I sat on Jason’s bed with slightly trembling hands, for some reason I was somehow calmer than I should have been after finding out that he was a Werewolf.
My mind was slowly accepting everything. Werewolves, dragons and Vampires were real. If he could freaking shift into a wolf right in front of my eyes, then everything I thought of as myths and tales was real.
“Here.” He whispered while handing me a glass of cold water.
I nodded and took it from his hand.
“Take a sip.” He whispered.
I slowly did and forced myself to swallow.
“I know that it’s very hard to believe and take in, but what you saw was real.” He whispered then sat next to me.
I flinched and dropped the glass on the bed when he touched my back gently and rubbed his hand there a few times. My body instantly relaxed on its own and I found myself leaning in closer to feel more of his warmth. The beautiful tingles that were spreading throughout my body were so pleasurable.
“Do you feel them too?” I asked softly.
He grabbed me by the waist gently and pulled me on his lap. My back was towards him and I was grateful for that, I was dying to look into his eyes and kiss him.
“Of course.” He answered then rested his head on my shoulder, his arms were wrapped around my waist.
“They make me calmer and so relaxed.” I said honestly.
“I feel the same way too. It’s the mate’s pull that works wonders whenever one is experiencing intense emotions that they can’t normally handle.” He answered.
“Jason, you told me about your kind because Ken wants you to go back with him right?” I asked softly.
He sat upright and kept quiet.
“You talked about how you needed me by your side.” I continued.
“Yes.” He answered.
“Well, I also want to be by your side. But I can’t just leave my mother behind, she’s all I have.” I said sadly.
“Don’t worry, I will take good care of her and make sure she has someone to look after her properly.” He answered.
I turned and faced him feeling confused.
“I will explain later, right now I just want to hold you in my arms.” He said as I felt my cheeks heat up.
I giggled then willingly jumped in his arms. He didn’t even have to say it twice because I wanted the same thing.
“It’s kind of funny that Rhoyda isn’t yelling at us.” I whispered.
“That’s because she has her mate with her.” He answered.
“Her mate?” I asked.
He embraced me and rested his head on mine lightly.
“It turns out that Ken and Rhoyda are meant to be together.” He whispered.
A knock on the door made me pout, I didn’t want to leave his arms.
“I don’t want to move from your arms.” I said sadly.
“Then don’t.” He answered in what sounded like a soft purr.
“Jason!” Rhoyda called loudly.
“Come in Rhoyda.” He answered.
She opened the door and walked in, when she looked at me she smiled widely.
“You guys will be the cutest couple in our pack.” She said as I blushed and buried my face in his chest.
“Were you listening into our conversation?” He asked.
“No, you guys were just loud.” She answered.
“Hey Emily, you have agreed to come with us right?” She asked.
I pulled back and looked at Jason who was quietly waiting for my response.
“Well, yes.” I answered hesitantly.
“Awesome, I was very worried that you would refuse. An alpha who has a mate is much more stronger than one without. Plus I need to have a girlfriend that side, I don’t want to befriend some she-wolf who will only be by my side for recognition. I want someone who will love and accept me for me.” She said cheerfully.
“It seems you ladies need to talk.” Jason said then stood up after moving me from his laps.
I watched him walk out of the room sadly.
“Oh come on, he isn’t going away forever.” She said playfully.
I signed then forced a smile across my face. I knew that he was only leaving us to talk for a few minutes, but I still wanted to be in his arms.
“So ken is your mate?” I asked curiously.
“Yes.” She answered then moved closer and sat down on the bed.
“I seriously don’t know what to do. He literally raised us and for years I looked up to him as a daughter would. But now everything is different because we are mates.” She whispered.
I kept quiet trying to understand how everything worked.
“You see, we don’t get to chose who to be mated to, it’s the moon Goddess that does. And whenever she does, know that she is always right. All we have to do is accept our given mate and let everything flow in its own way.” She said as if she was reading my mind.
“And no we can’t reject our mates. Well to be honest, we can but it’s very risky. One might end up going insane or losing their wolf, you see a rejection hurts so much, both physically and emotionally. It also affects the mental state.” She said.
I bite my lower lip then stood up.
“So if I had rejected your brother, he too could have gone insane?” I asked.
“Yes, and much worse, he could have died.” She answered as I felt fear wash all over me.
“Hey, you didn’t reject him so cheer up.” She said then stood up too and walked to the door.
“I’m just happy that you are a part of our family Emily, and soon you will be part of the pack.” She whispered then walked out of the room.
When the door opened and Jason walked in. I quickly ran into his arms.
“Hey, what’s wrong. Are you okay?” He asked in concern.
“I just want you to know that I accept you as my mate with my whole heart.” I said loudly.
“Thank you.” He answered softly then hugged me closely.
I hated the thought of hurting him in anyway. He was the only man for me, I loved him with my whole heart, be it human or not.
