“Miss.” The driver called.
I stretched myself and looked at him with a smile.
“Yes,” I answered happily.
“You said a turn here right?” He asked.
“Yes,” I answered with a chuckle.
I was back in my country, in my home town and minutes away from where my mother was!. Yes, it took us three days to make it, but it was worth it. The man whose name I learnt was Brian was very kind. We stopped a few times for us to eat and freshen up. He only slept for a few hours while I sat outside in the sun thinking about the mess I was in. Immediately he woke up we continued with our journey.
“Park near the pink hou…..” I trailed off when I saw another car parked there.
“Park in front of that car.” I whispered as I frowned.
The car looked familiar. Sadly all cars looked alike.
“We are here,” Brian announced happily.
I opened the door and came out with a smile.
“Thank you so much for your kindness.” I said softly then pulled out the remaining money from my back pocket and extended my hand to him.
“No Emily, that’s too much.” He answered loudly.
“No, It isn’t. You don’t know how much you have helped me. So please take it.” I said honestly.
He took the money with a smile.
“Thank you. I hope that one day we will be able to meet.” He said as I laughed softly and nodded.
“Take care.” I whispered then turned and walked to the door which was wide open before he could answer.
I stood at the entrance with a frown then decided to just walk in.
I went straight for the living room and entered.
I held in my breath and stood frozen when my eyes landed on Cole who sat with crossed legs reading a newspaper.
When I slowly breathed out, he put the newspaper down and looked at me seriously.
“Welcome my love.” He whispered.
I instantly broke down in laughter while I clapped my hands.
“This is what I get for getting less hours of sleep. Now I’m hallucinating.” I whispered to myself then sighed softly.
“You are not hallucinating.” Jason answered behind me.
I quickly turned and face him with widened eyes.
“We were waiting for you.” He said softly then took my hand in his as I felt nauseous.
I quickly pulled my hand away from him and rushed out of the house.
I knelt near the doorstep and threw up bile.
A hand on my back ignited the beautiful tingles I knew all too well and in just a second I was feeling better.
“Better?” Cole asked beside me.
I gazed at him with a glare.
“Here, Water.” Jason said on my other side when he knelt down.
I looked at him coldly and got the glass of water from him.
“Can you both get the hell out of my face.” I asked while I stood up and took a mouth full of water then spit it out.
“Sorry. We can’t do that.” Cole answered as I laughed softly then deliberately threw the glass down, shattering it.
“You still make me sick Cole, and for him, we are still done.” I spat then turned and walked back into the house.
I went upstairs and entered the first room I saw. It was a beautiful bedroom that was filled with a beautiful scent.
I sat down and glanced at the door when it opened.
“Don’t you know manners?” I asked mockingly.
Cole and Jason stood at the entrance.
“What’s the purpose of knocking when you won’t answer us or let us in?” Cole asked seriously.
The bastard had a point.
“How the hell did you know I was coming here. And where the hell is my mother?” I asked seriously.
“Your mother went out with Teresa a while ago. As for us knowing you would be coming here, it was all instinct.” Jason answered.
“Okay, I can see how you two psychos have reconciled. Now if it’s not too much to ask, can you get the fuck away from me and this house.” I spat seriously.
Jason turned and went away without a word leaving Cole behind.
“You must be tired and hungry.” He said as he approached me.
I stood up angrily and folded my arms.
“Did you not hear me?” I asked loudly.
“I did my love, I did.” He answered then stood in front of me.
“You know, we understand how you feel.” He whispered as I lifted my hand and slapped him across the face.
For a second his eyes flashed a ray of red before returning to their normal color.
“You and him don’t have an idea how I feel. You don’t know what you put me through.” I spat as tears filled my eyes.
“I’m sorry honey, I spoke without thinking. You are right, we have no idea what you are going through. What we know is that we are greatly sorry and we can’t live without you.” He answered as I shifted my gaze to face the wall.
I didn’t want to look at him at all. Because in his eyes I saw sadness. Sadness that made me feel like I was hurting him badly.
“Emily,” Jason called when he came back.
I didn’t want to look at him as well but the beautiful aroma that filled the room made it hard for me to keep facing the wall.
I looked at him for a second, then at the covered plate on the trey which he was carrying.
“You must be hungry.” He said softly as he moved closer and put the food on the bed.
“Eat and take a bath. Rest if you must. But after all that, we three need to sit down and talk.” He said as I rolled my eyes.
“You don’t get to tell me what to do Jason. None of you have that right anymore. Now if you don’t have anything else to say, get the hell out of this room.” I said seriously.
Cole pat Jason’s shoulder slightly then walked out.
“Please consider your words before saying anything to your mother. She is an elderly woman and such news might affect her.” He said as I picked up a folk from the trey and threw it at him.
He stood still without moving as the folk landed on his arm.
“Get out!” I screamed on top of my voice.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered before walking out of the room.
I powerlessly sat on the ground and tried to blink the tears away but it was of no use.
