(THREE DAYS LATER)
Jefferson sat in the car with a smile etched on his face. His eyes carried a hint of blood lust to it. His clothes had dust on them and blood stains covered all his clothes.
Even his hair had blood on it and his eyes looked worn out. He sighed in relief as the war had finally ended and he was going back to meet his mate. On the day he was going to war after catching the two that were spying on them he felt DeLorna trying to connect to him through the mind link.
He had no choice but to block it off as he knew what she wanted to say. He was sure his sister would have delivered his message that morning. That was why she was trying to talk to him through the mind link.
He was sure there couldn’t be any trouble in the pack as his sister and the elders were in the pack and he had asked them to be on alert.
The past three days had been a lot of hell. He couldn’t believe what had happened.
The wolves were stronger than he had thought. They had gotten the help of the human hunters which infuriated him a lot.
He who had originally planned not to get involved in the battle had no choice but to fight alongside his soldiers to avoid any loss.
Though he didn’t suffer any loss as none of his soldiers were killed and we’re only injured. Also, he made sure the four leaders’ soldiers didn’t die.
The war was very fierce and he had tried his best. The past three days were very tiring even for the four leaders.
Jefferson looked at the four leaders in the car who was deep in thought.
They also look miserable.
He was sure the war had also broken them into pieces and they were trying to recover.
The four leaders had also tried their best in the war and slaughtered the hunters mercilessly.
He and the four leaders had made sure they faced the hunters and the leader of the wolves in order to avoid any casualties and this had worked well.
He would sometimes leave the hunters he was fighting to save any of the soldiers in peril.
His idea of bringing other clothes for his soldiers had worked well as they were forced to transform into their werewolves form at some point.
The other soldiers were also forced to transform at some point but due to the extra clothing, they brought they were saved from the shame of being naked.
Even the four leaders were forced to transform at some point but they were with extra clothing so they were saved from shame.
It was only he that didn’t transform as he felt he would be overestimating them if he transformed.
That was the reason his clothes were dirty and he was looking miserable.
After killing off the leader of the wolves and all the hunters Jefferson spared the members of the pack.
The four leaders wanted to refute and wanted him to take them as slaves but he refused. The four leaders had no choice but to accept his decision.
Jefferson wasn’t someone heartless and wouldn’t kill the innocent. He was sure he had taken his revenge as he was sure his malice came from the leaders of the wolf pack.
Though he was sure the families of the soldiers would be devastated but it was none of his concerns.
It wasn’t his fault that they were killed.
If they wanted to blame someone they should blame their alpha. He was the cause. He was the one that had brought up the buried feud between them.
Right now he wanted nothing more than to return to the pack and be with his mate.
The problem he badly wanted to solve had been solved so all that remained now was to go back to his pack and live a peaceful life and have babies with his mate. He was going to make out with his mate this night once he got to the pack after the party he was giving to throw.
But what Jefferson didn’t know was that fate always had different ways of planning things. He couldn’t just get his wish to come through just like that. Fate must interfere in one way or the other.
Suddenly the car they were in came to a stop. Jefferson sighed and alighted from the car with the other four leaders.
They had come to the place they had set off three days ago. They had ordered the soldiers to drive back to this place as they wanted to have a little talk first.
“Let’s go,” Jefferson sighed and proceeded into the building.
The four leaders sighed and followed Jefferson. Getting into the building the five took their seats as silence ensued between them.
“What do you want to talk about?” Jefferson sighed when the silence became unbearable.
“Why did you appoint another leader for the wolves and even promised to groom him to be strong enough to lead the pack?” The chubby-looking leader sighed looking at Jefferson.
Jefferson sighed and looked at the four leaders.
He wasn’t a heartless being so there was no way he was going to kill the innocents.
Right after the war he told the whole pack the reason for their attack and exposed their Alpha’s atrocity after that he appointed another leader for the pack. Someone he was sure had the right potential to lead the pack to a prosperous future. He was sure the four leaders weren’t happy with his decision but he was too lazy to explain.
“Do you have other questions?” He sighed.
“We should have taken them as our slaves and looted their pack. Why didn’t you allow us to do that?” The tall muscular leader frowned.
Hearing their questions Jefferson sighed and stood up from his seat.
“You understand very soon.” He sighed. He wasn’t in the mood to explain any of his actions to them as he felt it would be a drag explaining them.
The four leaders sighed and didn’t say anything but followed Jefferson out of the building.
“This is where we part ways. We met another time,” Jefferson smiled and entered one of the cars his soldiers brought.
By the time they came out the soldiers had already sorted themselves out and had entered the cars they brought along.
Though some had made friends among themselves and even promised to come to visit at their respective pack. They were reluctant to part ways as they were now life-and-death brothers because of the war.
The soldiers saluted themselves before they entered their respective cars and drove off with their leaders.
