Three days later
Blue Moon Pack
It has been three days since the disappearance of Cassie, and alpha Damien hasn’t been in his right sense since then. Thinking about the time they spent together, the pain she has been through, and everything, the thought of it hurts him badly. Dean wouldn’t stop blaming him for being the reason she disappeared, and he never stopped threatening him.
Standing in the garden and staring up at the sky, he sighs for the umpteenth time, wondering where Cassie has been. Is she OK? Who could’ve captured her? How come nobody knew about it? And how come he felt his body paralyzed that night? Those are the questions he has been asking himself for the past three days, and he hasn’t been able to come up with anything.
Taking a deep breath, he throws his head back as many thoughts conflict in his mind. Still lost in thoughts, he suddenly feels the presence of someone, and tilting his head to his right-hand side, Kai is standing beside her.
“I found a trace…” Kai says and pauses. He snaps his head to look at Kai, having a bright expression on his face. He can’t help getting curious about what he said.
“What’s it? Where is she?” Curious, he asks him and he sighs softly.
“An old friend of mine told me that Cassie is captured by the Luna of Dark blood pack,” Hearing this, his face dilates in confusion as he tries to recall where the pack is. For so many years that he has been existing, this is his first time hearing about that pack.
“Dark blood pack? Is there such a pack?” He asks, trying to be clarified of this confusion that’s already drowning him.
“Yes… This friend of mine was sent into exile some years ago, and he ended up in the Dark blood pack. According to my research, the pack has not many werewolves, but they’re said to be very strong and have many powerful warriors. According to what I heard, all the werewolves there were sent into exile, so they’re kind of a group of rogues that came together to form a small pack, and ruled by a she-wolf that most of them know nothing about…” Kai pauses and sighs briefly.
“The Luna is said to be someone not too popular, and her identity is hidden. It’s unclear what her motive is, but I think you and Dean are her targets. I have no idea why she’s doing this, but it seems like she’s trying to use Cassie as bait,” Hearing this, his face dilates in shock and confusion. While wondering who the woman is, he can’t also help wondering about what she wants from him that’ll make her go to the extreme length of abducting someone. There’s more to know about this, and he has to go rescue Cassie as soon as he can.
“Send words to Ralph and tell him to mobilize the soldiers. We’re launching an attack on the dark blood pack in three days. I want you to do more investigation about the pack, and give me every necessary information that’ll help me there. I must get Cassie out of there,” He says to Kai, walking away from the garden, while Kai just sighs briefly. It’s time to get to work again.
Turning around, he strides out of the garden…
Blood Moon pack…
“You don’t have to do this, Lydia. I know you don’t want to. It’s fine, you don’t have to worry about me,” Lydia’s brother, Lucien says, cupping her cheeks in his trembling hands. His body looks so dirty, his fingers are long with the underneath dirty, his skin looks rough and unkept, and his hair is messy and dirty. It looks like he hasn’t had his bath in a few months, and he smells awful.
“I need to save you from this, Lucien. Father is going to hurt you if I disobey him this time around. This is the only chance I have to save you, and I won’t let it go to waste, just like that. You don’t have to worry about me, I’ll be fine,” She assures him, but he shakes his head in denial.
“I insist, Lydia. Your happiness matters to me more than anything…”
“You have been protecting me all your life… You have always been there for me, and you always made sure that I was happy… It’s my turn to return that favor to you… It’s my turn to protect you, and I won’t listen to you no matter what you say,” She shakes her head again, smiling at him as a drop of tears slid down her cheek. Not that she wants to do this, but knowing that this is the only way to protect him, she can’t possibly fold her arms and watch him get killed by their father, right?
“I’m sorry that I have to put you through this. I’m sorry that…”
“Shhhhh! Come on,” She pulls him into her arms, as they both cry their eyes out…
Later in alpha Kayden’s study…
Lydia stares at him in resentment. Seeing him disgusts her so much, and she wishes that there was something she can do about it. She just wishes she can strangle him to death. He’s the perfect definition of a devil. How can someone treat his own children like a piece of trash? How can someone treat his own children like they’re not even his blood? As much as she hates to refer to him as her father, knowing that fact can never be denied, she can’t help it. He’s still her father anyway.
“I can see that you have changed your mind… That’s thoughtful of you. You know, I have always known you to be a strong lady that’s ready to make sacrifices for the sake of the people she loves, and for that, I’m so proud of you,” How he manages to say that trash is still unbelievable, but punching him on the face will do just right for her.
“Yeah… I make a sacrifice for the people I love, unlike you that doesn’t even know what it feels like to love anyone, let alone make a sacrifice for them… But it’s good to know that nobody cares about you either anyways. Isn’t that sweet enough?” The corner of her lips slowly twitches into a smirk, followed by her eyes rolling.
He clenches his fists, glaring hard at her with his heart broken. If only she understands why he has to do this, then she wouldn’t be blaming him for doing this. He’s making this sacrifice for the sake of them, but too bad that she doesn’t even care to know.
“How was I not supposed to change my mind, when I have no option? Anyways, I’m here now… So, what’s it that you want to send me?” She asks sarcastically, and he sighs briefly.
“The painted girl… I want you to get rid of her. She’s currently in the Dark Blood pack… She was abducted by their Luna some days ago, and she needs to be eliminated. I don’t want you to make mistake this time around,” He says, looking everywhere else except his face.
“For how long do you plan to do this for Nicolai?” Hearing this, he snaps his head up to look at her. How did she know about that?
