Some minutes later DeLorna was done washing up.
Coming out of the bathroom with water dripping from her body while covered in a towel she went to the cupboard and looked at some of Jefferson’s clothes before deciding to wear one of them.
Jefferson, who was deep in thought, didn’t notice that DeLorna was wearing his clothes.
It was not until DeLorna wore his clothes and went towards him tapping h before he came back to his senses.
“What the hell, why are you wearing my clothes?” Jefferson exclaimed in shock when he saw DeLorna in his clothes.
“When I don’t have my clothes, what do you want me to wear? Also, I feel it looks good on me,” DeLorna smiled, looking innocent.
Jefferson sighed and looked at DeLorna. What could he ever do to this girl? He just loved her and could stop loving her. The clothes she was wearing looked oversized, especially the shirt.
She looked like a cute little girl in the shirt she wore.
Suddenly DeLorna’s stomach growled loudly. Immediately Jefferson raised his head and looked at DeLorna who looked at him shyly.
“Let’s get I’ll get you something to eat when we get to the elder’s place,” He smiled and stood up from the bed.
“Aren’t you going to wash up you’re stinking,” DeLorna said with a wrinkled nose.
“No I’m good,” Jefferson smiled.
“I’ll be going nowhere if you don’t take a bath,” DeLorna pouted and sat on the bed looking at Jefferson.
Jefferson, seeing this, sighed. He was sure DeLorna would refuse to go anywhere if he didn’t take a bath as she had demanded, sighing, he removed his clothes leaving only his shorts before entering the toilet.
Some minutes later he came out with water dripping all over his body.
Looking at DeLorna who was staring at him he smiled. He knew she was mesmerized by his muscular chest.
“Aren’t you mesmerized by my chest? Do you want to stare at it all day?” He smiled.
Hearing his words DeLorna smiled.
“I wasn’t staring at your chest,” DeLorna denied.
Jefferson sighed and proceeded to wear his clothes.
Some minutes later he was done. Clad in a white shirt and blue jeans DeLorna smiled satisfactorily seeing this.
“Now I can inhale without being choked.” She smiled.
Jefferson shook his head hearing her words. His mate was one of a kind. He would never stop being amused by her.
“Let’s go!” he sighed, pushing at the thoughts to the back of his mind and walked out of the room with DeLorna tagging behind.
Getting out of the room they went out of the house. The Sun had already risen by the time they got out of the house.
“It’s so beautiful but I’m hungry,” DeLorna pouted looking at Jefferson while holding his arms.
Jefferson smiled looking at DeLorna. “Don’t worry I’ll get you something to eat once we are at the elder’s place.”
DeLorna nodded her head like a child who was promised candy and held onto Jefferson’s hands as they walked along the tarred road.
Along the way, DeLorna was chattering telling Jefferson about her life before she met him and how she didn’t believe in supernatural creatures not until he appeared In front of her.
Jefferson would smile gently looking at DeLorna while she talked.
Sometimes fate was such a mysterious thing he had never known he would fall for his mate in such a manner. He was deeply in love with her and he would consider anything she did as right no matter what it was. He didn’t know what he was drawn to in her. Was it her innocent gaze that made him feel lost in himself or was it her soft voice that made his heart flutter anytime he heard it? He didn’t know. He was just grateful to the moon goddess for giving him such a mate.
Along the way to the elder’s place the pack members whom they encountered would greet the both of them. Jefferson would reply with a bright smile and DeLorna would also smile brightly at the person.
The pack members were confused at Jefferson’s actions that morning.
They knew him to be someone cold and unsmiling but here he was smiling and there was a girl even holding his hands and chattering nonstop. They knew well that Their Alpha wasn’t talkative and also didn’t like someone who takes a lot. But they were surprised to see him with DeLorna, who was talking non-stop.
Though they knew the girl who was holding their Alpha’s hands was his mate they were surprised to see their Alpha smiling while holding hands with her.
Along the way, DeLorna would hug the children she met and play a little with them before they continued on their way.
Jefferson would just watch on with a smile and wouldn’t say anything. He also wanted kids but didn’t want kids from any woman except his mate. Anyway, they were going to war by the next week. He couldn’t wait till next week to be here as he was eager to live a peaceful life with his mate after the war.
He didn’t know how he was feeling right now just looking at his mate but he knew he was very happy. So happy that he couldn’t describe the feeling he was having at the moment.
Soon they got to the elder’s place. The place was very different from the other parts of the pack.
DeLorna wrinkled her nose perceiving the wood and flower mixed scent in the air. “Why is this place smelling like this?” She faced Jefferson.
“Don’t you like the smell?” Jefferson smiled.
“Not at all I don’t like it. It’s repulsive to me,” DeLorna replied, covering her nose with her hands.
Jefferson smiled seeing DeLorna’s actions. Her actions looked cute to him. It was like a little girl who had just perceived the odour of something terrible and didn’t like it.
