Giselle’s POV:
“Mother had a heart attack!” Caleb replied in an almost crying voice.
“WHAT???!!” Stefan and I shouted in unison.
I got up from bed immediately and sat on the bed in an upright position. All the exhaustion and tiredness were long gone but I was shivering with fear.
“Yes, we are taking her to the hospital” Caleb informed worriedly from the other side.
“Which hospital?” I asked almost immediately.
“Dark Sapphire hospital, of course”, Stefan added nonchalantly.
“Yes, we are taking her to the Dark Sapphire hospital, which is two miles away from our pack house. Please be there soon” Caleb replied, his voice shaking too.
I wanted to ask him so many questions, like, how can she get a heart attack all of a sudden? If it was a minor heart attack or a major one?
She seemed to be absolutely fine when we left. If something happened between her and Alpha Riley to cause such a reaction?
But I controlled myself. Caleb was our younger brother and he gets worried soon. I know he won’t be able to answer any of my questions at the moment. Hence, I avoided asking him anything and worrying him more.
“Oh, okay. Don’t worry, little bro. We will be there soon. Just take care of Vera and father”, I heard Stefan replying calmly.
We both took a small shower, got ready as soon as we could. When we were sitting in Stefan’s car, he removed his cell phone to call someone.
“Whom are you calling, Stef?” I asked in a confused tone.
“Riven. Kevin and Riven must not be knowing it because they are in a meeting”, Stefan replied nonchalantly.
“Then don’t disturb them! We can tell them later” I suggested in an understanding tone as I heard how important this meeting was for Alpha Riley.
“How can I not, Giselle? I know Vera is not our biological mother but she took care of us as our own mother her entire life. If she needs us today, we should be there”, Stefan replied. He sounded offended.
I felt like my heart was melting because of his words. Stefan is truly a gentleman. He is beyond everything I could ask for in a guy.
“Also, she is the reason you are here with us. She gave us this beautiful mate. I can’t thank her enough for everything she did for us” Stefan caressed my cheek with a small smile.
“Ohh..” Was the only reply I could give him as my heart was racing against my chest.
I feel like I can’t thank God enough for giving him to me.
I sat there quietly. Stefan began to drive the car after fastening his seatbelt while keeping the cell phone on his ear.
Being a werewolf and blessed with heightened ability, I could hear everything without the need of loudspeaker. After the third ring, Riven received the call.
“Hello, Riven..?”

Riven’s POV:
He smiled back and patted my shoulder gently. Suddenly, Kevin’s cell phone rang again.
“It’s Caleb. I must receive his call. Father must be sending him with the file because he will never trust anyone with that plot”. Kevin gave me a knowing look and I chuckled.
“Fine, go for it. I will take care of the rest of the arrangements and cross check everything”, I replied while taking the file from his hand.
“Thanks, brother. I will be back”, saying that, Kevin went towards the door.
I was cross checking all the arrangements when my cell phone started ringing.
I saw Stefan’s name on the caller ID. I remembered leaving him all alone with the angry beast.
I knew my playboy brother knew how to handle girls, but Giselle is his weakness too. I don’t know if he will be able to handle our mate after what I did.
Thinking Giselle must be giving him a hard time, I received the call immediately.
“Hello, Riven..? Brother..?” Stefan said, the worry completely evident in his voice.
“What happened, Stefan? Is everything okay? Is Giselle okay?” I asked in a worried tone.
I was scared that Giselle might have taken another impulsive decision in anger.
“Yeah, we are okay. But Vera..” His voice became extremely low and I sensed the change in his voice, hence, due to curiosity, I didn’t let him finish.
“What happened to Vera?” I asked in a concerned tone.
“She had a heart attack! Caleb called me and informed me that they are taking her to the Dark Sapphire hospital right now”. Stefan informed me, his voice was still low, he must be really worried.
Caleb called him? Is this why he called Kevin too? To tell him that Vera had a heart attack?
I turned towards the door. Kevin was standing outside, still speaking over the phone. I could only see his back from the glass door. Without seeing his expressions, I couldn’t understand what they were talking about.
“Gosh! May lord have mercy. Don’t worry, Stefan. I will talk to Kevin. We will be there soon. Just take care of Giselle”, I replied in a calm voice and moved towards the door.
“Okay, be there soon. You too take care” He spoke hurriedly and disconnected the call.
When I opened the door, I saw Caleb standing right in front of me with the file.
He looked at me and flashed his innocent smile. He doesn’t look like someone who just gave information about someone’s near death experience.
“What the hell are you doing here? How’s Vera?” I asked in a muddled tone.
“What happened to mom?”
