“Ryan… It’s so embarrassing that you still remember that,” Pearl answered softly with the cute pout still on her lips. Ryan chuckled and pinched her cheeks like he did when she was young.
“It’s nice to know that you’ve shredded that rebellious part of yours and will no longer do stupid things,” He commented with genuine happiness in his eyes. Pearl felt drawn to the beauty of his eyes like always.
“Brother! Brother!,” Scott finally reached there. He stopped and panted hard for breath. Ryan glared at him and turned away.
Scott stretched the phone to Ryan and informed him, “Sister-in-law… Has… Been… Trying… To… Call… You.” He stuttered. Pearl’s facial expression changed when she heard this.
Ryan immediately turned back to Scott and snatched his phone away from his hands not after giving him a warning glance.
Without a word, he walked away, leaving Scott and Pearl behind. Pearl trailed his movement, her eyes not wavering for a bit. “Pearl… Gracie has been looking for you. Will you tag along? I’m going back inside,” Scott told her.
“No… You can go ahead. I’ll catch up with you. I want to check something,” She hurriedly answered and walked away.
Scott’s eyebrows raised as he watched her walk in the same direction as Ryan. “Hmm,” He mumbled lowly. “Does Pearl like Ryan? Well… That’s more fun for me.”
He shrugged and turned away.

Ryan dipped his right hand into his pocket and held up his phone as he walked down the garden slowly. The call got disconnected and he frowned. Why didn’t she answer it?
Why doesn’t she ever answer his calls? But in the next minute, he was stunned when his phone vibrated with an incoming video call. Oh! So she rejected his call at first because she wants to video call him instead.
He wasted no time in answering the call. Her wet face was the first thing he noticed. She smiled and waved at him.
He smiled in response and teased her, “Seems like you enjoy video calls very much. Do you enjoy seeing your hubby’s face that much?”
Emily actually blushed but she didn’t disappoint him cause she gave him her usual glare.
She wanted to say something but he stopped her, “I’m sorry.”
She looked confused, “Why?”
“I should have informed you that I am coming to Singapore. But trust me, I am not going to do anything wrong. I have come here to visit my friends and attend the get-together. We’ll be back before Monday,” He explained to her.
Emily looked surprised. She smiled and asked him, “Why are you telling me all these when…?” She paused, leaving her words unfinished. He nodded, knowing what she wants to say.
She probably wanted to remind him that she isn’t actually his girlfriend. ‘All I know is that you are in love with her!’ Ray’s voice flashed in his head.
He smiled and told her, “It’s nothing. What are you doing?”
“I just got out of the shower that’s why I missed your call. So I decided to video call you instead,” Emily smiled back. She doesn’t understand why it’s so easy to return his smile.
Ryan gulped slightly and brought his face closer to his screen. “Like you are completely naked now?” He asked in a teasing tone.
Emily gasped and froze. “You jerk!” She yelled and grabbed the nearest piece of clothing to throw at the screen without even looking at it.
The screen was suddenly covered with underwear Ryan knew too well. He chuckled when he heard her gasp and immediately remove the underwear.
But he didn’t miss the opportunity to tease her, “Did you just throw your panties at me? Never knew you were so eager, baby.” He even spoke huskily.
Emily almost screamed. She didn’t think it was possible for her face to be this red coloured but Ryan proved her wrong.
She moved backwards and showed him the clothes she was wearing. “See… I am not naked and you jerk, that panty was a mistake!”
“Seems like that’s my favourite part of your underwear from now on. Your shorts look cute,” He commented, his eyes stripping the shorts off her.
The shorts were incredibly short, showing off those smooth, creamy thighs. When she twirled around, it displayed her perfectly curved backside.
Emily visibly shivered at his hot gaze. When did the conversation get to this? “Please, don’t be mad at Scott anymore. It’s okay for brother-in-laws to play a prank on their sister-in-laws,” She immediately changed the subject.
Meanwhile, behind the tree that was just a few steps away from Ryan, Pearl stood there. Her face was red with anger. Her eyes were glassy with tears as she heard the couple’s conversation. When she decided her fragile heart couldn’t anymore, she walked away.
“Did he ask you to say this to me? This won’t help him,” Ryan immediately rejected her.
Emily pouted and Ryan’s eyes unintentionally fell on her lips… Why does he feel like licking his phone screen? Why is he acting this way like he is going crazy with every passing second away from Emily?
“Please… Just this once,” She pleaded.
“Okay but I have a condition,” He looked away from her lips, focusing on her face. His eyes refused to stray downwards.
“You can’t go on a date with whoever it is you are going with to that seaside restaurant,” Ryan’s words surprised Emily.
She almost groaned. If she knew that would get her into this kind of a mess, she’d rather have kept it to herself.
“But…”
“No but. You have to listen to your hubby. I’ll talk to you later cause I have to go now. Bye,” He even disconnected the call without letting her even speak. She could have sworn that she saw him blow a kiss at her just before the call ended.
Emily didn’t realize that she was smiling whilst still holding the phone. She finally shrugged off the thoughts and searched for Steve’s number.
But she couldn’t do it. She could press the message icon no matter how she tried. Should she send the message to Steve or just defy Ryan’s instruction?
