Chapter 33 It’s Not Normal

Book:Love You With All My Heart Published:2024-5-1

Nancy writes Lawrence several messages one after the other but gets no reply. She is really confused. What the hell does he want?
Why did he suddenly send so many gifts to her house? This is driving her crazy, she can’t take all this tension anymore.
Nancy is lost in thought by her phone when her mother comes back. She makes a beeline for her room and asks her sternly, “Nancy, tell me honestly. Are you hiding something from me?”
“What are you talking about mother, why would I hide something from you? Don’t worry about things like these.” Nancy’s gaze shifts. Did Nicholas get over-irritated and spill the beans about her?
Her mother grasps her hands and pulls her out from the bed and asks, “Nancy, are you pregnant?”
Nancy’s heart sinks. Things seem to have reached a point where they can’t be covered up anymore. She didn’t know what to do. “Mother, can you please calm down a little?”
“So, it’s true. You really are pregnant!” Her mother is so shocked that she grips Nancy’s hand, unable to believe this.
“Yes, I’m pregnant!” Nancy admits morosely. Originally, she thinks that her mother will be furious. She didn’t expect her to just sit there and stare quietly at her before leaving the room.
She quickly jumps up out of bed, worrying that her mother is angry. She sticks her ears behind the door to eavesdrop and hears her mother crying quietly.
Thank goodness, at least she’s not angry.
Nancy is so worried that she bursts open the door and rushes out to comfort her mother. But then she sees that she is crying in joy. Her mother is hugging her father and cheering, “Oh husband, I am finally going to be a grandmother!”
“What, really? It must be that son of a bitch!” Her father still thinks of Nancy as a little girl who isn’t old enough to be wooed by men. Even though she’s with child now, he can’t really think of her being pregnant in his mind. It’s so ironic.
“No – it’s not Tammy, it’s Nancy! Our daughter has finally gotten together with someone!” Her mother’s tears of joy and being emotional give Nancy a headache. She closes the door dejectedly, feeling like she is a burden on her family.
She thinks that people should to be hanged to death for getting pregnant without marrying.
This whole situation is so wrong. Nancy can’t believe how on earth her mother can accept something like this.
How can she be so calm?
Closing the door, she goes back to bed and checks her phone. Lawrence has finally answered back. “Come outside, I’m waiting downstairs.”
Oh God! She is shocked and her phone almost drops from her hands. She rushes to the window and looks out. Sure enough, there is a car parked under the tree downstairs.
Lawrence leans against his car, facing her window. He waves upon seeing her.
Nancy ducks her head in, her heart pacing wildly. What did Lawrence come here for?
Also her parents are sitting outside her room right now, she can’t leave under their gazes!
She is trying to figure out what to do next when Lawrence sends her another message, “Are you coming down or am I going to have to come up?”
He’s coming upstairs? No, this can’t be!
Nancy hurriedly changes out of her dress, grabs her phone and walks out of the room. She wonders about what excuse she should give her parents about her leaving. Her mother perks up upon seeing her and says fondly, “Going out? Take care!”
That’s strange. Why did she allow her to go out like this?
Nancy sends a pleading glance to her father who returns her a kind smile saying, “Alright, just go. Remember to stay safe!”
Deciding that she can’t look meek, she storms out of the house, growing more furious with each step.
Something definitely is wrong!
Once downstairs, Nancy sees Lawrence by his car nearby the gate. Both he and his car look dazzling.
Nancy becomes indignant, thinking that it isn’t fair that God made him so handsome. It’s enough to make anyone jealous. Realizing what she is thinking she curses in heart.
