“What happened, Riven? Have you seen a ghost?” He asked with a chuckle.
“Her touch…. It felt… familiar..!”
………..
Stefan’s POV:
“But you smell better when I am inside you”, I said another cheesy line with a teasing smirk.
“You are such a flirt, Stefan!” Giselle complained and punched my arm with those delicate hands.
I just love it when she cringes like this. She just looks damn cute!
She got up and began to leave. Me, being the most obedient mate on the earth, got up as well and followed her to tease her even more.
“Hey, I didn’t lie. You do smell better after we c*m together!” I said in a flirty tone.
I stood in front of her to block her way.
“Stop it, Stef! So cringy!” She pushed me playfully while cringing hard.
I couldn’t help but laugh while looking at her adorable blushed cheeks.
Suddenly, the phone in her hand began to ring. The shy smile on her face disappeared in an instant when she checked the caller ID and, obviously, her change of expressions didn’t go unnoticed by me.
She glanced at me from the corner of her eyes and looked at her cell phone again. For the record, I noticed it as well.
After observing the discomfort in her body language, I couldn’t help but ask, “Who is it? Why are you not receiving a call?”
“Oh, it’s a.. um.. a friend’s call” She replied hesitantly.
“Friend’s call? Why are you hesitating to receive it then?” My straightforward a*s asked directly without beating around the bushes.
“Um.. well… that..” was the only reply I received from her.
The discussion we had yesterday popped up in my brain and I looked at her with cold eyes.
“Is it Alpha Tyler?” I asked in a demanding tone.
“What? Tyler? No! Does he have a death wish that he is calling me now?” Giselle replied, looking at me with disbelief.
The way she took Tyler’s name along with the expression on her face, made me feel like she was talking about sh*t.
“Then who is that?” I asked in a confused tone.
“It’s um.. my friend, Natalie Bennet” She replied while looking everywhere but me.
I was shocked when I heard the surname ‘Bennet’ but I still succeeded in composing myself.
“Natalie Bennet? Doesn’t Bennet surname belong to…?” I tried to ask, but before I could complete my statement, Giselle cut me off,
“Witches. Natalie is a Coven witch”, She replied hurriedly.
“Don’t judge her because she is a witch and don’t judge me because I am a witch’s friend”, she added with an adorable pout.
“Why would I judge you? You have every right to make friends irrespective of their species and only you know what and who is good for you. Anyways, how did you meet a witch and become friends with her?” I asked in a curious tone.
Looking at my curiosity, she smiled and began to speak,
“When my mother broke up with my father and came here to marry your father, the kids in my pack as well as other packs used to make fun of me and my father in front of me. I developed a habit of being alone. But my father was concerned when I didn’t play with other kids, so, I started visiting the forest to make him believe that I was playing with other kids outside.”
When I heard it, I felt an immense pain in my heart thinking how alone she must be at such a young age and I wasn’t there for her. My brothers and I were always popular and everyone wanted to be our friend but Giselle, she was all alone.
I was dragged out of my train of thoughts by Giselle’s sweet voice.
“I always went to the forest to avoid meeting people. It became a habit. One day, I met Natalie in the forest sitting near a tree and we became friends. She was also a loner. She had a terrible past too”, she said with a small smile.
“I see, two loners became best friends?” I asked with excitement.
“Yeah, you know, when the neighboring pack’s kids tried to bully me in the forest, Natalie took my revenge on them. One day, she hung all of them on the nearby trees in an inverted position like a caterpillar inside a cocoon for an entire night. Nobody bullied me after that. She was always there for me. I don’t care if she is a witch, she is the only true friend I have”, She said with eyes filled with admiration and she had the most beautiful smile on her face.
I feel like I couldn’t thank Natalie enough for being there for my Giselle and I can’t curse my brothers more for being such jerks to her all this time. Thank God, they came to the right track on time.
“She is the most amazing witch I have ever heard of”, I added with a smile, and Giselle’s face brightened up when she said,
“You think so too?”
I nodded in reply.
“I will call her otherwise she will get mad”, she said in a low voice.
“Okay, go ahead. I will wait inside” I said, thinking she must be needing privacy with her friend.
“No worries. You can stay” she said excitedly, and began to call her best friend.
Natalie received the call almost immediately.
“You.. b*tch! Where were you when I called?” Came a sweet voice of a girl from the other side of the phone.
“I.. Nate.. I was busy!” Giselle replied while swallowing hard.
“With who?” Natalie asked in a demanding tone.
“With my mate!” Giselle replied casually.
“Which one?” She asked excitedly.
“Stefan!” Giselle replied again in a casual tone.
So, she has told her everything about us. She trusts her completely. Also, it’s a good sign. Giselle has already accepted us.
“Oh, the flirty Greek God?” she asked in a teasing tone.
“Yeah” Giselle replied plainly.
“Hello, Mr. Handsome hunk. Nice to speak to you. Make sure you and your brothers keep her happy”, Natalie said. There was a demand in her voice.
“Hey, nice to speak to you too. I will make sure of that. Have a nice chat with your friend”, I replied in a casual voice and moved back.
“Of course, I am going to have it” Natalie replied confidently.
“Are we done? Now tell me, why did you call?” Giselle went straight to the point.
“Oh yes! Yes! Yes! I have good news for you, Giselle!” came the very excited voice of Natalie from the other side.
“What really? What is it? Tell me!” was Giselle’s impatient yet excited reply. She even clapped her hands.
“I found out that there is a way to differentiate between foxes and other creatures!” Natalie informed us cheerfully.
Wait, Foxes? How do they know about foxes? How does Giselle know about the presence of foxes?
“What? What is it?” Giselle asked hurriedly.
Before Natalie could reply, I looked at Giselle with eyes wider than the full moon.
“Giselle, how do you know about foxes?”
