Nikolai
“Okay, tell us what we got.” I said and then Andrei stepped forward.
We were in the Small Council Room right now. The women and children had been excused from the meeting. We were too many people already and we could tell them the plan later anyways. And this was in no sense the final plan. This was just the rough draft my brothers had made on a short notice.
In the middle of the room was the 3D model of our supernatural island along with the vampire kingdom’s islands around it.
“His plan is world domination but he will start with our island first. This is where the rocky hills of his pack is located,” Andrei showed on the map and placed a figurine of a witch on top of the rocky hills. “And this is the main town of Mystic Lupus,” he placed the figurine of a wolf head. “We will take the worst into consideration so let’s assume Verdura is supporting him. This is the main town of Verdura Pack.” He placed another wolf head figurine.
“There are two scenarios-he either attacks the packs one by one or all of them together. But if he does it together, he has to divide his army and the risk increases. So we think that he will do it one by one. At first, Adrik will attack Red Moon Pack-the pack it shares the most boundary with, next to ours. He won’t need Verdura’s wolves for that. They are too far anyways. Once he does that, it is common sense that Alpha Zain will approach us for help. So he will attack both our packs together. His wolves will attack Wintercrown and the witches will come here. An uphill fight is simply wasting good wolves. His witches can just poof here and kill us.”
“What about the Verdura wolves?” Logan asked.
“They will first attack Silverwitch Bay, then a few of them will kill the humans and the rest will spread to cover and conquer the land or travel to Wintercrown if help is needed.”
“If his goal is world domination, he will need the vampires as well. What are we going to do about that?” Alpha Zain asked.
“Mozog and Poziarne belongs to us,” Natalia said. “Avalyn’s father Javier is the brother of King Josias of Kingdom Voda. Which essentially means it is our ally. And so is Kindgom Prajini. Every kingdom has a strong army of its own. A small part of each of their army is going to come here to help us. Javier has promised to make it impossible for anyone to travel through water once we give him the signal. And as for King Xillian- Ovzdusia is a recluse Kingdom and hates Adrik, they aren’t going to team up. He will start attacking the vampire kingdoms after he has complete control over the main superman island.”
“Seems like you’ve got it all covered-how we’re all going to be dead. Tell us how we’re going to live,” I said. Everything they said made sense and as far as I could think, all bases were covered. I knew I still had to study everything in detail made sure that all bases were truly covered.
“As per our stats, even if we combine our armies and the help we are going to get from the vampire kingdoms, the ratio of our and their side remains 1:4. Their’s is including witches who can kill a few people at once.” Dimitri said.
“Not if we do as Raela said and get those plants, stones and animals. What did King Ciro say?”
“Wait, there is a way to protect ourselves from those witches?” Zain asked.
“Yes. The witches are dead so the magic they will use is going to be black magic.” I replied. “A witch told us a few methods to protect ourselves and our houses from it.” I proceeded to tell them all the materials. “I have ordered all of those things in bulk from King Ciro of Kingdom Prajini. His land is gifted and they have these kinds of things in abundance. I have been a step ahead and took the liberty to order them for both your packs as well.”
Zain released a relieved breath.
“Thank you.” Both of them lowered their heads and I nodded.
“He had the stones ready, they will be arriving tomorrow night along with the flowers and plants. The animals will take some time to capture without harm and then to some more time to transfer here.” Mikhail said and I nodded.
“Forward me the bill, we will pay for our materials.” Logan said and Zain nodded in agreement. “So will we.”
I nodded. I expected nothing less. “What’s going to be our plan of action?”
“First and foremost- children and those unable to fight will go to safe-houses surrounded by the plants. In our pack, we think it’ll be best if we call the entire pack into the palace. It’s the safest.” Andrei said and I nodded. “Each warrior will have one stone on them at all times to ward off black magic.” Goes without saying.
“Once our people are protected from black magic, the witch’s magic will be rendered useless. And then they will be as easy as humans to kill. If we take the witches out, the ratio of army and their comes down to 1:2.”
