You were searching for me?

Third Person’s POV:
“Um, well, Riven. After visiting Stefan, I came to check on you before but you were not here”, Giselle replied with a small smile, not letting him know that she had become an FBI agent and was following him around in the dark forest.
“Yeah, I went out” Riven spoke honestly.
“Can I ask you where?” Giselle asked, her voice sounded a bit tensed but she didn’t let her smile fade.
“Of course, you can. You are my mate”. Riven caressed her cheek gently.
“I went to the forest to meet Erica. She called me and told me. She needs my help and it’s urgent. But it was just her gibberish talk! I regret going now”, Riven said with a deep sigh of frustration.
“Don’t you think I could doubt you if you took her name in front of me?” Giselle asked with a fake smile.
“I swear to God, nothing happened between us, Giselle! I just went there and came back! I didn’t call her here because I didn’t want to hurt you. There is nothing between us! I.. I..” Riven spoke everything in one breath, he was literally stuttering.
“I trust you, Riven!” Giselle said with a genuine warm smile.
She felt guilty for lying to him. She knew lying would just complicate their relationship more and end up destroying it. Someday, he will know the truth and then there will be no trust between them. Hence, I decided to speak the truth.
“Thank you so much, baby” Riven replied, smiling.
Giselle couldn’t bear with the guilt anymore, so she burst open in front of him.
“Riven, I can’t lie to you anymore. I followed you to the forest”, Giselle spoke while looking down.
“You did? How can I not notice?” Riven asked in a confused tone.
“Natalie did a protection spell. No one could hear or see us” Giselle replied honestly.
“But I can recognize your scent!” Riven said while looking at her.
“Huh?” Giselle asked confusedly.
“At some point in the forest, I felt like I had your scent, but then you were nowhere to be found, so, I thought I was imagining things and kept on walking”, Riven replied truthfully.
Giselle remembered the moment when Riven was looking straight at them and then he looked around like he was searching for something and went away.
Giselle remembered the incident as she thought her soul was leaving her body.
“You were searching for me?” Giselle shouted excitedly.
“Huh? Yeah. I thought you were there but I couldn’t see you”, Riven replied, smiling when he got to know that he wasn’t imagining things and she was really there.
“I was in the direction you were looking at, then you kept walking. I heard your conversation with Erica and how you rejected her. Sorry, it was really wrong of me to follow you like that”, Giselle said in embarrassment.
“It’s okay, Giselle. Thank God, you did follow me. We won’t be having any misunderstandings from now on”. Rather than being angry about following him, he cupped her face and spoke with a bright smile.
“You are capable of smiling brightly or am I dreaming?” Giselle asked in a flabbergasted tone.
“I can smile brightly, okay!” Riven sounded so offended and there was a cute pout on his face.
“Okay, don’t be so offended. I was just kidding!” Giselle said while pinching his cheeks.
She couldn’t help but find him too cute to handle.
He looked towards her and smiled before taking both of her hands in his.
“Giselle, sweetheart, I want to tell you something”
