Jason’s p. o. v
I sat nervously next to Emily while facing her mother who sat opposite us. She had a cold glare on her face that said it all.
“Fuck away from my daughter.”
My heart was beating rapidly and my throat was getting dry. I was trying the best I could to be as calm as possible.
“Mother stop it.” Emily whispered then held my hand in hers. I gave her a quick smile to assure her that I was fine when deep down I wasn’t.
“Stop what?” Her mother asked while pulling a strand of hair from her cheek.
“Giving Jason the murderous look.” Emily answered.
“I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention.” She whispered then cleared her throat and smiled.
She looked very alike to Emily, they had the same beautiful ocean blue eyes and smile, the only difference was the frickles and the hair colour. Emily was a redhead while her mother was a blond.
“Hey, you can call me Grace, I’m Emily’s mother.” She said softly.
“It’s a pleasure meeting you ma’am. I’m Jason Price.” I answered in a respectful tone.
“I know very well who you are young man, what I don’t understand is why you are holding my daughter’s hand.” She said seriously as I swallowed hard and tried to pull my hand from Emily.
Vincent growled at me in warning, he was displeased with how nervous I was. As an alpha, there were things I wasn’t suppose to show. I wasn’t suppose to show how nervous I was or even intimidated, it was suppose to be the other way around.
But come on!, I was literally looking at my future mother in law. I couldn’t keep my nervousness in check.
“Mother Jason is my boyfriend.” She answered loudly surprising me.
Grace widened her eyes in shock, I kept in a purr that was about to slip past my lips. Vincent was over the moon in joy just as I was.
“Excuse me alpha but, is what Emily said true?” Ms. Benedict asked when she walked into the room.
“Did you just call him Alpha?” Emily asked with emphasis.
“Sorry, it’s just a nickname I call Jason, to me his more like a son.” She answered softly.
Emily looked at me without blinking, I knew what she wanted to hear from me.
“Yes, she’s like me.” I answered simply.
“Wait, did you tell Emily about our kind?” Ms. Benedict asked loudly. Shock was written all over her face.
“Yes, she’s my mate and your Luna.” I answered proudly.
“Seriously?. That’s the best news I have heard of the whole day. Luna, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you, not as Ms. Benedict but as…..”
“Excuse me, but what the hell is going on here?” Grace asked while standing up.
Crap, how could we have forgotten her so easily. A second ago I was aware of her presence a hundred percent, but when Ms. Benedict walked in, I completely forgot about her.
“Look mother, I will tell you everything soon. All I want you to know is that I’m in love.” Emily said then gave my hand a squeeze.
“I’m also in love with her, I feel bad to come here like this empty-handed to meet you. But I came here for something else as well. In a few days, I will be leaving this country and going back to my own. I would like to have your permission to take Emily with me.” I said as Grace gasped loudly.
“What is this!. Teresa what the hell is this!” Grace yelled loudly.
“Mother calm down.” Emily said quickly.
“Is he insane!. First of all, he comes here from nowhere just to tell me that he is dating my daughter and now he wants to take her away from me!” She yelled as I took in deep breaths.
She’s human, she’s just human I silently reminded vincent a few times to keep him calm.
“Grace calm down.” Ms. Benedict said as she moved closer to her.
“Don’t tell me to calm down Teresa, didn’t you hear him?” She asked on top of her voice.
“I was the one that told you I was in love with first, not him. If you want to find fault in someone, then find it in me mother because I was the one that begged him to take me along. I love him so much that I don’t want to be apart from him. If you won’t let me go with him in peace, then I will run away and you will never see me again!” Emily said angrily.
Grace looked at her for a minute then sat down.
“What did he do to you, honey?. Never in your life have you ever raised your voice at me. And what’s worse is that you are telling me that you will run away with a man you haven’t known for long. Is he bribing you with something?” She asked.
“That’s enough Grace.” Teresa said seriously.
“I won’t let you say bad words about my Alp… Jason, he is a good man and I trust him. You treating him like a bad man makes me think lowly of you. Emily is not a child anymore, she can make her own decisions, moreover, where she will be going to I know that place very well because it’s my hometown. If you want me to be taking you there every week that’s fine, but just let her be happy. She has her own life and you have yours. You have lived your dream of love and now it’s her time to do just that as well.” She said as Grace’s expression softened.
“It’s just that I was worried, it’s been weeks since I saw my little girl and now she shows up with a boyfriend, not that I’m against them. I’m actually happy that she is in love and wants to be with the man that she loves, I just find it hard to process.” Grace said softly then sighed deeply.
“Jason, please promise me that you will take good care of my only daughter when you go that side with her.” She said as Emily stood up.
“Mother are you allowing me to go with him!” She asked in a loud scream.
“Well yes, it seems I can’t stop you when your mind is set.” She answered.
Emily quickly went to her and hugged her happily.
“I promise you, ma’am, I’ll take good care of her, and whenever you feel like visiting, please do. I will gladly welcome you with my arms wide open.” I answered honestly.
“That’s what I wanted to hear.” She whispered.
“Thank you, Teresa.” I mind linked Ms. Benedict.
“It’s been long since you called me by my name alpha, it actually feels good to have your old self back.” She mind linked back.
I smiled and nodded while she slightly tilted her head in a bow.