“Second- we make use of the smuggler’s caves in the mountains for secret attacks, as Nikolai had said.” He said and I smirked. It was a good idea.
“Third- wood bombs.” Max continued. I grew confused. I had never heard of that before. “Wood is one of the few things which kills vampires and wolves instantly. And we have abundance of trees and wood.” He continued. “Have ever heard of landmines?”
I nodded. Humans used that in war. It was a pressure plate-once you step on it, it activates and the second you lift your foot and let go of the pressure, it explodes.
“We could do that. It’s not very difficult to build. Just dig a small hole and put a pressure plate cylinder in it filled with explosives. We can also put wood dust in it. The explosions will kill the wolves around it. The wood dust is super light so it can travel in air and the wolves in a three mile radius will be affected by it. The wood enters through their nose and mouth, enters their bloodstream and collects in their arteries and kills them in seven minutes tops.” Goddamn. “The method to protect yourself from it is simple as well. Cover your nose and mouth with a wet cotton cloth. Our men could do that.”
“And where will we get those bombs? We can’t get them from the humans.” I told him.
“You underestimate me, brother.” He smirked smugly. “I am an esteemed member of the elites of the human society. You forgot that I am a businessman with shares in multiple companies and an owner of an exclusive club.”
“It’s illegal. You can’t do these deals there, Max.”
“Let me handle it.” He waved it away. “Explosives can be done. I’ll try to get guns but I killed a few of their good guys durning my last rampage. They’re a little…” he scratched his stubble thoughtfully, “upset.” Meaning they wanted him dead. But they were measly humans, nothing we needed to be worried about.
“Fine. You do your thing.” I nodded.
“I’ll be leaving for the city after this meeting.”
“You’re leaving after you have a stone on you.” I told him firmly. He held my eyes in challenge before nodding slowly.
“So back to my plan, we can place dust bombs along all the borders that we share with Mystic Lupus and Verdura. If my estimation is correct, the bombs should kill at least one third of their population.”
“We would be killing a lot of innocent warriors who are following orders.” Logan spoke.
“They don’t care about our lives. It’s our lives against theirs. And I will kill to the last wolf to keep my family and my pack safe.” Zain spoke.
“I will too.” Natalia said. Mikhail, Andrei and Dimitri nodded.
“What if there is a way to drag out Adrik and kill him? If their Alpha is dead, the wolves won’t fight. They won’t have anyone to fight for. They will surrender and we will win.” Max said.
“We won’t need to drag him out. He is big on being on the forefront of wars and showing off his powers.” I spoke. “He will be leading the attacks.”
“But where? He can be literally anywhere. Singling him out amongst so many wolves, along so many borders won’t be easy.” Natalia said.
“You’ll have to draw his attention.” Andrei murmured.
“How will he do that?” Mikhail asked.
“I think I won’t have to.” I said. “He will find me. He will be more interested in killing me than anyone else.”
“There is one more thing,” Logan said, “what should I do? Adrik has his men in my pack. We do anything and they will know. We kill them, he will know. And they must already know that we are here.”
“Let him. He will think twice before attacking.” I snorted. “And as for his men in your pack… wait for now. Make a team of the most trusted wolves and tell them everything happened here. Once Max has the wood-bombs ready, we will send some there. Put them in place in the middle of night when everyone’s asleep and then kill them. They know we are conspiring together anyways, war is simply a matter of when. And once his men are killed, he will send in more people for revenge. The wood-bombs will take care of them.”
Logan nodded.
“And the war will begin. At least this way, we will know when the attack will happen and we can be ready. This is better than a surprise attack.”
“I can get the bombs in a week.” Max said.
“Stones and plants come tomorrow. We can distribute them in two days,” Symon said. “The animals will take a week.”
“And we can smuggle the stones and plants in your pack day after tomorrow.” Mikhail said.
“They will know,” Logan let out a breath. If they are distributing stones to everyone in the pack, Adrik’s men will definitely know.
“Gather a group of trusted gardeners and tell them to get to work… without the house owners or anyone else knowing.” Max said. “After you kill the bastards, distribute the stones.”
“That can be done.” Logan nodded gratefully.
