** THE NEXT DAY **
Alexia started her journey back to the witches’ territory with her omegas again. She needed to find answers. The potion did not work and she had to give it back. She arrived at the witches’ territory after some days and she was welcomed warmly. She stayed for a day and the next, she called Amanda to her room. Amanda came and they sat on the bed. Immediately they sat down, and Alexia started.
“It did not work,” Alexia said.
The queen looked puzzled.
“What did not work?” Amanda asked.
“This,” Alexia said and took the bottle out of her dress pocket and gave it to Amanda.
Amanda looked puzzled. It couldn’t be. The potion was the best of its kind in the whole of the witches’ territory. It was made by Octavia and had killed powerful warlocks and Amanda was certain it was still potent.
She asked Alexia how many drops of the poison Alexia added to his drink. Two. Alexia replied that she added two drops and Amanda was more puzzled. She wondered why the man was still alive. A drop was what it took to kill any creature and two drops were actually too much. Amanda wondered who was this man that was still alive even after drinking two drops of the witch’s most potent poison. Amanda turned back to Alexia.
“Where did you say he came from?” Amanda asked.
“The fairies. That is where his mother said he was before he came back to the clan.” Alexia replied.
“Which of the fairies?” Amanda asked.
Alexia was puzzled. She wondered if there were other fairy territories. She asked Amanda if there was. Yes. Amanda told her there were two fairy territories. The light fairies’ territory and the dark fairies’ territory. Alexia was surprised. She had grown up in the packs all her life and she never knew there were two fairy territories. She knew there were fairies and they fed on fruits but she had never seen one and she did not know there were of types.
“It should be the light fairies. Harriet is found harbouring wandering and distressed creatures.” Amanda explained.
Alexia knotted her brows in confusion.
” Who is Harriet?” Alexia asked.
“She is the light fairy queen,” Amanda explained.
“Does it explain anything?” Alexia asked further.
“No! We have to go there to find things out.” Amanda said.
Alexia didn’t speak again. She was grateful that Amanda was going with her. She knew nothing about the fairies. Amanda stood up and walked to the door and stopped.
“Get some sleep, Alexia. You look tired.” Amanda said.
She opened the door and left. Alexia knew why she was looking so tired, she was extremely exhausted from everything that was happening. The man wasn’t dead and it bothered Alexia greatly. She stood up and went to bed. She remember Lucian and she longed to be in his big arms. She wanted to hold him close and take comfort in him and he in her. She drifted off to sleep with Lucian on her mind. She dreamt about him too.
The next day, Amanda and Alexia started their journey to the fairy’s territory. It did not take too long for them to arrive, it was a journey of just hours. They arrived at the place at dusk. The light fairies’ kingdom was a beautiful place. Alexia wasn’t expecting anything but what she saw was beautiful.
The place was just after the woods and if one does not pay keen attention then, they would not know that there was a place like that. There were different kinds of bright flowers everywhere and the houses were huge. Alexia could see bright flying lights in the sky and they were beautiful, she couldn’t take her eyes off them. Amanda saw her admiring the lights in the sky.
“They are the fairies. They usually gather like that in the sky in the evening and go into the woods for fruits at night, they come back in the morning and stay in the houses till dusk again and the activities repeat. Everyday.” Amanda explained to Alexia.
She could only nod. They walked towards a huge house and stopped. Amanda knocked at the door and a woman opened it. Alexia wondered if that was the fairy queen, she looked extremely beautiful and young. She smiled when she saw Amanda and she bowed to her. She was not the queen. She ushered both women into the house and they went in.
“Where is Harriet?” Amanda asked the woman immediately after she got into the house.
“She went to bond today.” The woman said and smiled.
Amanda turned to Alexia and told her what the bond was. It was what she explained earlier. The queen normally does not go bonding with the rest of the fairies but she had today. They had to wait for her till she got back. The woman showed Amanda and Alexia to their rooms and brought a tray of fruits to each of them. That was what the fairies ate. Alexia did not eat it, she didn’t like fruits and found them annoying. They easily got stuck in one’s teeth and Alexia didn’t want that. She freshened up and slept off.
The next day, Alexia woke up early in the morning. She freshened up and wore a black flowing dress, she tied her hair up in a bun like always. She walked out of the room and the house was busy and noisy. She wondered how she didn’t get the noise all the way in her room. There were men and women, the women putting the fruits away and she didn’t know what it was that the men were doing. She walked among them and no one seemed to notice her, they went about their business.
When she got outside of the house, the morning sun was up and beautiful and she noticed that there was a little pond by the side of the house. A woman stood by the pond, looking into it. She was wearing a wine red coloured gown and her blonde hair was braided and thrown on her shoulder. Alexia approached her, she might be the queen.
