Yaffe was embarrassed. “I was so sleep-deprived that my brain was confused and I forgot to tell you.”
“It doesn’t matter. Let me introduce you to a few friends. Just bear them in heart.”
“Yes.”
Quinn leads Yaffe to Quirico, Aydin and Caelan. “This is your sister-in-law, Yaffe.”
“Nice to meet you, Yaffe.” The three of them say in unison, and then introduce themselves separately.
Yaffe greets them all.
Wiphy and Wheele have had enough fun in the yard and return to the living room.
Consciously, he sits down on Yaffe’s lap and takes a comfortable position.
Quirico and the other two look surprised but they don’t say anything about that.
After they have dinner, Quinn takes them to the third floor.
On the third floor is a fitness and leisure area, with a half-translucent room for guests to enjoy the night view.
Quinn brings them the drinks.
Quirico pours drinks for several people on his own initiative. “Wiphy’s acceptance of Yaffe is better than I thought. How can he accept her so easily?”
Caelan says, “Yes. Wiphy knows us longer than he knows Yaffe, so he should be more receptive to us. But thing is opposite.”
“It may be fate.” Quinn replies.
Aydin, who remains silent, says, “Maybe Yaffe gives him a sense of home, which we don’t have.”
Aydin’s words make them lost in thought.
Quinn finds out he’s right. “She indeed has something we don’t have.”
Aydin says, “Quinn, when I saw you and Yaffe are so sweet, I want to get married too.”
“Go get Scarlett back if you want to get married.”
“She’s married to that man. It’s over. I have a new girlfriend and she is good. I’m going to propose to her during the Spring Festival.”
“You’re not stimulated by Scarlett, are you?” Quirico says disapprovingly.
“I want to see what she would think when I so easily give other the position that she has coveted for ten years.”
“You just want to anger her. If you find you are that into your girlfriend, are you going to divorce?” Caelan says.
“It’s not a big deal to get a divorce. I’m not a woman. There are still a lot of women coming to me even I’m divorced.”
Hearing this, the other people do not persuade him anymore.
The Wen family has an inexplicable obstinacy, and the more others persuade them, the more they will be rebellious.
Caelan changes the topic, “What are you going to do with the Thrive Group, Quinn? They’ve been cutting their losses these days. Will it affect the Aydin family?”
Aydin is the first to reply, “No. Dennis and Benson have nothing to do with our family for a long time. The old man has wanted to teach them a lesson, but he didn’t do that in view of them sharing the same surname. It will take them a long time to get recovered this time.”
“If the Thrive Group itself operates well,” Quinn says quietly, “Its market share won’t fall so sharply just by my attack.”
Yaffe gives Wiphy a bath and, seeing that the lights are still on the third floor, she brings them some of the dishes and pastries Lara has made.
Then she goes back to her room for a rest.
She sleeps until midnight when she feels the other side of the bed sinks in.
Yaffe, sleepily asleep, grunts, “You just finished talking?”
“Woke you up?”
“No.” Then she goes back to sleep.
Quinn listens to the soft and long breathing in his ear, chuckles, and closes his eyes.
The Wen House.
Benson looks at Molly coldly. “Look what you have done to the Wen family?!”
“Before I did it, you and Dennis agreed. And now that something’s wrong, you just blame it all on me?” Molly looks sad and wants to cry.
Benson looks at Molly with no sympathy. “You said you know Quinn and that Quinn doesn’t care if that bitch dies or not, but you are wrong. Do you think I won’t blame you? If it’s not your fault, then who else is to blame?! If the family business is ruined because of you, I’ll never let you go!”
Molly looks at Benson in shock, feeling incredulous.
She shakes violently, as if she will faint the next second.
After accepting Quinn’s attitude toward her, she faces the incomprehension and criticism from her family.
She doesn’t know what to do with the rest of her life.
Why does no one else understand her pain?!
She really loves Quinn.
She loves him before he was admitted by the He Group and had little money.
She loves him even more after they were together.
But because of the child, all the affection is gone.
That child has ruined her love and her life.
That’s Quinn’s kid!
Quinn betrayed her and fathered a child with another woman.
Why can’t she be angry?!
Why does everyone blame her?
Why should she accept that child?
Her relationship with Quinn does not thaw even after she is seriously injured for saving the child.
Dennis interrupts, “It is no use arguing about this now. The urgent thing we have to do is to minimize the damage.”
“Other than filing for bankruptcy, what else can we do?!” Benson was furious.
He gives Molly a few angry glances as he speaks
“It’s better to file for bankruptcy than to be dragged down by Quinn. I’ll start filing the document tomorrow. You can be the crisis pr and to stabilize the company.”
“Well, you don’t have to arrange the things for me.” Benson glances coldly at Molly, snorts and goes upstairs.
Molly looks at him, too, and sees hatred in his eyes.
After Benson leaves, Dennis says, “Molly, I know you’re not to blame for this. I have seen what you have suffered these years.”
“Dennis…”
“Benson and I are at a loss of what to do with the company. If he said anything he shouldn’t, don’t take it to heart.”
“Yes… I see. Thank you for being on my side up to now.”
Dennis pats her on the shoulder. “You’re my sister, and I certainly don’t blame you, but…”
Molly’s heart misses a beat and she asks nervously, “But what?”‘
“I think this incident is caused by the fact that we hurt Yaffe. Karmier and Roi have been nice to you. Would you please ask them to persuade Quinn to stop? In the future, the Wen family will have nothing to do with the He family.”
Molly, who has not expected Dennis to say so, shakes her head painfully. “Dennis, do you think Karmier and Roi will still listen to me when things turn out like this? If they bear in mind that I once saved Wiphy, why won’t they persuade Quinn to give up putting pressure on us? I shall get nothing but their insulation for begging them now!”
