“Here,” Jason said as I opened my mouth and took in a mouth full of rice.
Since that month they told me about everything, I decided to let them be. But a few things were still the same.
We didn’t share bedrooms nor talk about love. But we did spend some time together, we also ate together and talked about our little one’s future.
Mom understood most things about their kind and accepted them completely. To her, they were her sons-in-law even when I told her we had some issues that we needed to settle.
Was I still in love with them?. Yes, more than the first time.
They spoiled me a lot and treated me like a queen.
Jason was usually feeding me, preparing my baths, and laughing with me at times, while Cole was the one who usually massaged my body and helped me in bed.
I kind of felt guilty at first over their treatment, but they assured me that they wanted to do this for me.
I told them how I wanted to spend some time with my mother before I went back with them and they agreed to that at once, and so they chose to stay by my side for as long as I wanted.
We were closer than ever, yet further away from each other.
“Is the food not to your liking?” Jason asked seriously.
I chewed quickly and swallowed.
“It’s delicious as always and exactly what I craved for.” I answered with a smile.
“I’m glad, juice?” He asked softly.
I shook my head then pressed my hand on his.
“Iam full,” I whispered.
He frowned then nodded, stood up with a plate, and went out of the room.
“Are you okay?” Cole asked in my head in concern.
He sat on the couch which was next to my bed looking at me.
“Yes,” I answered then slowly lay down.
“No, you are not.” He answered seriously.
“I am,” I said then faked a smile when Jason walked in.
“She’s not okay, I too have noticed that.” Jason said when he sat next to me and took my hand in his.
“You can tell us.” He said softly.
I didn’t want them to know or panic, but I was in slight pain.
“Since last week, I have been experiencing Dull pains in my lower back, it mostly comes and goes.” I answered honestly.
Cole stood up without a word and went out.
The past few months were tiring. I usually went to the clinic which was run by an elderly she-wolf. She made sure I was comfortable and that my baby was growing healthily. The lady was so kind to me and showed a lot of respect to my mother as well as the twins. She told us that we needed to call her when I began experiencing any signs of pain. But then again when I talked to my mother, she said the slight pain which usually came and went didn’t mean I was in labor, it just indicated how close to labor I was.
The most beautiful moments that the twins and I shared was when our baby moved, it was so beautiful yet touching in a way that it usually left me in tears.
“Get up,” Jason said softly as I frowned.
“Why?” I asked seriously.
“Remember what the Dr told us. When you begin to experience any slight pain in your body we are suppose to take you there. You will stay for observation until she tells us to take you home.” He answered as I slowly sat upright.
“But I feel okay.” I lied.
“You are lying.” He answered then lifted me up in his arms.
“You know that I can walk right?” I asked.
He ignored me and went out of my bedroom.
“Is she okay, has her labor begun?” Mother asked in concern downstairs.
“We don’t know mother, we are just taking her to the clinic as the Dr had instructed.” Jason answered while he walked outside.
“You know that you are being dramatic right no…”
I swallowed my words when I felt a mild popping sensation, followed by a gush of fluid that I couldn’t stop, came out of my Cole.
“Emily,” Jason called with widened eyes.
“I’m okay,” I whispered.
“No, you are not. Cole, I think her water just broke.” He announced loudly.
“I have put everything that will be needed that side in the car!” Teresa answered in what sounded like a panic.
Cole opened the back door for us and waited patiently as Jason carefully put me down and stepped back.
He shut the door then opened the front door and got in the driver’s seat.
Jason went around and opened the back seat as well.
I widened my eyes when mother came out of the house rushing, she went around the car and got in the back sitting next to me.
Jason closed the door and went to stand next to Teresa.
“You guys take care, I’ll keep in touch.” Teresa said when mother closed the door.
“You guys are seriously being dramatic. I am fine.” I said when Cole started the car and drove away.
I sat leaning against the seat, trying so hard to ignore the pains that were beginning to hurt.
“Honey you are sweating.” Mother said softly.
I was about to respond when I felt pain Peirce my lower back. It was becoming intense.
I bite my lower lip and swallowed hard.
“Cole, I think she is in labor.” She said in concern then held my hand tightly.
I closed my eyes shut and focused on my breathing.
I was going to be fine, after all, I wasn’t the first woman to go through such.
“Honey.” Mother called softly.
I opened my eyes and gazed at her when a sharp pain hit again.
I squeezed her hand and whined in pain.
“You will be okay baby girl, we are almost there.” She whispered as I bite my lower lip harder.
This was far from what I thought I would go through. The pain was truly beginning to feel unbearable.
