Her heart skips a million times at the sight of the cologne. She open her mouth to talk, but words failed her. The cologne was given to her by her dad years ago, but he never told her what it’s used for. He had told her to always apply it on her skin and also keep it safe, so no one would ever see it.
Back then when her dad had given that to her, she was suspicious but she never dared to ask him any questions, regarding the cologne. For someone that hated her from birth, giving her cologne as a gift was something that seems to be impossible, that was what gave her the impression that there was more to the cologne than her dad had told her. Seeing the dark expression and anger on the alpha’s face, she knows that there’s a problem, and whatever the problem is, has got something to do with the cologne her father gifted her.
She picks it up with her trembling hands and holds on to it tightly. For years, she has cherished the cologne, because it’s the only gift her father ever gave her, as far as she had come to know, and even if it wasn’t given to her out of love, she pretends like it was.
“My… my father gave it to me,” She stutters nervously, looking everywhere else except his face. Even if she’s not looking at his face, she can tell from the aura that keeps radiating from it, that there’s a fire on the mountain.
“You’re a werewolf?” His voice is full of shock and surprise. For years, that bastard had covered his scent with this cologne that contains the strongest plant for scent covering, and nobody ever suspected that they were not humans, bringing the pieces together, he concludes that he’s the person he had been looking for.
Her eyes are slowly narrow at the question he just asked, and she pulls a puzzled look. She didn’t think there was a possibility of her being a werewolf, that’s something she can never imagine happening, and neither will she believe such a thing. She grew up being a human, at least that’s what she believes.
“I… I… I don’t understand,” She stutters, getting disturbed about the whole thing happening already. The fact that she’s yet to understand what’s going on, and another problem surfacing, keeps driving her to the edge of craziness.
“Guards! Guards!” He roars, and two guards rush in. I’ve not seen these guards before, so it seems like they’re new or I just have not seen them before. Oh! I forgot that I just came here. It’s just a day that I’m here, and it feels like I’ve been suffering for hundred years. I wonder how horrible the rest of my stay here would be.
“My lord,” They both bow slightly.
“Summon the member of the councils, now!” His eyes pierce at her kneeling on the floor, as he speaks with audacity. He looks furious, his eyes are now looking as dangerous as ever, and an invisible fire burns around him.
“Yes, my lord,” They both bow and walk away.
“You’re nothing, but the seed of a traitor! I will make sure that I make you pay for everything,” He threatens her and walks away, while she stares at his receding shadow in confusion. She hardly understands what’s happening, and yet she can’t even ask anyone to explain it to her. At this point she needs to see madam Leila, maybe she’ll have answers to all her questions, but that seems like it’s not happening.
She thinks about everything, but the more she thinks about it, the more confusing it seems to be…
In the throne room…
“She’s the one,” He stares into space, anger written all over him. Silence assumes the atmosphere for split minutes. One of them finally stands up.
“My lord, what are you going to do with her?” Lord Luther stands up and asks.
“Death! That’s the reward for betrayal,” His deep and cold voice echoes in the throne room, and they all glance at each other.
“Guards!” He roars, and three guards rush in.
“Bring her here,” He instructs them, and they bow before they exit to carry out the order. The expression on the werewolves’ faces depicts pity, they really want to intervene, but who dares to do that, especially when the alpha is angry? Alpha Damien is someone that doesn’t give regard to his most important person, especially when he’s angry.
Minutes later, the door suddenly opens, and the guards drag Cassie in. She looks confused, but when she set her eyes on the alpha, she realizes what this is all about.
“Argh!” She winces in pain as they push her to her knees.
Her whole body trembles, seeing the people around. The look on their faces shows that they’re not ordinary people. She gulps down nothing nervously, trying to understand what’s happening.
“I wanted to kill you, but now I have a change of mind,” He finally speaks up after a long silence, and she pulls a puzzled look. She still doesn’t understand what he is talking about. Why would he kill her? What is her offense? Those are the questions that keep parading her mind nonstop.
“Wh… why? What… what did I do?” She manages to question nervously, whilst praying that she won’t end up being killed for asking that question.
“How dare you question me, you daughter of a traitor!” He springs up and teleports to her front, clutching her neck and choking the life out of her. His eyes darken, veins pop out of his neck, his body suddenly becomes hairy and his fingers slowly grow longer, piercing into her neck.
“Give me a reason why I shouldn’t kill you! Your father killed my father and ran away with the Luna, tell me why I shouldn’t kill you for your father’s mistake?” He roars in a cold and deep voice, while she just struggles to keep her eyes open, but the force he is applying to her neck is killing her slowly.
“My lord, please calm down,” Lord Luther pleads with Damien, and he releases her, sending her roughly to the floor.
“Get ready to see nothing here, but pain,” He roars and with that, he teleports out of the throne room…
