“So that’s everything that went on in these past months.” Jason said as the woman wiped off her tears and cleared her throat.
“My poor Emily is obviously scared and tired from all this.” She whispered.
“Yes, that’s why we need your help, Teresa. Grace is human, she won’t understand us sharing her daughter, only you could convince her about our kind. You don’t need to tell her about our past nor what Emily went through because if you do, she will never allow us to be with her.” He said.
“I understand alpha, but what about Emily, what if she does tell her everything?” She asked.
“She won’t,” I answered seriously.
“How are you so sure?” She asked.
“I don’t know, I guess it’s instinct. But she won’t tell her no matter what.” I answered.
“Oh my goddess, in just a few months you two experienced a lot of hardship and misunderstanding. And to think that the alpha’s would be so cruel to their own son.” She said softly then stood up.
“Grace is near this place, I can smell her scent.” She whispered then walked out of the room.
“Well, she took it much easier than I thought.” I pointed out.
“That’s because she is one of us. If she was human she could have lost her reason and mind easily.” He answered.
“Really. Jason?” A female voice asked in the passage.
“Yes, but he isn’t alone.” Teresa answered.
“Is he with Emily?” The voice asked happily.
“No, Emily will reach tomorrow. He said they took separate plans for some reason.” Teresa lied as I smiled.
She was clever and knew how to cover up everything.
The door to the room opened and an elderly woman walked in.
She looked so alike with Emily, the only difference was the hair.
Jason and I quickly stood up from our seats.
She widened her eyes and stood still without a word.
“Grace, the one with a small band-aid on the forehead is Jason, and the man next to him is his identical brother Cole.” She introduced.
Jason stepped forward and extended his hand.
“Nice meeting you again ma’am.” He greeted in a respectful tone.
For an alpha to bow his head or lower his pride meant a lot. It showed how much he loved Emily and how much respect he had for her mother.
“Yes, um… what happened to your face?” She asked curiously.
“I was in an accident a few weeks ago, but don’t worry I’m okay. The injuries weren’t that much at all. And the pain wasn’t that intense. The Dr advised me to take a break from everything and go for a vacation. That’s why I am here with my brother. I mean what better vacation than coming back home.” He answered as the woman smiled warmly.
“That’s good, Teresa told me how my baby girl will be coming tomorrow. I’m very anxious to see her, yet happy that you two decided to come and pay us a visit. The past months that my baby wrote to me were very emotional. But in the letter I received two weeks ago she sounded a bit off and that got me worried.” She said calmly.
“Well, I didn’t want to tell you this, but that’s because she is pregnant.” He answered as I raised a brow.
I knew that we were suppose to win her over as well. But he wasn’t supposed to let her know. Not until Emily was okay with it.
“What, you mean Emily is pregnant?” She asked with a wild smile.
“Yes, so she’s been a bit off lately.” He answered.
She laughed softly with tears filled in her eyes then looked at Teresa.
“That’s great news. I hope you guys get married soon. Teresa I’m going to be a grandmother.” She said happily.
Teresa smiled back then looked at me with an apologetic look.
“Sorry…, was it, Cole?. I am Grace, Emily’s mother.” She said then extended her hand to me.
I shook it with a smile.
“Pleasure to meet you.” I answered.
“Grace, do come with me for a second.” Teresa said.
“Sure.” She answered then walked out of the room with her.
“Damn it Jason, you weren’t supposed to tell her about the pregnancy,” I said seriously.
“Sorry brother but look, it did the trick didn’t it. She stopped asking questions and became very happy.” He answered as I sighed loudly then sat down.
“Mind link Teresa and tell her not to tell Grace anything until Emily gets here. For now, we will wait for as long as we can for her to show up.” I instructed.
He moved and sat down with a low sigh.
“Do you think she will be okay with meeting us here?” He asked softly.
Who in their right mind would be. Last time she didn’t want to look at my face nor talk to me. She even ran away. Seeing us here was going to be the worst thing ever.
“No. She will hate us even more. That I know.” I answered seriously.
“Damn it.” He whispered.
Theresa walked in with a tray of drinks and set it on the table.
“Where is Grace?” I asked.
“She went outside to pick up some newspaper.” She answered then picked up a glass of juice and handed it to me.
“Is the Luna really pregnant?” She asked softly.
“Yes,” I answered when I took the glass from her hand.
“And was it really necessary to tell Grace?” She asked when she picked up the remaining glass.
“Ask Jason,” I answered while I took a sip from my glass.
“It wasn’t, but I needed her happy and distracted from asking us a lot of questions.” He answered.
She handed him the glass with a low sigh.
“Very well alpha, but I suggest you prepare yourselves starting now. Our luna won’t be happy to see any of you here. You will have to play the cards right. As for me, I’ll stand by Grace’s side and see to it that she remains calm.” She said then picked up the trey.
“Okay, and do prepare us rooms because we aren’t going anywhere without our mate.” I said
“Sure alpha.” She answered with a slight bow then walked out of the room.
