Abigail looked at Jefferson and sighed.
“Jeff, I know this is hard for you but that’s the truth and you must accept it or else you would be broken beyond recognition.” She sighed.
Jefferson looked at his sister not knowing what to say again. Right now he was confused. He wanted to talk but it seemed as if all that he had to say had disappeared and he didn’t remember a word.
“Ok sis, I’ll think about your words,” Jefferson replied and went out of his sister’s room.
Going out of the house he looked around and saw a tree nearby. Suddenly he frowned as he saw a figure sitting under the tree, tears flowing down the figure’s eyes.
Looking closely at the figure he discovered it was DeLorna. Seeing how heartbroken she was broke his heart even further and he didn’t know what to do.
He wanted to walk towards her but his leg was stuck to the floor and he couldn’t move an inch.
Despite his strength, Jefferson wasn’t able to move an inch. It was at that moment he knew he was powerless.
It was at that moment he had a taste of helplessness. He wanted to go and comfort his mate but it was like his legs were chained to the floor.
Jefferson’s eyes had become red at this moment but he couldn’t cry. He was the strongest so there was no way he would cry.
How would the strongest cry? It was a disgrace to their dignity and he was sure of it.
But just now he was powerless and he was the only one who knew how it feels to be powerless so he wasn’t the strongest anymore.
He knew how much DeLorna loved him and he was very sure she would never cheat on him.
But why did he do what he did? He had been trying to remember what had happened the night before but all was blurry.
Jefferson was sure someone had tampered with his memory and the person who tampered with his memory wasn’t someone weak.
The person was strong. Either as strong as him or stronger than him. Suddenly his mind went to his sister. She was the only one in the pack who was as strong as him and could easily hypnotize him.
But then he was sure his sister couldn’t have done such a thing just to make him break up with his mate.
Suddenly he remembered his sister’s words. Her words began to make his doubt grow.
He wanted to discard the thoughts but it was hard as there was a possibility of it happening.
Suddenly his mind went to the elders of the pack, they were the only ones apart from his sister who could put him under hypnosis but he was sure they weren’t at the banquet.
Those bags of bones wouldn’t leave the place they were for something like that.
So he was very sure it wasn’t the elders. Also, there was no way the elders would put him under hypnosis just to make him leave his mate.
He was sure they liked DeLorna very much.
Also, Jefferson was sure that his sister would stop the elders if they tried to put him under hypnosis.
But what Jefferson didn’t know was that it was his very sister that put him under the hypnosis spell.
Jefferson sighed and looked at the tree again only to see DeLorna had disappeared from the place he had seen her sitting.
Jefferson frowned as he panicked when he didn’t see DeLorna where she was sitting.
Where the hell could she have gone? He muttered.
Suddenly Jefferson who felt devoid of strength felt strong and his legs agreed to move away from the place he was standing.
Where was DeLorna? Where could she have gone? He wondered. Where they were was big and he couldn’t start looking for her just anywhere.
“Let it not be that she’s already on her way back to the human world,” Jefferson muttered as this was the first thought that came into his mind.
Jefferson wasn’t someone who liked going to the human world and he was afraid he might not go look for her if she went back to the human world.
Sighing his mind suddenly went to the elders. She might have gone to the elders to seek refuge. Thinking of this he sighed and headed straight to the elder’s place.

DeLorna, who had run out of Jefferson’s room heartbroken, sat under the shade of a tree as tears flowed freely from her face.
She didn’t know why she was crying as she had always been strong in these kinds of events.
She was truly broken by what had happened as she had never expected it from Jefferson.
It was the least she expected from someone like him. What was the moon goddess watching? Not doing anything to help her from her predicament.
Suddenly she raised her head and looked in the distance only to see Jefferson standing not far from her.
Seeing this the anger and disappointment which was already in her heart swelled to their highest peak and she didn’t know what to do.
Suddenly a thought came to her and she stood up from where she was sitting and headed straight to the elders’ house.
Though she wasn’t that used to the elders she had stopped being afraid of them.
Getting to the elder’s place she didn’t bother to knock and just entered the room.
Getting inside the pitch-black room DeLorna located her way to the chair and sat on it.
The elders who saw DeLorna were surprised by her sudden visit and wanted to start talking to her immediately but stopped when they noticed DeLorna’s eyes were red and swollen.
“What’s wrong dear? Why the sudden visit?” The female elder spoke up with a smile.
Her voice carried much love and was doting.
The elder’s words brought a smile to DeLorna’s face.
“I just miss you all and decided to visit.” She smiled.
“Well, that’s good of you.” The chubby-looking elder smiled.
“But care to explain the reason for the red and swollen eyes.” The tall elder smiled.
DeLorna sighed when she heard this question. She was sure the elders would ask this question though she wasn’t intending on hiding anything from them she still felt a bit reluctant to tell them.
“Don’t worry dear, tell us.” The female elder smiled.
DeLorna sighed and then explained everything to them from how she slept off before the banquet and then woke up the next morning in Abigail’s room and on going to her room met Jefferson with another woman on the bed.
DeLorna could see the visible changes in the emotions of the elders as she spoke.
After DeLorna finished a Knock suddenly came on the door before any of them could say anything.
