“Are you going to stand by and watch your parents, your brother, and me carry huge debts and suffer hunger and cold? As your family, can’t we compare with your face and self-esteem?”
Molly opens her mouth, “I… I don’t think so.”
“I will not say anything else. Just think about it and tell me the answer tomorrow.” After speaking, Dennis goes upstairs.
There is only Molly left in the huge living room.
She looks blankly at everything in front of her, with which she is familiar, and can’t come to her sense for a long time.
She doesn’t understand how it goes like this.
She just dated someone and fallen in love with a man. Why should she be blamed like this?
She has given so much affection and energy to the He family and Quinn no less than Yaffe does.
Finally, she lost to Yaffe.
Her family and relatives are also involved because of it.
As for her family, who should have protected her and understood her, they did not care about her feelings at all. Why couldn’t they try to see things from her perspective? Why did they force her to find Quinn’s parents?
During these years, she has braced herself to strive for many benefits for her family in front of the people of the He family.
Now they don’t remember the benefits she has brought to them, and will only greedily ask her to strive for more.
So does Quinn.
She loves him so much. Even though she has known he has a child, she tried to accept the child because of her love for him.
Only because she wants to hurt Yaffe, he ignores the previous relationship and ruins the company of her family.
Has he thought about her efforts in the past before making his mind to ruin it?
Has he thought how she should be treated and how she can cover the medical cost if her family goes bankrupt?
No one cares about her!
Molly wipes the tears which flows down from the eyes unconsciously, and turns to have a look at the house, which can’t give her any warmness and affection any longer, walking out.
The street lights on both sides of the street elongate her shadow.
In the silent street, she can faintly hear footsteps of another man, besides hers.
Molly turns her head with fear and sees a dark figure under a street light 10 meters away.
It is a tall man.
His whole body and face are all hidden in the black robe, like a dark specter.
“Who are you?”
“A person who can relieve your pain.”
“How do you know I am painful?”
“I know everything!”
“Do you?” Molly smiles and walks in the opposite direction of that man.
The man follows her with steps unhurriedly.
…
The next day.
Yaffe gets up early. After freshening up, she goes downstairs to help Lara to prepare breakfast.
After the breakfast is ready on the table, Quinn and Wiphy also go downstairs.
Quinn asks with doubt, “Why did you get up so early today?”
“Today there will be a throughout year-end cleaning in the hospital and it’s my turn to organize this year, so I have to arrive early.” Yaffe slurs, “By the way, Rich Man, how should we arrange for the Spring Festival? I have a very short holiday with only 4 days.”
“Let’s have dinner together with your parents in your house on New Year’s Eve and then go back to the mansion at night.”
Yaffe doesn’t expect he will make such a proposal, “Is it a good idea?”
“Your parents have only one child and it is the first year for you to be married, so we shouldn’t make them feel lonely.”
“Well, I will call my parents to tell them today. Thanks for your proposal.”
Quinn smiles and looks down to have breakfast.
After having breakfast, Yaffe drives her little POLO car out.
When waiting for the traffic light, she calls her mother, “Ms. Monismith, prepare New Year’s Eve feat tomorrow because your son-in-law said we will go back home to have dinner with you and Mr. Yannick this noon.”
“Really? My son-in-law is so considerate. I will go to prepare right now.”
“Well, mom, how should I behave if I go back to the mansion to celebrate the Spring Festival with your son-in-law? Sometimes I think I am a little dull, especially when your son-in-law is very thoughtful and considerate. I feel very ashamed.”
“You still have some conscience if you can think in this way.”
Yaffe scratches her head, “I have also thought so, but I find I did not so well. I even have this kind of feeling towards Wiphy. At first I thought I did well, but in fact, it was just so-so.”
Monismith pauses and asked concerned, “Baby, are you a little self-contemptuous? It’s not like you.”
“Your son-in-law is so perfect that he is not like an ordinary person. Your grandson seems to be very close to me, but in fact, I don’t help him with anything. How can’t I be self-contemptuous?”
“Well, I don’t think we can make things clear on the phone. Let’s talk face to face when you come to have dinner tomorrow.”
“OK. Mom, bye.”
…
Besides the medical staff who need to do routine medical attendance and medical rounds, the hospital is busy in giving out the New Year goods and decorate the wards to create New Year’s atmosphere for the patients who stay at the hospital during the Spring Festival.
In addition, there are many gifts given out in the hospital that can’t be carried alone.
Anne and Rowie don’t have a car, so Yaffe drives them home.
Rowie will take this night’s bus. Yaffe drives her to the station after she goes home to take the luggage.
On the day before New Year’s Eve, the station is so crowded with people that one can hardly move.
Yaffe’s blood is frozen when she sees such a scene.
She lives in Chandely since she was young. From kindergarten to graduate school, she has studied in Chandely all the time.
Although she often follows her parents to move around, she hasn’t experienced the Spring Festival travel season.
Yaffe asks, “How can you carry your luggage to the entrance?”
“If you walk over, they will naturally make way for you.” Rowie smiles carelessly, “Hand me the luggage and go back.”
Yaffe looks at Rowie’s thin arms and legs, “Let me send you off.”
“Take care.”
Yaffe nods and follows Rowie with two big suitcases squeezing into the crowd.
It takes them 5 minutes for only 20 meters.
People without ticket are not allowed to enter the check-in entrance, but the ticket inspector reluctantly agrees when seeing Rowie’s huge luggage and seeing Yaffe is not like a terrorist who takes revenge on society.
Yaffe helps Rowie to insert the luggage and the gifts given by the hospital into the trunk of the direct bus, and advises, “Don’t begrudge your money. Pay the cargo pullers in the station to help you pull them out of the station, understand?”
“I see. My brother will come to pick me up.” Rowie looks at Yaffe gratefully, “Yaffe, thank you. Besides, thanks for your birthday gift.”
“You don’t need to thank me. Get onto the bus. I see the ticket inspector is glaring at me. Have a good trip.”
“OK.”
Yaffe manages to force a way out and drives home.
Monismith sees she come back with two boxes of gifts and asks with doubt, “Gifts given by the hospital?”
“Yes. I have brought two boxes to give you and dad, and I will take the rest to the mansion. How about this arrangement?”
“Very good.” Monismith raises her chin, “Take them to the kitchen and wash your hands. It’s time to have dinner.”
