Giselle’s POV:
“Then who the heck called me?” Stefan asked in astonishment.
“Was it one of the foxes?” I asked in a confused tone, and then my mind went to the reason why we were leaving the lake house in a hurry.
“Wait, what about my mother?” I asked in a worried tone.
“She is fine. She didn’t have a heart attack! It was fake news”, Kevin said in a reassuring tone.
“Thank God!” I took a sigh of relief.
“Let’s go home and we can talk about this” Riven said while starting the car.
……..
At Dark Sapphire pack house,
As soon as we reached the pack house, everyone stood from their seats. Their eyes were popping out of their sockets when they saw Stefan’s car, which was completely crashed from one side.
Kevin opened the door for me and I got out of the car.
“Giselle!” Vera shouted my name and ran towards me.
She took me into her warm motherly embrace. I hugged him back lightly. Tears began to fall on her cheeks, “My daughter!”
I wiped her tears and tried to comfort her, “I am okay, mom”
She then hugged Stefan, “My Son, who attacked you so mercilessly?”
“Stefan! Giselle! My kids! I heard what happened! Are you two, okay?” Alpha Riley asked in a concerned tone at the same time.
“We are fine, dad. Kev and Riv came on time to protect us! Those foxes attacked us out of the blue”, Stefan explained in a casual tone.
“How come they know that only you two were at the lake house? Your time of leaving and all this?” Alpha Riley asked in a curious tone.
“I don’t know that either, Dad”, Stefan replied in a helpless tone.
We were about to move in, when Riven’s loud voice made us stop.
“Wait a minute!” Riven said and looked at us.
“I have a question too”. Riven looked a bit too serious, hence, Stefan and I exchanged looks.
“Ask it out, Riven”, Stefan said in a casual tone.
Riven looked around towards the pack members and then shook his head like he was going through an internal battle.
“Let’s go to father’s study and we can talk there privately” Riven said with a small nod.
“Why in the study? Why not out here?” Alpha Riley asked in a muddled tone.
“Because if it is what I am thinking, then this is necessary now” Riven replied, confusing everyone even more.
Only one person from the entire pack house understood what he was trying to say and that one person was none other than his own elder brother, Alpha Kevin Smith!
“I guess Riven has a point. Everything that happened was not normal. So, if he thinks it is necessary to talk in your study, we must not question it”, Kevin added with an understanding nod.
“Okay”, Alpha Riley nodded in agreement as he trusted Kevin the most amongst the triplets.
Kevin held my hand and guided me towards Alpha Riley’s study room.
Alpha Riley, Vera, Kevin, Stefan, Riven, Caleb and I went inside his room. Caleb was the last one to enter the room. He closed the door behind him.
“Speak, Riven. We can’t stay in suspense the whole day”, Alpha Riley demanded the answer. He was beyond curious to know.
“Give him some time to prepare his explanation” Kevin, the most understanding brother, said.
Riven coughed to get everyone’s attention and then turned towards Caleb.
“Who called you Stefan?” Riven asked directly.
“Caleb” Stefan pointed towards Caleb nonchalantly.
“I meant the number! Was it Caleb’s number?” Riven asked in a serious tone.
Stefan and I exchanged looks before Stefan spoke,
“No. Not all” and shook his head.
“What do you mean by ‘not all’? How many calls did you receive?”
