Chapter 694: Naming her, Claud.

Book:Devoted Love, Mr. Hayes' Darling Wife Published:2024-6-2

Eduardo Tercero, tall and erect, walks past Claudio Belles and sits down on the side of the couch.
The man exerts great pressure on Claudio Belles despite sitting quietly without speaking.
Claudio Belles is a qualified undercover agent, but he has been on so few missions and in so few emergencies that, his position in the Ming organization aside, he is nothing more than a young girl coming of age.
Trying to escape the lie detector will definitely reveal a flaw if you don’t have a strong psychological profile.
Claudio Belles quietly moved his hand behind him, Eduardo Tercero was sitting on the couch, not far away but with him having a certain blind spot for her.
Claudio Belles took a silver needle out of his pocket and stuck it straight into her finger. It hurt, but she didn’t dare frown half as much as she would have, her expression would fall all on Eduardo Tercero’s eyes.
A lie detector identifies a lie by the heart rate produced by the psychological effects of the lie, and by the heart rate used to determine if the test subject is lying.
Claudio Belles fought through the pain in his fingertips, looked at the lie detector, and deliberately asked, “What is this?”
Eduardo Tercero’s dark eyes were on her and his voice was flat, “A lie detector.”
“You suspect me of lying to you? But I really don’t remember anything.”
Eduardo Tercero was unfazed, “If you’re lying or not, sit down and answer a few questions for me to check.”
Claudio Belles deliberately brushed his lips, “Old people have a lot on their minds.”
As he mumbled impatiently, he sat fearlessly at the lie detector.
But Eduardo Tercero has good hearing, even sharper than usual, and naturally heard his little complaint.
The man frowned slightly, “What did you say about me, old man?”
He was only twenty-five, where age, when a man is at his most youthful and cocky.
Claudius Belles growled lightly, “You are seven years older than I am, of course I think you are old.”
A deep gleam of understanding crept into the man’s eyes, “Don’t you have amnesia and remember nothing?
If so, how can you remember how old you are?
Oops.
Claudio Belles’ little heart stuttered, a subliminal question that might actually reveal itself.
However, Claudio Belles was not the typical ignorant eighteen year old girl and answered with barely a pause, “Of course I know I’m eighteen, I’ve been in the hospital for many days and I’ve seen the medical records several times, it always says eighteen, just not my name. By the way, what’s my name, you still haven’t told me what my name is.”
The man’s dark eyes stared at her for three seconds before his voice broke coldly, “I’ll tell you, after you’ve taken the test, your name.”
-If she had lied, there would have been no need for a name, for he would have thrown her into the river to feed the fish.
The girl brushed her lips, a little helplessly, “Good. Little one.”
Claudius Belles sat down on the lie detector and the silver needle in his hand dug harder into the flesh of his finger, his scalp tingling with pain.
The polygrapher placed several sensors on his body and when everything was in place, the polygrapher respectfully said to Eduardo Tercero, who was sitting off to the side, “Mr. Eduardo, it’s time to begin.”
Eduardo Tercero’s long, bony fingers tapped the desk, one by one, with a soft, rhythmic stroke that left the whole person hanging.
“Have you lost your memory or not?”
“I don’t remember anything, I found myself in the hospital as soon as I woke up, I only met you and found you very dear.”
Old K, who was standing to one side, had a question mark on his face: affectionate? How could this beautiful lady know that the gentleman was affectionate? She had been with Eduardo Tercero since he was a child, and in all the years she had followed him, she had never felt that Eduardo Tercero was affectionate!
Eduardo Tercero’s dark eyes stared at her as he kept throwing out a second question, “Were you actually undercover, did you pretend to have amnesia to infiltrate me and get some confidential information or to take the opportunity to kill me?”
“Not me, I don’t really remember anything, and besides I don’t kill people.”
“Are you from the Ming organization?” Eduardo Tercero drops a third bombshell.
Claudio Belles pulled out the silver needle, the pain was instantly much less and his heartbeat stayed within the range of the heart rate he had just had, he calmly replied, “What is the Ming organization? I don’t know it, is it a place to enter the Church?”.
Old K heard the answer, clenched his fist to cover his lips and let out a choked laugh.
A place to enter the church? Girl, that’s a place where the best agents and mercenaries in the world gather, and those agents and mercenaries are totally murderous.
It was the first time old K had ever heard anyone say that the Ming organization was a place where old men and women went into the Church to pray the rosary.
Eduardo Tercero’s three most important questions were asked, and the man’s eyes met the lie detector, which gently shook Eduardo Tercero’s head before answering, “Mr. Eduardo, the young woman is not lying, the rhythm of her heartbeat and the characteristics of her muscle tremors when she answered your three questions were hardly any change.”
Claudio Belles got up from the lie detector chair, “Now they will accept me, won’t they?”.
The man rose from the couch and his gaze faintly rested on her small, palm-sized melon face, “You want me to take you in that badly?”
“I don’t remember anything now, I only know you. If you won’t take me in and I don’t have any money on me, where can I go? I don’t want to go begging for food, it’s dirty and tiring.”
It is normal for eighteen-year-old girls to be afraid of getting dirty and tired.
As Eduardo Tercero climbed the stairs, he said nonchalantly to the girl following him, “You can stay with me if you want, but I’m not a place that feeds idle people for nothing, so when you’ve learned the skills of life, get out.”
Claudio Belles didn’t bother with him, after all, she was in a position to answer to her master, and since she had done her part, it was time to find a way to approach Eduardo Tercero and get some confidential information out of him.
She followed him upstairs and asked, curious as a baby, “You haven’t told me my name.”
The man’s erect, broad back gave a slight wince, his legs stopped as he looked at her again and he blurted out the words, “Claud, your name.”
Claudius Belles: …
It’s as random as naming a kitten or a puppy.
At least have a spring flower or an autumn moon, but it turns out there’s not even a maiden name, Claud? She’s still tough.
Claudio Belles chanted the name “Claud,” trying to get used to it, as he followed Eduardo Tercero down the stairs, only to be stopped by Eduardo Tercero.
“Don’t follow me, there are many rules in this house, ask old K if you don’t understand and he will tell you. The most important one I want you to remember is that you are not allowed to enter my studio half-heartedly.”
Claudius Belles uttered a good-natured “oh” and froze on the stairs.
The man’s handsome chin tilted slightly, beckoning him to come down.
Claudius Belles had to turn around and descend the stairs slowly.
