Chapter 32 The Delivered Gifts

Book:Love You With All My Heart Published:2024-5-1

“Where is he?” Nancy doesn’t know what kind of scheme Lawrence is pulling now. It is a little strange for him to suddenly send gifts like this.
Tammy opens a box at random, and pulls out some of the smaller things inside. She asks warily, “What? Why are they all babies’ things?”
Nancy looks at it and indeed, it is something for a baby. Her face pales.
She quickly snatches the baby clothes from Tammy and thrusts them back into Justin’s arms. Shaking with rage she shouts, “Take all these things away from here – right now!”
Justin is gobsmacked. Wasn’t she happy with the gifts?
Grasping the situation, Tammy comes over and pulls Nancy aside, “Sis. Is Lawrence the father of the child? Please don’t be like this. Everyone thinks this is a wonderful match!”
“You don’t know anything about this! Don’t stick your nose in other people’s affairs!” Nancy blows up at Tammy. Lawrence was a good man. But they weren’t married, she doesn’t really know if he cares about her or not.
Justin puts the boxes down and turns around and runs. “I’ve already delivered them Miss Nancy. Bye-bye!”
He didn’t want to bring them back, Lawrence would kill him. He has been up from since early in the morning to buy Nancy these gifts. God knows how long he has shopped for them.
Nancy is so furious that she wanted to throw out everything. Tammy quickly puts a stop to that and says, “Sister, please don’t throw them out! They are very expensive – the baby might need them in the future. I will put them aside for you!”
Tammy takes away all the gift boxes and places the baby’s things in Nancy’s room. And she keeps everything else inside her own room.
Nancy was still very angry. She opens her phone and texts Lawrence. “What the hell do you think you are doing? What did you mean by sending me so many baby products?”
On the other side, Lawrence is sitting at his home. He hears the notification on his phone and sees Nancy’s message. He frowns.
Is she really that mad with me?
Justin said to him that Nancy was like a wild horse. To break her for riding he has to aim for the heart of the matter.  To woo her hand he has to first charm her family.
Beside him, his grandmother leans over and grins impishly, asking, “Laurence dear, when will you bring the girl home again for grandma?”
Laurence blinks his eyes. He asks her gently, “Do you like her grandma?”
“Of course I like her. If you like her, so does grandma!” The old lady replies, laughing heartily, but Lawrence’s mother was speechless in rage.
She takes her aside and whispers something in her ear. The grandma shifts between looking pleased, then shocked, and finally angry.
And then Lawrence gets up. “Grandma, I have to go now. Next time I’ll bring her here to see you. Goodbye.”
“Good, remember to bring her over! Don’t cheat grandma!” The grandmother happily leads Lawrence out of the door. His mother couldn’t help but walk over behind. She said, “Mother, Lawrence is not being sensible and mature. Why are you also following him into this mess? That girl is simply not worthy of our precious son…”
“Quiet! Did I ever disparage you when you came to our home? Don’t forget your own past. Finding love in this society is not as the same as it was before. It’s not easy to meet the right person.”
Following the old grandmother’s words, Lawrence’s mother gets shocked into silence. She couldn’t utter a word.
“Anyways, Lawrence said that the girl was pregnant. Even though she is from a humble family, her baby is a scion of this family! Whoever dares not comply with my word, they will face my ire!” And with that, she moves aside from her and walks away imperiously to water the flowers in the backyard.