“Don’t worry babe, I’ll tell the elders you don’t like the smell around here and clear off everything that gives off the smell,” Jefferson smiled.
“Ohh thanks, babe,” DeLorna smiled and kissed Jefferson on the lips.
She didn’t realize it was the request of the elders for everything here to have this smell as they loved it.
The maids who were cleaning up the palace looked up and saw Jefferson with DeLorna.
Immediately they stood up and stopped what they were doing to greet the duo.
DeLorna smiled at the maids hearing their greetings. She was very happy today as she had never received that level of respect and was overwhelmed by it but she didn’t allow it to enter her head and behaved courteously to everyone who greeted her and Jefferson.
Soon the two got to the Elder’s door and Jefferson pushed open the door and entered the room.
As usual, there was no source of light in the room and it was all dark as it used to be but Jefferson could see pretty well so the elders.
DeLorna squinted her eyes as she entered the dark room. She held Jefferson’s arms tightly as she couldn’t see a thing.
“It’s so dark in here.” She whispered to Jefferson.
“Don’t worry I’ll switch in the light,” Jefferson smiled.
The elders who were inside looked at Jefferson who entered the room and wondered what he was doing at their place this early but seeing DeLorna behind him a smile appeared on their faces.
“It’s dark in here and my mate can’t see a thing so I’ll switch on the light,” Jefferson said looking at the elders.
The elders nodded and didn’t say anything.
“Give me a minute I’ll switch on the light in here,” Jefferson whispered to DeLorna while removing his arms from her grip.
“Please don’t take long,” DeLorna whispered. She was very afraid. She had always been scared of the dark since she was a child and now no exception she was scared.
Jefferson smiled as he removed his arms from DeLorna’s grip and went to switch on the light in the room.
Instantly the place became bright. DeLorna had to use her hands to shield her eyes as her eyes were already used to the darkness.
After a while, she opened her eyes and looked around. The elders were sitting on a chair surrounding a table looking at her. At the same time, she was standing in front of a chair. She looked at Jefferson who was standing by her side and held his hands tightly.
“I’ve brought her so what next,” Jefferson smiled looking at the elders.
He was still feeling annoyed with them due to their actions of doubting him yesterday night.
Hearing Jefferson’s words the elders sighed. They knew he was still angry at them for doubting him yesterday night. But well who cares.
“Good morning elders. I’m DeLorna by name. Jefferson’s mate,” DeLorna smiled at the elders and bowed slightly.
She was feeling a little bit uncomfortable with the way the elders were staring at her.
Hearing the way DeLorna introduced herself the elders knew she was feeling uncomfortable.
Immediately they smiled at her.
The females amongst the elders signalled her to come over.
DeLorna was scared out of her.
“You’re scaring my mate. I’ll take her away if you continue scaring her,” Jefferson growled seeing the way DeLorna was scared.
Hearing this a sigh spread amongst the elders. “We’re sorry but we don’t mean to scare you, we just don’t know what to say, that’s why the atmosphere is heavy.” The chubby-looking elder said.
“Then why did you say I should bring her then,” Jefferson frowned.
“Because we wanted to see her.” The tall elder said.
“Since you’ve all seen her we would be taking our leave,” Jefferson said holding DeLorna intending to take her out of the place.
“She was hungry anyway before we came. I’ll go get her something to eat.” He continued.
“Also I forgot to tell you something,” Jefferson suddenly stopped and looked at the elders.
“My mate didn’t like the scent of your place so I would be cutting off anything that is causing the smell.” He continued.
The elder’s face changed. They knew if they didn’t talk he would cut off the trees. From his actions, they were sure he was overprotective of his mate.
The female amongst the elders sighed. “We know you’re annoyed with us for what happened yesterday night, please forgive us.
We want to talk to your mate about many things. We also want to give you two our blessings but that would be after you came back from the war. But you can go since you said she’s hungry and go get her something to eat. But assure us that she’ll come back to see us.” She said looking at Jefferson.
Jefferson sighed hearing the elder’s words. She was the elder he respected the most out of all the elders and wouldn’t want to disrespect her.
“Ok, I’ve forgiven you. But I can’t promise to bring my mate back here because I don’t know if she’s willing to come back here,” Jefferson smiled.
“Also about the issue you can do anything that’ll satisfy you mate. We’re okay with it.” The elder who was the most silent amongst all the elders said and the remaining nodded their heads.
“Since it’s all settled, can we leave?” Jefferson smiled.
“Yeah you can leave,” The elders sighed.
Immediately, Jefferson took DeLorna’s hands and headed out of the place.
Getting out of the elder’s place he heaved a sigh of relief. What the hell were the elders thinking? He wasn’t going to bring DeLorna back to this place no matter what.
Why did the elders say he should bring his mate when they knew they had nothing to tell her. from the way they acted earlier he didn’t know if they were nervous or not. All he knew was that their actions had scared the hell out of DeLorna, something he didn’t like.
If not because he was trying to respect the elders he would have flared up the moment his mate got scared.
