She laughed. It was cute that he was trying to mimic.
“I was not going to ask that but now that you have said it…” She could not continue her sentence.
He opened the door and left. She smiled to herself and stood up and got into the bathroom. She took her bath and when she came out of the bathroom, the human girl was there. Standing by the corner of the room, Kiara saw the cloth on the bed and she knew that the human girl came to give her more clothes.
The girl bowed when she saw Kiara and Kiara greeted her back, Kiara wanted to call her by her name but she could not recall the name.
“Sorry, I forgot your name, what is it again?” Kiara asked.
She went into the closet and the human girl followed her. She sat on the chair in the closet and the girl stood behind her, she was beginning to wonder if the girl was sent to follow her every move. When she sat down, the girl insisted on helping her with everything and she let the girl do it. She asked again for the girl’s name and she answered.
Sarah, her name was Sarah. Sarah gave her another silky gown to wear but this time, it was not blue but pink. She wore it and went out of the closet to the room and sat on the bed. The girl turned to go but she called her back.
“Sarah, can you please tell me what this place is?” Kiara asked politely.
The girl bowed.
“I am sorry my Lady but I can not tell you anything. It is not in my place too.” The human girl said and rushed out of the room.
Kiara sighed and looked around if she could find something to get busy with, but there was none, so she laid back on the bed.
*** MARK’S P. O. V ***
He came out of his room leaving Kiara in there. He saw Sarah on his way to the meeting hall and asked her to take another gown up to Kiara. He proceeded to the meeting room and when he arrived, his brothers were already sitting, waiting for him. The meeting room was a big room and had a large long table in the centre of it and chairs surrounding the table, his brothers sat two on each side of the table and he normally sat on the head chair. He was the leader of the guardians. He sat down too and cleared his throat.
“I have a problem.” He said.
All of them were looking at him with concern now. They were brothers and they loved and cared for each other.
“We saw you with Kiara and you looked happy, is something wrong with her?” Jeff asked.
Shawn gasped and everyone including Mark looked at him expectantly. He turned to look at Mark with eyes widened.
“Did you tell her she is your mate and she rejected you?” Mark asked.
His brothers turned to him again. Expecting an answer. He opened his mouth to speak but Shawn gasped again, even louder. His brothers turned again to Shawn.
“Or maybe the protective barrier we sealed around the house has broken and her people know she is here and they are on their way here,” Shawn said again.
His brothers turned to him again.
“Nothing like that has happened Shawn. Let me speak.” He said.
No one spoke again, they all had their eyes on him.
“Jeff.” He called.
The blue-eyed Angel responded.
“When you found Gwen, did your wings glow? I mean, a bright light kind of glow.” Mark asked.
Everyone turned to Jeff and he knotted his brows in confusion.
“No. Nothing happened, I just felt free. Just like the fairy had said.” Jeff answered.
Everyone turned back to Mark.
“My wings glowed when I took her for a flight in the sky,” Mark confessed.
The brothers looked at each other, puzzled. Why? The fairy never told them that their wings would glow and Jeff’s wings never glowed when he found Gwen or even when he took her in his arms.
“What does it mean?” Lian asked.
“I don’t know. I thought Jeff should experience it but now that he said he has not, I am the first to experience it. I don’t know what it means either.” Mark answered.
“Do you think we should go back and find out from the current fairy?” Kevin asked.
“I don’t know but I think we should. She should know what is happening, her predecessor did this after all.” Mark answered.
They concluded to go visit the fairy when everyone was less busy. They left the topic and started talking about the city. Everyone reported that the city was good and Mark dismissed them and they all left.
Mark went back to the room and when he got inside, she was asleep. She was on the bed and she was sleeping, he tucked her in properly and went into the bathroom to freshen up. He freshened up and went to bed, he slept beside her and he could not help but wrap his arms around her figure. He breathed in and her scent filled his nostrils and went to his lungs. It was his everyday scent but it smelt different coming from her and he liked it. He fell asleep, with her in his arms.
*** KIARA’S P. O. V ***
She woke up the next morning with a heavy weight on her. She wanted to get up but the weight was too heavy, she turned around and it was him. He slept beside her and he had his hands wrapped around her.
She felt butterflies fighting in her stomach, she has never slept on the same bed with a man like that and she suddenly felt hot. She pushed his hands away from her but he did not wake up. She turned around to look at him and he looked as handsome as usual.
