I looked at Zain and Logan. “Ready your packs in a week. We don’t exactly know when he will come. But it will be after Logan kills his men and under a month of their deaths. He won’t wait for much longer. We c-”
The door opened a growl left my lips. Who dared to disturb us?
It surprised me when I saw Vanessa. How did she get here? Where the fuck is April? Her eyes were droopy and she was biting the nail of her thumb.
“What are you doing here, Nessa?” I walked to her and peeked out of the door to find no one. How did no one see this little girl walk alone this late?
“Avalyn is sick.” Tears rose in her eyes.
‘Ava, you okay?’ I immediately mind-linked Ava.
‘Yes, Mi Amor, much better than earlier. I’m showing Luna Belle the palace right now. Is everything okay?’
‘Everything is perfect. Have fun.’ I cut the mind link.
“She was sick yesterday, Nessa. She’s fine now.” I picked the little girl up in one arm and walked towards everyone.
Max came to take her from me so I could carry on the meeting but she let out a soft cry and wrapped her arms around my neck, digging her nose in my neck and taking in my scent. She doesn’t want to go to Max. Was the world coming to an end? This never happens. Max looked worried but I just shrugged.
“You okay?” I asked softly and I felt her nod against the crook of my neck.
“Let’s continue.” I motioned everyone to go ahead. And they did.
“Soare Luna could have a few landmines too. Not a lot since the witches will directly poof here but a few to protect our borders. We won’t need men to defend that area at least.” We shared a lot of our borders with our enemy packs. These bombs will help with the load. “Anything else anyone wants to add?” I rubbed Vanessa’s back. She was almost asleep.
“What about the High Council and the enforcer army?” Zain asked. “We will openly be going against their rules and guidelines. General Jonathan isn’t the one to stand back when a war is brewing.”
“Adrik has been doing that since centuries and they haven’t said a word. They take our tax money, fund their own entertainment and fantasies and help Adrik. I came to a realisation after attending the VARS. From this year, Soare-Luna is going to stop paying them a dime and we are not going to associate with them either. I want nothing to do with those prejudiced, old-minded hags.” I hissed and then a smirk formed on my lips at the thought of their General and the images I receive of him every day. “And trust me, Jonathan isn’t going to be a problem. In fact, he won’t say a word.” More like he won’t be able to.
“If you say so.” Logan smirked. “And I’ll be following your example once I come in power. I have no inclination to pay taxes to them.”
I nodded. Smart wolf. “I don’t know what’s up with your father but tell him to pull his head out of his ass so he can see what is happening right in front of him. You’re a good wolf, Logan. I would prefer to see you alive.” I patted his shoulder.
“Yes,” Zain nodded, “our doors are open if you need any help.” I nodded in agreement.
Both the Alphas had a decent head on top of their shoulders. It gave me some hope that we would win this war.
We walked out together only to find our women chatting in the seating area in the foyer.
Ava and Luna Belle looked at us when we arrived before they looked at each other and shared secret smiles. Ava got up and walked to be before she pecked my cheek. “What is she doing here?” Ava motioned towards a sleeping Vanessa in my hand.
“She came in the Council Room, crying that you’re sick.” I kissed her lips. I had missed her. And I was relieved to know she was better now.
“Well I’m not sick anymore.” She rubbed the little girl’s back with a soft smile. “Let’s put her to bed.”
I nodded.
Ava shared a hug with Belle before the three guests went to their bedrooms, a slave leading them.
I put my free hand around Ava’s waist as we made our way to the West Wing and the to Nessa’s bedroom. Adrian was fast asleep so I silently put her on the bed and covered her with blankets.
“I made a new friend.” Ava said with a giddy smile once we were out of the kids’ bedroom. “She’s nice and kind and she likes my jokes!”
“At least someone does.” I poked fun at her and ended up getting elbowed in the side.
“My jokes are good, alright?” She scowled.
“Oh yeah? Prove it.” I challenged playfully as we entered our bedroom and shut the doors and began stripping.
With a challenging glint in her eye she pushed down my bottoms along with my boxers and dropped to her knees. She licked my entire length before grabbing me.
My dick instantly turned rock hard.
She sucked on my head and then backed up before looking up at me, her brown eyes shining evilly.
“Say I’m funny or I’ll do a practical joke on you right now.” Her eyes glinted with mirth as her tongue darted out to lick my pre cum. A groan escaped deep from deep within my belly, my head tilting back in pleasure.
“You’re funny, Love. You’re fucking hilarious.”
