Chapter 65

He had already forgotten that she was awake when he left the room. She watched him quietly as he dropped the tray that contained the bowl of soup on the bedside drawer carefully.
He turned to her and saw that she was still staring at him without saying a word. To admit the truth, he indeed felt a bit uncomfortable then.
But he still moved to sit by her side on the bed when she suddenly asked, “When did you arrive?”
He was startled by her question. What??? This is like the second time she is asking him this. “Why are you asking me this again?,” He queried with a puzzled expression written all over his face.
She sat up just then and he advanced forward to help her but seems like she didn’t need his help cause she was able to sit upright herself.
That was when he noticed her eyes… The silver specks… No… It was completely covered with silver flecks that he could barely see the shade of brown. He felt a little bit terrified.
What’s wrong with her? Is she alright? He had tons of questions he wanted to ask her. Why did her eyes suddenly change to this unusual colour?
“When?,” She looked at him curiously, her eyes displaying innocence like she really had no idea when. He was totally confused. What the heck is going on?
“You… Do you remember what you did to me on the bed just a few minutes ago?” He asked, coughing slightly.
Emily gasped and clutched the duvet around herself. “You! Did you get into bed with me? What were you doing in my bed!? What are you even doing here?” Her questions confirmed to him that something is indeed wrong.
“Hey… I didn’t do anything okay? You were the one that pulled me in,” He refuted her words. Emily gasped dramatically again.
“You jerk! What are you trying to tell me? I guess spending a weekend at that place has just made you more arrogant than before,” Emily pointed at him.
Before Ryan even got the chance to give her a befitting reply, the door suddenly opened and Lena barged in. She rushed to the bed and hugged Emily.
“Sis… You are finally awake. Where were you screaming?” Ryan watched her quietly. Noting her lack of reaction to Emily’s eyes, he figured out that it must be nothing unusual for her eyes to change colours this way.
But he was rudely shocked when she turned to him with an ab angry face, about to whine to her sister and he noticed that her eyes were completely brown again. That familiar chocolate brown colour. How… How is that possible?
He’d just seen it turn all silver so how did she manage to change it back so fast? He looked into her eyes and noticed that there were still tiny specks of silver.
“It’s because of this jerk. He’s been making my life a little miserable,” Emily complained.
Lena turned to glare at Ryan, “I knew it. I knew that he could never be your boyfriend. What happened to Steve?”
Ryan coughed loudly, bringing their conversation to a halt. Steve again?? Why the heck is Lena asking about that Steve?
Emily gulped when Ryan coughed. She suddenly remembered him instructing her not to go to the seafood restaurant with Steve. He doesn’t know about it yet, right?
She doesn’t know why she shuddered at the thought that what if he somehow managed to find out that she defied his orders? Not like he is her boyfriend anyway.
“So you’ve been going out with other men while being away from your boyfriend for just a weekend?” He asked, wanting to see if she would fall into his trap and admit that she went on that date with Steve.
“No… No,” Lena watched in amazement as Emily hurriedly denied it. Okay… What’s going on?
Her eyes fell upon the bowl of soup on the bedside drawer and she gave Ryan a glare again. “You… You didn’t give her the soup mom painstakingly made!” Lena had a not-so-pleased look on her face.
Ryan had already forgotten about the soup but now that Lena mentioned it, he reached out and carried the bowl from the tray, ignoring the hurtful sensation from it.
The soup is still hot enough to burn his hand but he didn’t even bat an eye cause the pain left as soon as it came.
“No… Boss, you don’t have to. I can feed myself,” Emily tried to refuse when Ryan raised a spoonful of soup to feed her. Lena gave the two of them a meaningful glance.
Hmm… Boss? Something is definitely amiss and she would find out what it is.
Ryan glared at Emily but she still tried to stop him using another tactic, “Boyfriend…” A frightening glare from Ryan was enough to make her quiet.
She sat there obediently accepting the spoon from him.

Scott wasn’t even in the mood to watch the strippers and check if Deli is among them. He just walked straight to the room he’d paid for, exclusively for him.
However, he was a little bit surprised to meet Deli in the room. The latter was dressed in a nightie and she was sleeping in an unreserved way on the bed.
Scott sucked in a deep breath as he stood there doing nothing but watching her quietly. He didn’t realize how much he’d missed her.
As if on cue, Deli stirred and woke up. She opened her eyes slowly, feeling a strong presence in the room. She smiled when her eyes landed on Scott.
“You are back!” She exclaimed, rushing out of bed to embrace him as fast as she could. He inhaled her scent as he engulfed her in a warm hug.
“You didn’t even call me for a single day… Did you know how lonely I was?,” She immediately started complaining. Her aggrieved tone made him feel guilty.
He doesn’t even know why he is guilty. “That’s why I came here.”
