Christopher’s ( Chris ) p. o. v
“You call this defending yourself?” I asked one of our warriors who dogged my Punch and shielded his face with his arms, forming a block.
“Annoying,” I whispered to myself while I moved in a split second and kicked his chest sending him flying to the ground.
He fell down with a loud whimper and coughed blood.
The other warriors who stood in a circle watching slowly stepped back.
“Who’s next?” I asked in a laboured breath.
The men looked at one another then back at me.
“I seriously have no time for this!. Who’s next?” I asked loudly as I waited for one warrior to step forward and volunteer.
When a second turned into a minute I frowned.
“Are you seriously afraid to volunteer?” I asked angrily.
They slowly all looked at the warrior who was still on the ground with a bloody mouth then back at me.
“I didn’t kill him, moreover he has an ability to heal. How do you expect to grow stronger if you are avoiding the training? I know that our wolves are powerful and magnificent in battle, but that doesn’t mean you should only rely on them. We need to train harder in our human form and become the best in arm-to-arm kombat. Just now I was totally holding back, that’s why none of his bones are broken. If it were our alphas none of you would have been standing on your two feet. So fucking man up and take a beating, it will only make you stronger.” I said loudly.
“Beta, do go easy on me.” One tall man said as he stepped forward.
“Of course,” I answered calmly when deep down I knew I was going to go a little bit hard on him.
“Beta, I have something I want you to take care of.” Landon’s voice came through our mind link.
“Yes, Alpha.” I answered in a respectful tone then took a step back.
“Continue with the training until I come back. No one’s allowed to slack off or mess around, Kai the head warrior will be your opponent for now.” I said then turned and walked to the pack house.
I was about to enter when I bumped into a lady. She stumbled and fell with a low groan.
I quickly knelt beside her with a smile and extended my hand to her.
“Sorry pretty lady, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” I said while I helped her up.
Her face looked so familiar, sadly I couldn’t remember where I had seen it before.
“I’m really sorry beta Chris, I was the one who wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. I just wanted to check up on my friend Luna Mia but then I overheard the alphas voices and I decided to leave.” She answered then sighed softly.
“Last time I was with her she said pretty bad words and the alpha overhead. He was so furious that he asked me to leave, since then I’m so scared to meet any of our alphas.” She said in a whisper.
The lady sure had guts, she knew the rules of our pack so damn well and yet here she was talking to me like we were on the same rank. Her story was pretty useless and I cared less about it.
“I see, do you perhaps want me to deliver a message to her?” I asked with a fake smile.
“Yes, please tell her that Meg would love to have a word with her.” She answered as I frowned.
Hearing that name brought back a few memories I completely forgot about.
There once was this pretty she-wolf who usually kept to herself almost all the time, she always had her eyes lowered to the ground and rarely spoke. I had my eyes on her because she was my type. Her name too was Meg and she was an Omega. The night that her heat came she was suppose to be given to one of the warriors but I stepped in and claimed her. Our night together was pretty amazing, despite not saying anything I saw it on her face how she enjoyed it. But after that night I no longer met or saw the girl ever again.
“I’ll do that.” I answered then took a step forward when she held my hand shocking me.
No one in the pack had ever touched me unless given permission to. She was beginning to annoy me and the mask I have been putting on in front of everyone was slowly fading.
I wasn’t what most people imagined me to be, I was actually worse than our alphas. I hated everything and everyone that was below my rank. I never wanted to find or come across my mate because to me she would just be a burden and a weakness. I pretended to tolerate everyone’s bullshit when deep down I was thinking of ways to kill them all. My loyalty to our alphas was unquestionable and true because what I saw in them was priceless, and that was death. Power and superiority.
In order to be their beta and right hand, I had to change a few things about myself and that included the mask I had to usually put on.
“I’m so sorry beta, but you don’t remember me do you?” She asked in a soft voice.
Who the hell did she think she was?. Was I suppose to remember her?. Did she even know how many women I had taken to bed?. They were a lot. And some I just smiled at them in order to have them blow me up. To me, she was like any other useless omega and she-wolf I had came across.
“I’m sorry, but…. have I ever taken care of you when you were experiencing your first heat?” I asked softly.
“Yes.” She answered.
That came as no surprise to me at all.
Ever since I could remember I easily got attracted to women who were very submissive and lacked self-esteem. It made me feel superior whenever they relied only on me and submitted to everything I wanted. I hated those that were too talkative, social and prideful.
“I’m sorry but I don’t seem to remember you.” I answered then walked away.
I had no idea why I took such a woman to bed. The fact that she was talking freely to me and looking me in the eyes was like an insult.
I hated her so much. She was the worst type of woman to ever fuck again.
