“Bee,” I groaned, growing cold from him trying to leave me and taking his body heat. “Stay.” I clenched his shirt and sighed out as he halted his movements.
“Honey, I have to go,” he whispered to me and lightly grabbed my hand.
I cracked one of my eyes open and looked at him. He frowned at me and kissed my forehead before removing my hand from his shirt.
“But you’re so warm and comfy,” I murmured and tried to pull him back to me, I opened my eyes for a split second to look at the time. “It’s four, where are you going so early?”
“Western border issue, I shouldn’t take long, Flower. I’ll be back,” he kissed me again and I lazily nodded going back to bed.
I was woken again when he came back to bed, as he said, and I was more than happy to sleep with him but Layton decided he was hungry so I had to start my day.
I was cutting up some vegetables. I liked cooking in general and Benylam kindly relocated most of his cooks to the pack house because I was slightly antsy around them. We had two female chefs that stayed, and honestly helped out when the twins needed caring, and Benlyam and I had to work, and I couldn’t focus on dinner.
The twins were out in the living room with Scott and Zachary who were watching something, Scott playing with the twins in his arms. I heard Benlyam come downstairs and walk into the kitchen smiling when he saw me.
“Hey, Flower,” he pressed a kiss to my forehead.
“Get a room!” Zachary shouted and Scott smacked him, pointing to a sleeping Lana in his arms.
Benlyam sighed out and wrapped his arms around my waist, his chest against my back as he dug his face in my neck, pressing light kisses to my neck.
“Flower, we should go to our lake house. We’ll take the kids, it’s nice there,” he squeezed me and I continued to chop up the pepper.
“You have a lake house?” I asked as he picked up a piece and ate it. I frowned and swatted his hand.
“We do, yes. It’s on the Angostura Reservoir, private, it’s basically like a hot spring,” he told me as he slipped his hand up my shirt for skin contact. I elbowed his hand but he kept them there. “We also have a cabin in Michigan.”
“Hot spring?” I wasn’t sure what that was, to be exact. “Isn’t that just a lake?” I asked, my face heating up as I stopped cutting to look at him.
“Uh,” he thought for a second, “not necessarily. It’s a naturally warm body of water because of the volcanic activity.” I nodded and he kissed my cheek as I went back to the vegetables.
“Wait- I don’t want to be, like, in swimwear around people,” I whispered, glancing up at him.
He shook his head, pressing a quick peck to my lips. “Don’t worry about that. It’ll be our little date, Flower.”
Zachary came in and leaned over the counter.
“Flower?” Zachary questioned with his eyebrow raised. “That’s your nickname? Not too clever, Lee. I could do better,” he shrugged.
“I can call her whatever I fucking want,” Benlyam snipped at him, pulling away from my face. “You can’t even come up with something sensible to call her, shut the hell up.”
I bit my lip, feeling slightly uncomfortable with their arguing, they always seemed to be doing that.
“I have great nicknames, Lee. Like Lana is ‘Pebble’ because did you know her name means rock or little rock. Fitting. Night stone pack and everything. Did you know that?” I shook my head because I didn’t. “Layton is in between,” he shrugged, “so I just call him pup.”
“Not your kid to call pup,” Benlyam replied.
“You always have a fucking attitude,” Zachary let out, annoyed. He sighed out. Benlyam went to go snap back at him but I cut him off before they could continue fighting.
“Alright, that’s enough. You’re gonna wake up the twins,” I said as I grabbed the carrots. “Yeah, Lee, you’re gonna wake you the twins,” Zachary repeated.
I heard Benlyam scoff, “how old are you? Fucking hell, Zach. You act just like a goddamn moody two-year-old.”
“How would you even know?” Zachary tested.
“How-”
I sighed out. “Stop,” I cut them off and turned out of Benlyam’s grasp to wash the carrots. “You’re brothers, s-shouldn’t you be nice to each other?” I asked turning back around to continue cutting.
Benlyam sighed out before stealing another pepper and hugging me from behind again.
“Whatever,” Zachary let out sarcastically. “You know what I realized, Violet. Your name is a flower and our mother’s name was a flower. You know, Magnolia?”
I felt Benlyam tense up a little bit, securing his arms around me, some anger brewing in him. I didn’t know what to say so I just awkwardly nodded. I didn’t notice the similarity but I knew it was a flower, it’s Lana’s middle name.
“And Lee, you’re like dad with your anger issues,” Zachary said and I looked up at him with wide eyes and my mouth slightly open.
Benlyam growled at him while pulling me against him, his rage hit me like a boulder. I carefully put the knife down as I heard the twins start to fuss.
( ‘Calm the situation, calm the situation.’ )
I bit my lip and put my hands over Benlyams arms that were around my waist. Just focus on the mate bond.
“I don’t have fucking anger issues, it’s just that half the shit that comes out of your mouth annoys me,” Benlyam seethed, his voice deep. I swallowed and glanced at Zachary who wasn’t backing down in the slightest.
“Pretty sure dad said the same thing. Good luck, Violet, might-” Benlyam cut him off with a menacing growl that shook the cup of water on the table. The twins started to cry out at the sound and I panicked.
( ‘Stop it, Violet!’ )
Benlyam took a step to Zachary, intending on harming him to put him back in place. He tried to let go of my waist so I’d be okay and out of the way, but I grabbed his arms to keep him on me. I turned around in his grip looking at him.
“Lyam, stop,” I put a hand against his chest but he grabbed it to lightly remove it. Zachary growled at his intention and I heard our babies crying loud and clear.
( ‘Calm it!’ )
“What are you gonna do, huh?” Zachary pressed.
Benlyam went to physically move me out of his way but I grabbed on to his arms. “No, stop it,” I pleaded.
Zachary growled at him again and took a step towards us.
“Zachary, chill out!” Scott scolded him from the living room while trying to console the twins.
