Chapter 55

Book:TWO-SIDED ALPHA Published:2024-6-2

Ryan had this beautiful, genuine smile others have never seen on his face when he walked back into the house. He sat down on a sofa, totally oblivious to others’ reactions.
“Scott… I know you know something. You have to tell us what it is,” Gracie whispered to Scott in a threatening tone. The latter almost choked on the apple he was munching.
“See… Brother’s over there. Go and ask him yourself,” Scott retorted and turned back to his apple. But someone snatched the apple out of his hand right then.
He looked up with a frown that widened after seeing Gracie holding up the apple. “You won’t get any more food in this house if you don’t spill what you know,” Gracie glared at him.
Scott chuckled and sat back. “Easy. I’ll just order food online,” He answered. “Then I’ll shut off the wifi system,” Gracie refused to back down.
Scott frowned. “Don’t threaten me okay? My phone can survive without your wifi… If it isn’t because of the different regions…”
“Will you spill it or not?” Mia and Vanessa commended Gracie as they noticed the sudden change in Scott’s voice. She is the only one that can control him.
Scott groaned and slowly nodded, “Fine.” The three ladies immediately moved closer to him with curiosity written all over their faces.
Meanwhile, Ryan was also being bombarded by the men. “Ryan… When did you start hiding secrets from us?” Jeff asked, trying to hide the curiosity in his eyes.
But he couldn’t deny the fact that he is intrigued about the identity of the lady that managed to capture Kral’s heart. Is she a wolf or human? Wait… Is it even possible for Kral to take a human as his mate?
“None of your business,” Ryan remained tight-lipped. “Does Chris knows about this too,” Derrick asked Ryan, watching the latter closely.
Speaking of Chris, Ryan finally realized that his cousin isn’t present. “I thought this get-together is supposed to include everybody?” Ryan’s words were filled with pure confusion.
They nodded as a response. “Then why is Chris absent?” “He already sent a message that he had work to do and he missed his flight so he’ll be here later tonight,” Sam answered him, checking his wristwatch.
“Oh! So he’ll join us at the club then? What time are we going to leave?” Ryan asked another question. This time he got no responses, only squinted eyes.
“I understand what you are trying to do Ryan. It won’t work this time. Start filling us in on the required information about sister-in-law,” Derrick answered him.
Ryan frowned. He thought they’d be distracted by the text he sent and would gather around him to ask about that as soon as he arrives in Singapore but no… They are all wanting to know about Emily.
He swiftly stood up and walked to the hallway. On his way out, he turned back to the stunned men that were still watching him retract.
“Whenever it’s time to go to the club, inform me ’cause I feel jetlagged and I’m going to take a nap,” Saying this, he walked out.

Emily held up her phone and switched it on several times. Each time, her fingers would fail to click on Steve’s name in the contact list. She couldn’t describe how she felt but she knew she is indeed feeling guilty.
She sighed and eventually managed to click on Steve’s number. She clicked the message icon and immediately sent a quick message, “I have something to tell you tomorrow.”
She winced when she mistakenly clicked sent and the phone displayed sent successfully. That isn’t what she wanted to type. Her phone vibrated and she saw Steve’s reply, “Okay.”
She sighed. She’d just let it be for now. She would have to tell him the truth tomorrow hopefully after eating a plate of seafood.

Ryan grumbled and tossed on the bed. Why won’t the annoying sound go away? He turned to one side and tried to block off the noise but the noise only increased till he realized that it was the door.
Someone is knocking on the door. He groaned and forced his eyes open. He barely ever gets any chance to sleep in New York and now that he’s finally getting his well-deserved sleep, someone’s disturbing it.
He swung the door open with eyes half closed. His eyes widened a little when Pearl’s beautiful face appeared in front of him.
But remembering his perfect sleep that had just been ruined, the pissed expression was back there. But Pearl noticed how his eyes widened earlier and she completely misunderstood his expression.
A shy smile appeared on her face as she stared down at the extremely short skirt she chose to wear for the club. She overheard Ryan complimenting that bitch earlier so he must like short clothes right?
“What?” Ryan didn’t notice how rude he sounded cause all that was on his mind at that moment is to get rid of Pearl and go back to sleep.
“Uhmm… It’s time to go to the club,” Pearl informed him softly, finally noticing how pissed he looked.
“I changed my mind. I’m no longer going,” Ryan answered hurriedly and shut the door without giving her a chance to even react.
“Wait… Wait,” Pearl called out as he walked away from the door. He was already planning to ignore her but she played her ultimate card, “I overheard them saying we are going for a run before we head to the club!”
Ryan froze as Ray leapt in his head. The wolf instantly woke up when he heard the word ‘run’. Ryan almost groaned in frustration. There is no way he can resist now.
“I’ll be there,” He told her grudgingly and Pearl nodded even though he couldn’t see her. She turned away from the door.
Ryan came out a few minutes later dressed in shorts and a simple t-shirt. Since they are going to shift, why shred good clothes instead?
That’s why he chose this outfit. It’d be easier to shift in it. He didn’t look surprised when he saw the small clothes others were wearing.
