Chapter 129 Tread Softly
GOLD PACK
Jovy stared at the email Arlo had sent her. It was a list of Logan’s most priced properties. Before asking for a list as outrageous as the one she was staring at, Jovy had looked through the inheritance she had gotten from her father and realized she has more of Logan’s stated net worth. Her father had actually planned his entire life surrounding her and she was definitely going to make good use of it. Arlo in his usefulness had listed the properties according to how expensive and how dear they were to Logan.
“Perfect!” She mused to herself. She dialed Rebecca. “Can you get me the contact of the realtor that sold the turf around the Mist island?”
“Right away ma’am.”
Jovy saw the reason her father must have retained Rebecca despite her age. She was swift and never wasted time in sorting things out. She doesn’t ask any probing questions, only does as expected. The realtors contact was sent to her within fifteen minutes of her asking.
Using her phone, Jovy called the number. ‘Good afternoon, is this Ellis Harper?’
‘Yes, you are onto him. Who am I speaking with?’ The voice on the other line inquired.
‘Well, say a beneficial client. Tell me, how much is the turf on the Mist island?’
There was a long pause on the other line. ‘It’s sold for a million dollars but someone already purchased it.’
‘I heard it’s a recent purchase and hasn’t been handed over to the said owner yet.’
‘Still doesn’t mean it has been sold.’
‘I don’t want to drag this with you any further I will pay you double of the actual price. Get me the papers of the turf in the next two days.’
‘Ma’am, this isn’t professional. I would be breaking the rule of real estates by doing that.’
Jovy snickered, twirling in her chair and staring at her fingernails. ‘I thought you are an actual business man. Shouldn’t you know better?’ She could hear him gulping hard.
‘Do you mean you would make payment of two million dollars?’
‘One point five million and we have a deal. Still sounds juicy, I know. I would send you my office address and I expect you to come around in the next two days. Have a nice day.’ She cut the call not waiting for his response.
Her heart was racing badly. Jovy could only hope he would give in to the offer. It took her a minute to think of how outrageous paying double seem. Half was just enough, her business management and investment class had taught to make reasonable negotiations. Even if she was on a revenge mission, there is a need to be frugal.
She bit hard on her lips after sending the office address. She can only hope the man would be the greedy type and would take the offer with no refusal. Anastasia had said everyone does have a price. And an extra five hundred thousand dollars should get a nice house on the suburbs of the Gold Pack. He should be grateful, she thought.
Leaning further into the chair, Jovy chuckled to herself. She was definitely going to enjoy every moment in her mission.

TWO DAYS LATER
“Here is your coffee ma’am.” Rebecca handed Jovy a Starbucks coffee cup.
“Thanks so much for this, Rebecca. How did you know I would need it?” Jovy asked taking a sip of the creamy coffee.
“You looked a bit grim when you arrived. I just thought you must have had a light sleep and decided to get you one.”
“I owe you one for this.” Jovy mused, staring at her computer. “Do you have anything for me?”
Rebecca nodded in a hurry. “Yes, ma’am. There is a man here to see you, says he is Ellis Harper.”
The name rang a bell in Jovy’s ear. “You don’t say.” She chuckled when she finally remembered.
Jovy had almost thought he wouldn’t agree to her offer and had almost called him back to see if he
would take the two million dollar offer instead. “Please let him in.” Jovy was surprised to see the Ellis Harper wasn’t so old as she had imagined him to be. He was almost the same age as Rebecca.
“You must be Luna Jovy Brown.”
“Yes, and you are Ellis Harper.”
“I…I didn’t…realize you were Alpha Marcel’s daughter that…everyone has been talking about.” He stuttered, trying to push back his glasses. “I am so sorry for stressing you out for too long and I wouldn’t have tried to negotiate with you for too long.” He bowed slightly.
Jovy grinned, surprised at how much power and money can do. “It’s alright, I didn’t expect you to guess that right on a first meeting. Are you ready for the deal? I have too many things to attend to.”
“Yes, ma’am. I have it right here.” He mused, checking through his bag. He was clumsy at first but eventually found his balance.
It had taken lesser time than Jovy would have ever imagined. Ellis signed off the papers and Jovy kept her end of the bargain. The both of them beamed in delight at each other. She has of course done well. Placing the turf agreement in front of her, Jovy stared at it through the rim of her juice glass, this was her first go at Logan. He would be shocked for what is to come for him next.
Rebecca walked in, taking a seat as instructed. “I have gotten the needed information on the companies the Mystic Shadow Fortress Alpha had invested in. And I must say it took me a long while to get the information. No one wants to give it away.”
Jovy shrugged. “I would have doubted the actuality if they attempted to give it away so easily. Now, your next assignment would be withdrawing our shares from every company that has Logan Odell written on it. You must ensure to keep this to yourself Rebecca. If word gets out I won’t hesitate to blame you for it.” She warned.
Rebecca nodded. “I get the message, Luna. I wouldn’t go against your words.”
Later that night, Jovy couldn’t resist blowing her horns. She had locked her room door behind and put all of her friends and cousin on a conference video call showing off the signed documents that proves she is the new owner of the turf.
Arlo stared in disbelief. ‘This is unbelievable. How rich are you exactly, Jovy? To be able to buy off such property at a higher price than Alpha Logan did? I always thought my Alpha was the richest in all of the packs!’
Anastasia laughed loudly. ‘Then you haven’t been updating your current affairs knowledge. The late Alpha Marcel Brown has been holding down the richest Alpha to ever exist for as long as he lived. And now his daughter owns everything, everything. Put a respect on her name.’
‘Wow!’ Alice and Amelia exclaimed at the same time.
Jovy flipped her hair for emphasis. ‘Guys, I am reeling on the moon right now. I feel so fly. I can’t believe my life would take such different turn in a twinkle of an eye. I feel fulfilled and to think I can exert revenge when I can, makes me super excited.’ They all laughed together.
‘I was never in support of this.’ Arlo said, ‘But judging by just how much it makes you happy, I am glad the Moon Goddess has repaid you generously for your patience.’
‘Logan aside, can you tell us what’s going on between yourself and Xavier now?’ Amelia asked eagerly, mirroring the look on Alice and Arlo’s face.
Anastasia looked displeased. ‘You really are giving in to that two faced bastard?’
‘Stop being so bitter, Anastasia. You are married with two beautiful kids and that husband of yours takes my breath away.’ Alice mused.
‘Thanks for noticing how good looking my husband is but this isn’t about me being bitter. I will advice you tread softly, Jovy.’ Anastasia insisted.
Jovy huffed. ‘Maybe he changed, Ana. Anyone can, he can’t be written off for something he didn’t even realize was unfair years ago. I have felt at peace and happy since I got to know him better. Just be happy for me girl.’
Anastasia didn’t seem too comfortable with Jovy’s interest in Xavier, she wished there was something like an evidence that she could use against him to show Jovy her life would be more hellish with Xavier than her past husband. Since there is nothing much that can be done to change Jovy’s mind, she smiled rigidly.
‘Alright.’ She said.
Jovy bade them goodbyes when her yawns became consistent. Snuggling into her duvet, she couldn’t wait for the share holders meeting that was to take place soon. She would ensure to have the best time of her life now that the universe had given her a chance to live a luxurious life. Her mother didn’t forsake her after all.
