Jefferson, who has transformed back to his human form, looked at the unconscious DeLorna. Right now he was feeling very agitated.
She had used his life to save him. Though it wasn’t necessary it had meant a lot to him. He had never expected his mate to use her life for him. He could tell the love she had for him was deep.
He couldn’t help but caress her face gently as she smiled though he was naked right now he could care less about it.
Abigail who had also transformed back to human wasn’t naked as she put on back her nightwear. Only God knew how she was able to retain it. Though the nightwear was in the form of robes.
“Jeff, let’s go back to the pack and I’m sure she’ll be alright. The wolf bane in her system won’t have any effect, don’t forget she’s just a human so we have to go back to the pack quickly to avoid the situation becoming complicated,” Abigail said walking closer to Jefferson.
Jefferson nodded and stood up crying DeLorna in his arms preparing to go back to the pack.
“Let’s go….”
Jefferson suddenly stopped talking as he frowned.
Suddenly he jumped to the side evading a gunshot.
“Not so fast. I was surprised you could dodge the bullet even though there was a silencer in the gun.”
A voice said immediately Jefferson avoided the incoming bullet.
Immediately Jefferson raised his head looking in the direction where the voice came from.
“Why are you hiding?” He growled.
“Not too fast, beast.” The voice replied.
Abigail by Jefferson’s side was also confused hearing the figure’s voice. Though she had also sensed it when the owner of the voice shot Jefferson she didn’t do anything as she was sure Jefferson also felt it. Doing something would be more harm than good so she stood where she was and waited for him to dodge the incoming bullet.
“I’ll pull out your intestines alive and make you eat them,” Abigail growled at the voice.
“Ahhh! That’s if you can find me,” The voice laughed.
Abigail and Jefferson frowned. Because they couldn’t find where the figure was they felt a little bit threatened. They weren’t comfortable and were instead in a panic.
“What should we do?” Jefferson turned to Abigail.
“You shouldn’t take your eyes off me.” The figure suddenly said.
Immediately Jefferson frowned and shifted to the side evading a bullet.
“Sis what are we going to do?” Jefferson asked Abigail as he was starting to get angered. The pain of his mate already weighed on him.
He didn’t have time to be playing any games with the hunter who was lurking around and was shooting randomly.
He would have found the hunter from the voice but the hunter was rather clever and would change location each time he spoke which made Jefferson mad.
“Put her down,” Abigail said to Jefferson.
Immediately, Jefferson understood what his sister was trying to do. The two had a kind of special connection to each other allowing them to know each other intentions.
Immediately he put down DeLorna who he was holding all this while and smirked while looking around the woods.
Next, the cracking of bones could be heard as Jefferson transformed to his lycanthrope form and disappeared same as Abigail who had transformed and disappeared.
Abigail with a rather good hearing had noticed the hunter had fled because he knew he wouldn’t be able to beat them and had rather gone far. So she asked her brother to put down his mate so they could go after the hunter.
She knew that in a normal condition Jeffrey wouldn’t be willing to chase after the hunter. But now that his mate was shot it was a good time to make use of his anger.
She was going to make sure they eradicated all the hunters in the forest that night as she was sure there were still others lurking around.
So she had left the innocent man to run far before following him.
Following the hunter was a rather easy thing for Jefferson and Abigail as their speed could not be matched.
The hunter, who was a chubby man, had been running after he thought he had managed to trick the two into looking for him.
He had regretted looking for their trouble in the first place. Since he shot Jefferson twice and dodged, he knew the two were no easy target and had taken to his heels.
But he didn’t expect that they would come after him.
After running for what seemed like an eternity he stopped in thinking he lost them while panting heavily.
Suddenly a huge figure flashed in front of him.
Immediately his eyes opened wide in shock as he began another run. This time he didn’t stop and continued to run.
Abigail and Jefferson followed the hunter in their beast form and continued to follow him.
The hunter who was running suddenly came across a group of hunters surrounding a figure groaning in pain while they laughed in delight.
“Didn’t you say we’ll die a miserable death.” one of the hunters laughed.
“Harry, why are you running and what’s chasing you?” One of the hunters surrounding the figure group groaning in pain laughed when he looked up and saw the hunter chased by Jefferson and Abigail.
The hunter stayed and tried to catch his breath. “I’ll suggest you all leave the woods tonight quickly or else you won’t live to see tomorrow.” He said panting.
The other hunters weirdly looked at him wondering what he meant.
Seeing the hunters weirdly looking at him he sighed and explained the situation to them.
But his explanation made the hunter’s eyes shine.
“It’s just that we are going to catch some more before we leave.” One of the hunters laughed.
Immediately the hunters laughed, agreeing with him.
Immediately they faced the figure groaning in pain. “Don’t worry we’ll allow you to witness the death of your kind.” One of them said and laughed.
The figure who also heard what the hunter explained to the other hunters smiled.
“I’m very sorry but it seems like you are not leaving the woods tonight.” He managed to say amidst his pain.
immediately the hunters frowned hearing his statement.
“What do you mean?” one of them yelled.
“If you know what’s upon you. You’ll leave the forest at once.” The figure laughed.
