He was puzzled too. Not by the appearance of the wings but by how they were glowing, they never glowed. He was out flying today and they did not glow, he had come out a thousand times at night to fly and they never glowed. He chose to ignore it, he will look into it later. He looked at her again.
“Ready?” He asked again.
He wanted to be sure, not to take her by surprise. She did not look doubtful and afraid anymore, she looked excited. Staring at the wings. And he took off.

She felt like someone was watching her in her sleep and she woke up. Someone was watching her, it was the white-winged man. His face was just inches away from hers and he stood straight and took some paces away from her when she opened her eyes and saw him. She wanted to tell him to come closer.
She wanted to tell him how handsome he was and she longed to be touched by him, how his lazy silver eyes swept her off her feet, how his thick long lashes looked beautiful, how she was feeling some kind of way towards him. But she could not, she had only met him and she wanted to know him well enough.
She asked what he was doing to her and he responded, he was waking her up for the flight. She knew it was a lie. She knew what he meant by the flight but she asked him again, just so as to hear his deep, masculine voice. She stood up and went into the bathroom and looked into the little mirror on the wall, her face looked dull.
Of course, it would, she had been sleeping for a long while, she bent down and turned on the water and washed her face and cleaned it. She looked up again, it was perfect. She stepped out of the room and he was still there as she hoped. She went to him and told him she was ready and he took her hands, his big palms wrapped up her small ones and his felt heavy.
They took turns and descended stairs and just when she was about to ask if they still had a long way to go, they came before a mighty, big door and it opened up.
They went outside and she looked around, where was this place and what was it called? It looked extremely beautiful, the lights in the houses shone bright and there were even lights in the streets.
He carried her in his arms bridal style so suddenly that she gasped. His arms felt big and a small safe haven for her, she felt like she was in a world of her own, a world far from the torments of the gammas in a bid to make her strong, a world far away from the clutches of her mother.
When he asked her if she was ready, she glanced at his wings, would they really work? She nodded slowly and in a split second, his wings flew open, widely. Her eyes went wide and her mouth hung open. They were real after all. They were white, a pure white and they were glowing.
He asked her again if she was ready and she nodded again. He told her to tighten up her grip, she was yet to do so when he took off. She was flabbergasted, the wings were flapping together and they rose above ground level. She was just staring at the flapping glowing wings until he spoke to her.
“Stop looking at the wings and look down.” He said.
She did. She looked down and her grip tightened, the city looked far off from where they were and it looked even more beautiful.
The lights were bright and lovely. She could not get enough of the view. She was still looking when he whispered into her ear.
“You like it?” He asked in a whisper.
She could only nod. She looked up at his handsome face. She wanted to say ‘it’s beautiful, just like you’. But what came out was,
“It’s beautiful.”
He suspended in the air, letting her take in the beautiful view of the city and letting him take in her own beautiful view. They remained in the air for a long time.
“You want to go back?” He asked Kiara.
She shook her head. She did not. She wanted to be there forever, in his arms, suspended in the air and looking at the beautiful city.

They remained like that for a long time and he finally decided to go back, his glowing wings were beginning to be a thing of concern for him. He flew her back to the house and when they got to the door, he retrieved his wings and kept Kiara down gently. She looked excited and he was happy he could make her happy. They went into the house and they met with his brothers. The men saw them and smiled at them but they did not say a word to Mark. They had to give him time to bond with his mate and though they were excited, they had to give them space.
Mark took her into his room and when she got inside, she sighed and sat on the bed. She looked at him and he also stared at her. He knew what will follow that stare and he was not ready to speak. He turned around to go but she called him and he turned around to look at her.
“I will not answer that.” He spoke.
She knotted her brows. She only wanted to ask when next he will take her flying again.
“You are not going to answer what?” She asked.
He cleared his throat and made his voice like hers and mimicked her.
“What am I doing here, who are you, where is this place? I will not answer that.” He said.
