DeLorna woke up, her eyes heavy. She tossed and turned on the bed feeling tired. She hadn’t done much work the day before and had only had a series of tours with Jefferson in the pack. This was what she had done throughout the week. Touring the pack wasn’t much work but she was feeling tired.
She remembered she had a quiet argument with Jefferson the night before.
He was talking about how many babies he would love to have with her when he comes back from the war, which made her become shy and pretend to be asleep. But unfortunately, before she knew it, sleep took her away and she soon went into the fantasy world.
There were a lot of things she wanted to say to him but the sleep had interrupted and hadn’t allowed her to say all that was in her mind.
Turning around on the king-size bed she realized she was the only one on the king-size bed. Immediately she sat up and looked around the room. She was waiting for Jefferson to emerge from the washroom. Maybe he had gone to ease himself or to come into the room from the door.
She thought maybe he might have gone out and would be back soon as she was sure he would have known she had awoken.
Waiting for over ten minutes nothing happened. The door of the room didn’t open nor did the door to the washroom open nor was any sound coming out of the washroom.
The more DeLorna waited the more she became alarmed. Her heart was heaving up and down in fear that for a moment she forgot how strong Jefferson was.
But why in hell was she scared? She muttered to herself.
“Calm down nothing is giving to happen to Jefferson he’s the strongest you know.” A small voice muttered in DeLorna’s head.
Yeah, he’s the strongest thing that could ever happen to him. DeLorna muttered to herself.
Sighing she pushed all her thoughts to the back of her mind and stood up from the bed intending to head out of the room to look for Jefferson.
Before she could get to the door, the door of the room opened and Abigail came in with a smile on her face.
Seeing Abigail come into the room a smile appeared on DeLorna’s face.
“Have you seen Jefferson this morning? I haven’t seen him since I woke up.” She forced a smile despite the panic in her heart.
Hearing DeLorna’s question Abigail smiled and walked closer to her.
“Jeff left for the war the night before when you were asleep. He won’t be back for days. He said I should take care of you well,” Abigail smiled.
Hearing Abigail’s words DeLorna sighed in relief. It was then she remembered that Jefferson told her he was going to war the next day. All she thought was that he was going to leave the next morning and she was going to be able to say goodbye. She was a little bit angry that Jefferson left without informing her or letting her say goodbye.
She wondered why she was panicking earlier when she didn’t see him beside her. She should have known that he went to the war.
“So what are you going to do today,” Abigail smiled.
She was only pretending to like DeLorna for the sake of Jefferson or else she would have shown her true colour to DeLorna. She hated DeLorna to the core and she couldn’t explain the reason for the hatred but who cares.
“I’m feeling a little bit tired. I’ll be in my room for the time being,” DeLorna walked back to the bed, laying back on it and using the quilt to cover her body and yawning loudly.
“It’s fine then,” Abigail smiled and walked out of the room.
She should have known better and shouldn’t have said anything. Anyways, who cared she had just come to tell DeLorna where Jefferson had gone.
DeLorna sighed, tossing and turning around on the bed. She only wanted Abigail to get out of her room as she didn’t want anything to do with her.
She didn’t feel comfortable around Abigail.
Abigail was someone strong. She was as strong as Jefferson. Though Jefferson had assured her that he was the strongest Sue still had a lingering fear of her.
She could never forget the incident when she came to the pack when Abigail had come into her room and released pressure from her body which made her cringe in fear.
She was sure she would have been dead that night if it was not for Jefferson who had arrived on time to save her. Ever since then she had a lingering fear of Abigail.
Jefferson had also told her stories about Abigail and how strong and merciless she was to her enemies. These stories alone made her have an absolute fear of Abigail.
Sighing, DeLorna sat up on the bed and tried to use the mind link to talk to Jefferson.
Focusing the atmosphere in the room dropped to its lowest as DeLorna tried to concentrate.
She tried her best but she couldn’t get over Jefferson. She felt as if a kind of huge barrier was blocking her and preventing her from reaching Jefferson.
She tried and tried but to no avail, she couldn’t just reach out to him. It felt as if it was an impossible task to reach out to him.
After about ten minutes of trying and failing DeLorna finally gave up and lay back on the bed wanting to go back to sleep.
Sleeping was the only thing that could ease her fatigue right now. She had exhausted all her strength trying to get over Jefferson just now.
Though she was sure that he was perfectly fine and safe she couldn’t help but worry about him.
She was praying to the moon goddess to protect Jefferson and make him arrive back at the pack safely. Nothing must happen to him or else she didn’t know what might happen to her.
She kept convincing herself that he would be fine as he was the strongest. Though she didn’t know if he was the strongest in the super supernatural world.
All she hoped was that an accident wouldn’t happen that would take Jefferson away from her.
All these thoughts alone rendered her weak and unable to sleep even though she was tired.
She tossed and turned on the bed trying to sleep but many scenarios kept coming into her mind telling her the probability of what might happen that could make her lose Jefferson.
She had tried her best to push the thoughts away but they kept coming back. The thoughts were rather stubborn and refused to leave her.
After about an hour of turning and tossing on the bed, DeLorna didn’t know when her eyelids become heavy and she fell into a sound sleep.
