Yaffe can figure out what others speaks ill of her behind. They might say enviously that she’ll marry a man on his second marriage. When she gets married, she will become the kid’s step mother.
She doesn’t care about the gossip. It is enough that she knows the truth. She doesn’t need to refute anything. It is none of her business.
In people’s gossip, time passes quickly. One day before her marriage, Yaffe drives her mini Polo home.
She sees her mum debating with a crowd of older women.
She parks the car and hurries to her mum.
When she is still away from Monismith, she hears Monismith’s words, “You say my daughter is a step mother. Watch your mouth! You’re envious. Admit it! Don’t be disgusting! If I hear it next time, I won’t be so polite. You wanna argue, and I’ll fight you to the end. Don’t look down upon me.”
The crowds find they didn’t win the argument and Yaffe come there, so they leave.
Yaffe go beside angry Monismith, saying, “Mum, don’t be angry in case it impacts your health.”
Monismith stares at her unhappily, saying, “Go away. You’re so troublesome.”
“Don’t feel bothered with me. I’ll get married soon. You only need to bear me for several days.”
Her words nearly make a smile put on the corners of Monismith’s lips. She keeps from laughing, asking, “Does anyone gossip about you?”
“Colleagues won’t gossip in front of me.”
Monismith nods with satisfaction.
As they are to leave, a sharp voice appears, “Get your daughter marry a man on second marriage. Are you decent as mother?!”
Monismith pauses. She shrugs away from Yaffe and flows down back.
Before the others know what happened, Monismith slaps that woman.
The crowd freezes.
But Monismith still feels angry. She rolls up the sleeves with one hand on hips and the other hand pointing at the woman’s nose, scolding, “I’ve told you not to challenge my bottom line! It’s none of your business. Yes, my daughter marries a man on the second marriage. Can your daughter marry a man like Quinn He? If you have time gossiping, who not look at yourself in the mirror?”
“You…” The woman becomes stunned after being slapped by Monismith. After a while, she cries on the ground.
Monismith ignores her. She glances at the women around, saying, “If I hear the gossip next time, it’s more than slapping!”
Then she drags Yaffe away.
Since Yaffe is pushed by the patient’s family member from behind, she looks back from time to time.
Her look frightens these women. They leave soon with the woman on the ground.
“Ms. Lo, you’re so great. Next time, give me a wink and I’ll do it for you.”
Monismith shrugs her hands, saying, “They have too much free time. They can’t deal with their own business but gossip about others’. Why don’t they elect for president? If I don’t scare them this time, they’ll say more disgusting words.”
“Mum, I’m sorry. If I…”
“Stop! There’s nothing wrong with you. Quinn is such a good man. Whatever gossip comes, your happiness matters.”
“Ok.”
Monismith groans, “I feel painful in the hands. I don’t want to cook today.”
“I’ll do it for you.”
“Good girl.”
“I was amazed at your attacking skill. Let me ride on your coattails.” Yaffe smiles.
“Agree. Not many days are left for you to ride on my coattails.”
Yaffe holds Monismith by the shoulders, going upstairs.
At night, after having a brief dinner, Yaffe goes to her room.
Two wedding dresses have been sent to her. One is in Chinese style and the other is in western style.
Yaffe looks at the two dresses in front of the wardrobe. She still feels she is dreaming.
Just then, the phone rings.
It is Quinn’s message.
Quinn: What are you doing?
Yaffe: Ready for sleep. And you?
Quinn: I’m at the airport. I need to deal with something urgent.
Yaffe: Can you catch up with the wedding?
Quinn: Of course. I tell you in case you worry about it.
Reading these words, Yaffe smiles and replies, “Your explanation is enough.”
Quinn: Take a good rest. I’ll pick you up tomorrow.
Yaffe: Okay.
At the airport.
Reading the news about the arrival of certain flight, Quinn takes back the phone and looks at the LED screen without any facial expression.
Soon, a crowd comes from the VIP passage.
Among them there is a wheeled stretcher.
Quinn approaches it quickly. He looks at the pale woman on the stretcher.
He asks in a cold tone, “How’s it now?”
“Miss Wen is in poor health. She can’t fly for long and needs observation in hospital right now.”
“I’ll send her there.”
“Thank you, Mr. He.”
They carefully hold Molly Wen into Quinn’s car and then took the other car.
When Quinn drives the car away from the airport, Molly becomes awaked after struggling.
Noticing her move from the rearview mirror, Quinn stops the car and said coolly, “You wake up.”
Molly opens her starry eyes and gives him a gentle smile, “Yesterday I made a wish and it came true.”
“What wish?”
“I wished when I woke up, the first person I saw was you. Unexpectedly it came true. ”
“You don’t need to make a wish for such trifle.”
“No, it’s necessary. The time leaves for me to make a wish is not enough.” Molly thinks of something and her eyes get dimmed.
Her face is a bit pale, but her eyes starry.
But when her eyes get dimmed, it makes people feel that a flower withers.
Quinn doesn’t comfort her. He says, “I’ll send you to the hospital. Have a sleep now.”
“Then you’ll go home and be another woman’s bridegroom, right?”
“You shouldn’t have known these things.”
Tears immediately appear in Molly’s eyes. She says, “Quinn, I can’t stop my love for you. I’ve stayed abroad for such a long time, but I can’t forget you. What can I do? It’s impossible for me to love others, but I can’t request you anything. I’m really tired, more tired than when I was healthy.”
“Take good care of you. Stop thinking too much.”
“No, I won’t.” Tears slid down her face. Her thin hand tremblingly shakes Quinn’s.
Quinn freezes there but doesn’t withdraw his hand.
Molly puts his hand near her ear and gently strikes it, groaning, “I wanna marry you very much.”
“I get married tomorrow.”
Molly bursts into tears. She trembles, “Quinn, can you give me one more chance? I’ll take good care of myself and Wiphy. I will treat him as my own kid.”
