Mia’s p. o. v
“Useless.” I heard Ayira growl loudly.
“Who,” I whispered huskily.
Where I was I couldn’t see anything, it was dark and a bit cold. I could hear the low growls from Ayira that turned a bit loud here and there for just a second.
“I am the one doing everything to revive us while they think they are the ones doing everything to revive you.” She said.
“Revive?” I asked softly.
“I need a minute to complete the healing process.” She whispered then went quiet.
I kept quiet thinking back on exactly what had happened.
The last thing I could remember was rushing in my room to pick up a charm that was hidden under my pillow and then……..”
Brandon and Landon came in and asked me to drop it. I rushed to the kitchen room and…..”
“Ayira our mates, Landon, Brandon, what did you do to them!” I exclaimed when everything played in my mind.
“They wanted to relieve you from pain Mia and that’s what I did. I took half of your pain and transferred it to them. We could have handled the charm by ourselves, but then it would have put us in a coma for two days. As it is I’m not at my best, my powers aren’t at their fullest.” She answered.
“Still, they were in so much pain.” I stated out the obvious.
“As you were.” She whispered.
I could hear her say something but she sounded very far and her voice was fading.
A slight pain on my wrist made me open my eyes and blink a few times, my vision was a little blurry and I couldn’t see anyone clearly.
“She’s awake, thank the goddess.” A woman’s voice whispered.
I was about to try and sit upright when a warm large hand pushed me back on the bed.
From the beautiful tingles I felt, I knew it was one of my mates.
“Rest.” He whispered softly.
I lifted my hand and rubbed my eyes then dropped it as my vision slowly became clear.
Landon was on my left side, next to me while a few women were on my right. From their uniform, I could tell they were nurses and one a doctor.
I looked at Landon with a smile then frowned when I saw how pale he looked, he was sweating and seemed tired.
“Lando.. n.” I called in a cracked voice.
“Yes, Mia.” He answered in a whisper.
“Are you okay?” I asked in concern.
He smiled then brushed his hand through my hair gently.
“Of course. Why do you say that?” He asked back.
I kept quiet for a second not knowing if I should tell him what I thought or not.
“Tell him, he needs to rest so Zane might heal him.” Ayira answered.
“Zane?” I asked out loud.
“Are you asking about my wolf?” He asked seriously.
So that was his name, Zane. I had no idea.
Asking him to rest was a good idea but I had a feeling that he would turn it down and ask me to do the same.
“Can you please lay down next to me?” I asked softly.
He looked at the nurses for a second then back at me and nodded.
I shifted and moved to the side for him to lay down.
He slowly got on and lay beside me facing me.
No matter how I looked at him, he wasn’t well.
The nurses and doctor walked out of the room without a word and closed the door behind.
The bed was a little bit small and cramped but it made me happy that I was sharing it with my mate.
I lifted my hand and pressed it on his cheek gently. He flinched then forced a smile across his face.
“He is in a lot of pain isn’t it?” I asked Ayira seriously.
“He will heal and the pain will quickly subside. Having us by his side will also affect him greatly and speed up the healing process.” She answered.
“I hate seeing him like this. He is forcing himself to act strong in front of me. Is there something I can do to make him feel better?” I asked silently.
“You being by his side is helping him. But if you think it isn’t enough, you can comfort him with your body.” She answered.
“I didn’t mean it like that!” I yelled at her then sighed softly.
She really was a bit cold towards me, was it because I had called her a disrespectful name when she took over?. Was she seriously still upset with me?. Fine, I went a bit overboard, even I knew it. But then it was all her fault for acting like that.
“I’m sorry for calling you that name when you took over. I was just upset with you for not showing our mates our true coat and form. And the fact that you were more into them than Zane and Blake made me feel a little upset.” I whispered.
“The alphas Blake and Zane are my mates, I submit fully to them. But so are their humans. One can’t survive without the other can they?. You and I are one and part of each other, our alphas are bound to love the both of us no matter what because you and I aren’t much different.” She answered seriously.
I sighed feeling defeated, she was right. As much as their wolves were her mates they were mine as well, rejecting them would be the same thing as rejecting their human side.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered.
“Mia are you still in pain or does it hurt anywhere?” Landon asked softly.
I dropped my hand from his cheek then shook my head.
“I was just wondering where Brandon is.” I answered.
“Oh him, he’s resting in the next ward. He will be here any minute from now.” He answered.
I moved my hand and brushed it through his hair surprising him.
“You too please get some rest. Now that I’m awake, I feel a lot better.” I whispered.
“Okay, just don’t go anywhere.” He answered softly then closed his eyes while I continued brushing his hair back.
I didn’t know if it would help but I still wanted to try.
I began humming one of my favorite melodies as I trailed my other free hand on his arm, rubbing there a few times hoping that the tingles would calm him down and relax him enough to sleep.
I stayed by his side a few minutes and noticed that his breathing was slowly slowing down.
A smile formed across my face, he really was giving in to resting. That came as a relief.
Right after making sure he was in deep sleep, I was going to check up on Brandon.
