DeLorna was still dumbfounded by Jefferson’s actions. She didn’t know why he had flared up against the elders. Anyway, she liked the feeling of being protected by her mate.
She could hear the dead seriousness in his voice when he was talking to the elders and guessed he must mean all that he was saying and wasn’t joking.
In truth, she was scared by the strange reaction of the elders and guessed Jefferson must have noticed her fears and thus became angry at the elders for making her afraid.
Well, who cares. She raised her head and looked at Jefferson who was looking at the sky.
“What’s up there to look at?” DeLorna frowned.
Jefferson, who was drowned in his sea of thoughts, came back to his senses when he heard DeLorna’s words.
Looking at DeLorna he smiled. “I was just out for a moment. Those elders didn’t scare you right.” He smiled.
“I wasn’t too scared,” DeLorna smiled.
“But at least you were scared. if it was another person I would have sent them to hell for scaring you,” Jefferson smiled.
Hearing Jefferson’s words a bright smile appeared on DeLorna’s face. She was happy with the way Jefferson was overprotective of her. Though she wasn’t sure if she would allow him to kill anyone just because the person made her scared.
“Don’t cut down the trees anymore or change this place. I think I like it like this,” DeLorna suddenly said, looking into Jefferson’s eyes and waiting for an answer.
Jefferson was taken aback for a moment when he heard DeLorna’s words.
“Why? Did any of the elders threaten you in any way?” He frowned.
He knew the elders well. They might have threatened her with their aura. Since he was stronger than them even if they released their aura he wouldn’t notice.
Hearing Jefferson’s words DeLorna burst into laughter. “Why would you think so?” She managed to ask amidst her laughter.
“I don’t trust any of the elders. They might have tried to threaten you with their aura when I mentioned that you didn’t like the smell of this place,” Jefferson explained as he smiled wryly.
Jefferson’s words made DeLorna burst into another round of laughter. “Do you think anyone can threaten me once you’re by my side?” DeLorna smiled.
“Yeah, that’s it. No one can threaten you once I’m by your side,” Jefferson smiled as he said proudly.
Suddenly DeLorna’s stomach growled loudly and a pang of hunger even stronger than the first hit her.
Jefferson rubbed his head as he looked at DeLorna whose face had gone red.
“Let’s go get something for you to eat.” He smiled.
“I’m too tired to walk, carry me,” DeLorna pouted.
Hearing DeLorna’s words Jefferson smiled wryly. He knew DeLorna well and she wouldn’t move a spot until he carried her. He would have carried her but he was worried about his dignity in the pack.
“So you won’t carry me,” DeLorna said with tears flowing down her cheeks.
Seeing tears flowing down DeLorna’s cheeks Jefferson was thrown into a dilemma and didn’t know what to do.
He hadn’t said he wouldn’t carry her but he had only stood motionless and refused to do anything and now his mate was crying saying he refused to carry her. His mate would never cease to surprise him.
Sighing he carried DeLorna in a bridal style and disappeared right before the maids around could see anything.

Five minutes later DeLorna was sitting on a chair in the dining room. The maids were serving her food while Jefferson sat looking at her and watched her eat.
“Wouldn’t you eat?” DeLorna frowned when she saw that the maids didn’t serve Jefferson any food.
“No I’m okay,” Jefferson smiled, looking away.
“Don’t mind him that’s what he does,” Abigail who was at the dining with them cut in before DeLorna could reply.
Immediately DeLorna signalled to the maids who were still standing patiently by the side to serve Jefferson his meal.
Jefferson smiled bitterly when he saw DeLorna’s actions. He didn’t want to eat as he wasn’t hungry.
Though he loved meat he didn’t eat most of the time something which caused fights between him and his sister most of the time.
This time he had no choice but to eat the food because of DeLorna.
Some minutes later they all finished their food. The maids around packed the plates away from the dining while DeLorna satisfactorily rubbed her stomach.
“I’ve had to fill. It remains to take a look at the pack,” DeLorna smiled.
“Sure,” Jefferson smiled and stood up going out of the dining room with DeLorna.
Abigail, who was at the table, had a smirk on her face. Lately, she had been nice to Delorna, and DeLorna who was rather naive didn’t think much about it but was rather happy with her actions.
****
The day was rather eventful for DeLorna as she visited all the places in the pack that day but it left her tired that Jefferson had to carry her back to their room.
“I’m so tired I could sleep from now till next year,” DeLorna yawned as he lay on the bed.
“Why don’t you take a shower before you sleep,” Jefferson smiled.
“I would but I’m too tired,” DeLorna yawned Rollin around on the bed.
“What if I bathe you?” Jefferson asked with a smirk on his face.
Hearing his words DeLorna who was feeling sleepy jumped from the bed at a lightning speed and entered into the bathroom room to take a shower.
In no time she was done with the shower.
Going to Jefferson’s wardrobe she ransacked the wardrobe for one of his pyjamas.
Only after a long time did she find one. Not minding it was too big and baggy on her body she wore it and went back to the bed lying down beside Jefferson.
Jefferson looked at DeLorna with a smile on his as she climbed the bed.
“Give me a good night kiss.” He smiled.
DeLorna went closer to Jefferson and pecked him on the lip before falling back to the bed.
“Is this a kiss?” Jefferson said looking confused.
But alas he got no reply from DeLorna she was already fast asleep.
Seeing that DeLorna was fast asleep Jefferson smiled. He knew with how naughty she was she would have challenged him to a kiss war with his words.
He took the quilt and covered her well.
She was dearest to her and he must make sure nothing happens to her.
After making sure she was comfortable he sighed and got out of bed heading out of the room.
