Landon’s p. o. v
“You stay in any of our rooms and don’t move.” I warned Mia seriously.
“But..”
“No but, you heard her didn’t you?. In your bedroom, there is a hidden charm. It might be harmful to both of you, so we need to get rid of it as soon as possible.” Brandon answered cutting her off.
“What if it kills you?. What if it is very harmful to the both of you!” She exclaimed on top of her voice.
I smiled then moved closer and leaned in kissing her cheek.
“You worrying about us is very heart fluttering, but we need to do this so stay back and wait for us to clear your room.” I said softly.
“No!” She answered strongly and rushed out of the kitchen surprising us.
“Mia!” I called loudly as I rushed out to following her to her bedroom leaving the female alphas.
“Don’t do anything to her.” Brandon mind linked me.
“I can’t do anything bad to her. I just want to stop her.” I spat then went to her bedroom and attempted to open the door which was locked.
“How the fuck did she find a key to her bedroom!” I exclaimed loudly through our mind link.
“It has always been there brother.” Brandon answered behind me.
“Fine, it doesn’t matter.” I answered then lifted my foot and kicked the door open then rushed in.
Mia was facing the other side with her back towards us.
“Mia,” I called softly.
She slowly turned and faced me. I widened my eyes in fear.
In her hands was a violet flower that looked beautiful yet so deadly!. Mia’s eyes were back to that of Ayira and her facial expression looked pained. A few dark veins were starting to show on her arms and hands.
“Drop it.” Brandon ordered seriously.
“We can’t, this flower is enchanted with a certain charm potion that can be deadly to the both of you. We are the only ones capable of handling it.” She whispered then walked past me and went out of the room.
I was about to stop her when Brandon pressed his hand on my shoulder and shook his head stopping me.
“Why!. Why should we let her go through that alone!. It seems very painful!” I yelled furiously then stormed out of the room before he could answer me.
I followed her scent that led me to the kitchen.
The alpha females were no longer there but their blood was still on the floor.
Mia stood next to an open tap with her hands extended as the water poured on the flower.
“Mia,” I called softly as Brandon walked in.
“It will be over soon.” She answered then slowly looked my way and forced a smile on her face.
I could see it in her eyes, she was really in pain.
“Is there any way I can help, please?” I pleaded as her smile vanished.
“Press your hand on my shoulder.” She whispered.
I quickly moved without hesitation and pressed my hand on her shoulder. Immediately a wave of pain hit me hard.
I could feel it triggering me and Zane my wolf. He was trying to pull through and take over.
The pain was intense and it was taking everything in me to hold my ground.
“We can fight it off.” Brandon whispered huskily as he pressed his hand on Mia’s shoulder as well. instantly his eyes glowed red and his facial expression was strained. He too was in pain like I was and Blake was trying his best to keep them standing.
My breathing turned into pants and sweat formed on my forehead.
The Violet color on the flower slowly began turning into white.
I glanced at Mia and saw that she too was sweating, her breath was loud and labored.
“Just a little more.” She whispered.
I clenched my free hand and closed my eyes for a second.
If not for the very hard training Brandon and I had gone through. We would have passed out. I couldn’t even begin to think of what Mia was going through, I was sure Ayira was also bearing her pain as well.
The two female alphas were going to be dead, I was going to kill them soon after making sure Mia was alright.
When the pain slowly began to subside, I opened my eyes and looked at the flower that was now completely white.
She placed it in the sink then glanced at Brandon.
“It’s don…”
Her words were cut short when she fell on Brandon who quickly held her.
“Mia!” He called loudly as fear hit me.
He quickly lifted her in bridal style and rushed out of the room.
I was right behind him as I forced myself to walk, I had no strength left in me.
We ignored the stares and looks of shock as we rushed to the pack clinic.
Immediately we walked in, a few nurses rushed to us.
“Alphas quickly in this room.” One nurse said as she pointed at the ward ahead.
We followed her without question and walked into the ward.
“Please lay her down.” She said as he did.
The door opened and an elderly woman wearing a lab coat walked in.
She gave us a slight bow and went to Mia’s side.
My vision was slightly becoming blurry and I felt nauseous.
I moved to the door and leaned against the frame.
“Brother, the charm has affected me horribly. I can’t seem to keep my stance stable.” Brandon mind linked me.
I slowly stood upright and moved out of the ward.
“We need rest.” Zane said in a short breath.
“No, we can’t leave her like that.” I whispered then walked to a bench that was opposite the ward and sat down.
I covered my face with my hands then took in a deep breath.
I was at fault. If I hadn’t agreed on taking the female alphas in, this wouldn’t have happened. I was so worried but mostly scared of what would happen to Mia.
I wanted to stand by her side but knew that I would pass out as well.
“Alpha!” A female voice screamed loudly.
I got to my feet and rushed into the ward.
Brandon was on his knees with his arms wrapped around his stomach. Two nurses were next to him touching his face and checking his eyes.
I quickly moved closer and knelt beside him with a loud growl as they stepped back in fear.
“Brother,” I called softly.
When he faced up, my breath stopped for a second.
A trail of blood was rolling from his mouth.
“Bother.” I breathed out in fear.
“She’s in w… orse pain.” He whispered in a cracked voice.
“I got you, please try to stand.” I said softly then helped him stand up with the little strength I had.
I walked with him slowly out of the ward and into the next one.
“Easy,” I whispered as I helped him on the bed.
“I’ll go stand by her side, you rest.” I said softly.
He looked at me sadly then nodded.
I walked out of the ward and found a few doctors standing a bit further away, with their gaze fixed to the ground.
“He dies, you die.” I spat with dominance then walked to Mia’s ward.
A sharp pain was piercing my chest and it was getting hard to breath. But I wasn’t going to leave her alone. She needed me beside her.
I stood at the entrance and cleared my throat getting the doctor and nurses attention.
“No one leaves until she wakes up. If she doesn’t, I will kill every one of you and slaughter your family members as well. That I promise you.” I said honestly then pressed my hand on my mouth as I coughed ignoring the pain.
The elderly woman who I was sure was the doctor widened her eyes.
“Pardon me Alpha, but you are bleeding.” She whispered.
I looked at my hand and saw that it was covered in blood.
I couldn’t even smell the scent of blood at all.
“Do you want to die?. Your job is to heal her, not talk to me.” I growled in warning.
I wasn’t going to let them slack off. They were supposed to work hard because their lives depended on her recovery.
