“Scott, do you want to be like him? He asked me softly. Even though she didn’t mention who he she is talking about. Her eyes were gesturing at Ryan and this made Scott chuckle.
“You had better not let Ryan hear you or you won’t be able to save yourself,” Sam immediately warned her and she hit him gently on his legs.”Ssshh… Your noise will even implicate us,” She hushed him.
Then she turned back to Scott, “I just don’t want him to become an old bachelor like Ryan.” Scott chuckled again.
“Sister-in-law, I’ll surely go back to visit mother whenever brother agrees to come home,” Scott gave a curt reply.
Mia couldn’t help but look at Ryan. Why the heck is he always being stubborn and all? If only he had agreed to go back home, aunt won’t be calling her to ask her in persuading her two runaway sons back home.
But no… He’ll never listen to anyone. “Don’t worry sister-in-law,” Scott tried to assure her when he noticed that his eyes are on Ryan. “Once brother agrees to go back home and visit mother, I’ll follow him.”
“It’s already getting late though. I should wake him up so we can take our leave,” Scott informed her, standing up.
“Ryan,” Sam already shook him gently to wake him up. “Are you planning to sleep here tonight? I’ve only just gotten rid of that little angel, I don’t need another burden like you to disturb my and my wife’s lovemaking session.”
Scott burst into laughter and Mia blushed. Ryan only glared at Sam and walked out without saying a word to anyone. Sam looked confused. He scratched his head nervously and asked no one in particular, “What’s with the bad mood? I only woke him.”
“Goodbye, brother… Goodbye, sister-in-law. I have to make sure brother gets home safely in one piece without destroying the steering wheel in anger,” Scott hurriedly rushed out.
“Brother, let me drive you home. I’ll ask my chauffeur to come to pick up my car,” Scott suggested and quickly got into the driver seat of the black Mercedes Benz. He seems to have a habit of leaving his things behind.
He started the car engine and as he drove out, he turned to look at Ryan when he noticed that the latter hasn’t said a word. “Ryan,” he called out softly but still no response.
“Ryan!,” He said loudly this time and Ryan turned to glare at him without still saying another word. And that was when he noticed it. The car swerved briefly as he lost balance in shock.
He immediately held the steering wheel and pressed the brake to stop the car. “Brother, what’s wrong with you? Why have your eyes turned…,” The words got stuck in his mouth as Ryan’s eyes colour turned to be a combination of flaming red and blue together.
He’s never seen this before and rather than being worried, he was kinda curious. What is happening to Ryan?
He reached out to touch him but Ryan moved backwards. The more he came closer, the further he moved backwards. But he still remained motionless like he couldn’t hear or see anything around him but the sanity is still there.
“Ryan!,” Scott shouted as he still tried to touch him. There was no more space for Ryan to move backwards so he opened his mouth and spoke in the strangest, deepest voice Scott has ever heard, “Don’t touch me!”
Scott had to close his eyes in pain cause Ryan just sounded like there is a box of loudspeakers in him. To make it worse, the windows of the car are rolled upwards so the words could only resound and echo in the car.
“What’s wrong?” Scott looked up briefly when he heard Ryan’s familiar voice. He was surprised to see Ryan sitting opposite him… The Ryan he is familiar with. He looked confused wondering what had just happened.
“What’s wrong with you? Why were you just holding your ears now?” Ryan queried and Scott looked even more puzzled. He looked around and everywhere with everything was looking normal so what had just happened.
“It’s nothing,” He answered quietly and started driving, all the while wondering if he had imagined what just happened or if Ryan had really turned into an entirely different person!
“I hope you don’t want to come over tonight cause you are still not welcome. You are banned from coming here from now on till further notice,” Ryan’s sudden words jolted Scott out of his thoughts.
He looked at his brother and turned back to the car door he was locking. “Okay,” He replied slowly and this made Ryan who was just about to touch the doorknob stop.
He turned back to look at Scott with a weird look. “Are you sure you are okay?” He asked a little bit worriedly.
Scott stared back for a while without answering. He only had to look at Ryan again and remember what had happened in the car earlier… It had felt so real so why is Ryan acting like nothing happened or did he really imagine it?
He looked so confused and wanted to ask Ryan so questions but decided against it. “I’m fine… It’s just that you’ve always been kicking me out and I’m fed up of coming back so that’s why,” He gave another answer.
Ryan squinted his eyes at him like he could sense that Scott is lying but in the end, he said, “You can come in if you want to. Not like you would stay away anyway.” He quickly added the last statement so it wouldn’t look like he is worried about Scott.
Scott smirked when he heard this and followed Ryan inside immediately. Opportunity comes but once.

“Did I give any sign that I was lonely!?,” Emily looked like she was on the verge of stabbing Lena with the kitchen knife in her hands.
“Sister, I don’t know why you are so angry… I just want to do something to make you happy after what that scumbag did to you,” Lena’s words were like cold water poured on Emily to drench her anger.
She looked at Lena’s pitiful state and realized that she was overreacting.
