Alexia was just close enough to her when the woman called her name without turning around. Alexia stood in her tracks. How did she know her name?
“Come and join me, Alexia. The pond gives a soothing sensation.” The woman spoke again when she noticed that Alexia had stopped walking towards her.
Alexia walked to the woman and she turned around to face Alexia. Alexia’s jaw dropped. The woman was beautiful. Rather too beautiful. The woman smiled at Alexia and Alexia smiled back. The woman turned her head again, looking straight. Alexia didn’t know what to say so she remained quiet.
“You’re beautiful. I’ve only heard about you.” The woman finally broke the silence.
Alexia turned to look at the woman again. What did she mean by she heard about her? What did she hear about her?
“You are beautiful too,” Alexia replied to the woman.
Both women stood there without speaking. A while later, Alexia could feel the soothing sensation creep up her skin and body, it was coming from the pond. The woman didn’t lie. Alexia closed her eyes to enjoy the feeling.
“I can see you both already met.”
It was Amanda. She woke up and went to Alexia’s room but she could not find her there and while she was searching, a fairy told her that Alexia was outside. She went out and she could see Alexia standing by the pond with Harriet. Both women’s eyes were closed and Amanda knew why the pond. It was magical and cooling. It gave off a soothing sensation when one stood by it and it could heal when a sick person goes inside it. It was never dirty no matter what and it never dried up. Amanda walked to where the women stood and she spoke. They all opened their eyes and looked at Amanda and she smiled. Lucy turned around and hugged Amanda.
“You came again,” Harriet said.
“I did,” Amanda replied.
They disengaged from the hug and turned around to stand by the pool again. The soothing sensation crept up to Amanda’s body and she moaned. The women stood in that position for a while and Lucy opened her eyes and began to walk away, she called out to the other two ladies and they followed her. They went into the house and sat at the dining table, it was large and had lots of chairs. Breakfast was fruits again. Alexia ate just a little bit of it, she didn’t want to seem rude.
After breakfast, three of them rose and Lucy led the way out of the house. they walked out to the garden and they were just walking around aimlessly.
“This is Alexia. Alexia, that is Harriet.” Amanda introduced both women.
Harriet turned around to look at Alexia and she smiled.
“Alpha female of the werewolf territories, ruler of the four werewolf packs,” Harriet said.
Alexia’s eyes widened with shock and disbelief. She didn’t tell the woman anything about herself. How did she find out? Amanda laughed.
“You are such a show spoiler, Lucy,” Amanda said while laughing.
“I can’t help it,” Harriet said and she smiled.
Alexia wasn’t laughing. She wondered what else the woman knew about her. She was deep in thought when Harriet spoke up again.
“That is all I know. I promise.” Harriet said.
The statement was directed to Alexia and she smiled too. She didn’t want to waste any time there with the woman so she began to speak.
“I came here for my husband’s brother,” Alexia spoke.
Harriet stood silent with a smile on her face. Amanda stood there too.
“Who is your husband’s brother?” Harriet asked.
But she knew. She knew who Alexia’s husband’s brother was and she wondered what had happened to the man. She only told Alexia that she didn’t know much because the woman looked uncomfortable.
“He is Kai. The ruling lycan king.” Alexia spoke again.
Harriet didn’t know that Marius was dead. He always came to pay her a visit each time he came to his son and when the man and his mother decided to leave, she thought maybe Marius had settled his home and asked for them.
“I know him. He was here with me for a while before he went back to the lycan clan with his mother. What is wrong with him?” Harriet asked.
Alexia and Amanda exchanged knowing glances.
“He is threatened and might be killed soon. I feared for his life and asked Amanda to bring me down here so I can seek your help.” Alexia lied.
She looked at Lucy and the woman didn’t seem troubled. She wondered why.
“He can’t be killed, Alexia,” Harriet said.
“Why?” It was Amanda that spoke.
Amanda still wanted to know why her poison didn’t work on the man.
“He is protected by me and my magic. No one can kill him. Thank you for your concern, Alexia.” Harriet explained.
She turned and smiled at Alexia and Alexia forced a smile. She didn’t like the news she got. She didn’t like the fact that her enemy can not be killed. She was infuriated. She wanted to walk away but she didn’t want to arise suspicion. Amanda walked to Harriet to they engaged in a conversation only they knew what they were saying. Evening came soon and Alexia retired back to her room, she thanked Harriet and told her she will be going back to the lycan clan early the next day.
Alexia was in her bed when her door opened, she turned around and it was Amanda. Amanda came in and sat on the bed and Alexia sat up too.
“I know someone who will break the protection,” Amanda said once she sat on the bed.
Alexia’s hopes rose again and her eyes glittered in curiosity.
“Who?” Alexia asked.
“Claudia. The dark fairies queen.” Amanda explained.
“Dark fairies queen? How do you know she can?” Alexia asked.
“Because she is Harriet’s rival. They are dark and evil and she always looks for a chance to go against Harriet. They are of the same kind but their characters differ a lot.” Amanda explained.
“Okay, so when should we go there?” Alexia asked.
“Tonight,” Amanda replied.
