was fine for Vivienne, but certainly not for Nora.
She was in a scene with Vivienne when the rebel forces rushed in. Vivienne, as the favorite imperial concubine, remained graceful and calm, while she was terrified and hurt by a sword, falling down on the ground.
Even though the sword was just a prop, it still hurt when it hit her. Not to mention the director was particular about the details, and he made Nora fell heavily on the ground. Bruises covered Nora’s arms after merely three takes.
The last time when she fell down, her elbow hit the ground so hard that she almost burst into tears.
The director called out another “Cut!”, and it was pretty obvious that he was a little bit annoyed, “What’s wrong with you, Vivienne? Nobody is getting rest until we finish this scene!”
Vivienne bowed down, looking sorry, “I’m so sorry, director. Please give me another twenty minutes. I’ll get myself together.”
When Nora got up from the ground and rolled up her sleeve, she found her elbow was bleeding. She just frowned and pressed the skin around the wound.
It was 6 pm already. Vivienne took a rest and she had adjusted herself when she came back. It only took one take to finish the scene this time.
Nora’s arms were numb from the constant falling. The shooting was nearly over after this scene. She got up in silence and went back to change when unexpectedly, Vivienne stood up from the throne and walked to her, “Brilliant acting. Do you want to become an actress?”
“Not really.”
“That’s fascinating. So what are you doing here?”
Nora was disturbed by the woman. She barely even knew her and they had met for only once. Didn’t she realize she was being a bitch?
She didn’t reply. So Vivienne just went on saying, “You wouldn’t have been in such a pathetic place if you were admitted as his girlfriend. Doesn’t he give you money?”
As the brand ambassador of Rivertown Group, she always thought she was the special one to Kingsley. But he left her for this woman at that night, and left again after coming back to give her a quick, perfunctory comfort.
Vivienne was biting her lips, overwhelmed by a sense of anger and discontent.
“Miss Vivienne Hall, we don’t know each other, and you are a big star. You really shouldn’t be talking to a nobody. I’m leaving here. Goodbye.” Nora didn’t want to speak to her again, so she ignored her words with a polite nod, turning around and left.
The sky had all turned dark. It seemed that it would rain in a minute. Nora went back to the dressing room, walking to the cabinet and opened it, only to find her clothes, shoes and her cellphone all gone missing.
Her mind went completely blank. The dressing room was really messy and she didn’t know anyone. She was putting one hand on her forehead when she heard a rustle of footsteps behind her.
Nora was startled and turned around abruptly. The door was suddenly shut, and she heard a clear sound of someone locking the door. She ran over hurriedly to open the door, but it was too late.
Someone had locked the door from the outside.
