The pack members all had shocked expressions on their faces. They were murmuring amongst themselves.
How in hell had their Alpha found his mate? Not to talk about the fact that she was a human. They didn’t want to agree with his words. But they knew their Alpha he never jokes when it came to the mating bond issues or important issues.
They knew how strong their Alpha was and they expected his mate also to be strong. But here she was a weakling. They didn’t want to accept the fact that their Alpha was mated to a weakling.
Abigail looked at the pack members’ shocked expressions. She could tell they weren’t satisfied with what Jefferson had told them and didn’t want to believe it.
“In the future, she’ll have the highest position in the pack right after me as my Luna so you should all respect her,” Jefferson said, feeling satisfied with himself.
Immediately another gasp spread around the crowd as they couldn’t believe their ears. They couldn’t believe their Alpha was giving a weakling the most important position in the pack right after his. They wanted to say something to oppose but none of them dared to speak up.
Jefferson knew his sister wasn’t bothered about having an important position in the pack. So he had given the position to his mate. Though the old demons of the pack hadn’t known yet. He was sure they would oppose his decision but he couldn’t be bothered by what they would say.
Abigail smiled hearing her brother declare DeLorna as the Luna of the pack even though she wasn’t a werewolf or a lycan. Though she hated her because she was a human and for some other reasons known to her. She wouldn’t show it in front of the pack members.
“That’s it for tonight you should all go back to your abode and rest. Tomorrow will be upon us soon. Don’t worry the victim of the attack would be taken care of,” Jefferson said, making the crowd disperse.
The members of the pack dispersed after hearing what Jefferson said while they talked amongst themselves.
“Want to go have some fun,” Jefferson grinned at DeLorna who was looking confused.
“Jeff, what do you think you are saying? Are you thinking of bringing her along?” Abigail frowned.
“Sis, I have no choice but to bring Ng with us now as it’s the best time for her to witness it. She’ll still have to witness it sooner or later but it’ll be better if she witnesses it now,” Jefferson replied.
Abigail sighed and didn’t know what to say.
Though she knew he was right. Although his mate was a human she had come to another world where she’ll have to kill to survive whether she liked it or not. But what if something went wrong?
She and Jefferson had planned to finish off the hunters who had attacked the member of their pack. Though they hadn’t communicated verbally they had used their expressions to say what they’ll do next. So she wondered why he was talking to his mate.
DeLorna who was still confused about what was happening was even more confused hearing the discussion between Jefferson and Abigail. So she looked at Jefferson with questioning eyes waiting for him to answer.
“Don’t worry dear, you’ll understand when we get there,” Jefferson smiled when he saw DeLorna looking at him with questioning eyes.
DeLorna became even more confused with his reply and wanted to ask more questions.
“Don’t ask any more human questions. You’ll understand when the time is right.”
Abigail suddenly said before DeLorna was able to ask any more questions.
“Hop on my back and we’ll get going,” Jefferson said to DeLorna.
Immediately DeLorna’s face became red as she refused to get on Jefferson’s back.
“I have my legs and I can walk.” She pouted.
“We don’t have much time, human. Get on his back. Don’t you try to act innocent? I knew what you two were doing earlier?”
Abigail suddenly said as Jefferson was thinking of a way to convince her.
“Sis, that was harsh,” Jefferson said to his sister.
“I have no choice. We have to leave quickly before those measly hunters leave,” Abigail replied.
DeLorna, who was still confused, suddenly understood everything. It turned out the two were going after the hunters who attacked the member of their pack for revenge.
But then why did Jefferson ask her to follow them? She was sure she was going to witness a gruesome scene very soon as she was sure they wouldn’t show mercy to the hunters.
She didn’t want to go immediately; she understood what she was going to witness.
But with the way Abigail was staring at she knew she had no other choice but to follow them.
Hoping on Jefferson’s back she sighed and waited for their next move.
“Hold on tightly,” Jefferson said, making DeLorna wrap her tiny hands against his waist tightly.
“Sis let’s go,” Jefferson said to Abigail who was by his side.
“Jeff, let’s have a race and see who’ll arrive at the woods first. If I beat you. You’ll have to go on the date I asked you to. But if you win I won’t bring up the issues again,” Abigail smirked at her brother.
Immediately Jefferson smiled. “Deal,” he said.
He had always been trying secretly to compare who was the strongest between him and his sister. But she had never given him a chance. But right now he was going to try to measure it.
“Start!” Abigail suddenly said.
Immediately the both of them sped off into the woods.
DeLorna who was on Jefferson’s back held on tightly as the both of them ran at a speed she couldn’t imagine.
They both weren’t in their lycan form and yet they were as fast as this. She wondered how fast they would be once they transformed.
Some minutes later DeLorna suddenly felt Jefferson stop.
She who was already enjoying the ride and had closed her eyes opened them slowly only to see that they were already in the woods.
The place Jefferson was standing was an open place with trees surrounding the place.
Some seconds later. Abigail’s figure appeared beside Jefferson.
“You win. You’re only lucky because the effect of the alcohol is still present in my body,” Abigail said.
Jefferson smiled and didn’t say anything. He knew his sister would look for excuses as to why he was able to win.
Suddenly a gunshot was heard not far from where they were.
Immediately Jefferson dropped DeLorna slowly on the floor as he became alert while looking around.
Abigail right now was also high on alert and had taken a fighting stance.
