Chapter 86 His Luna
MYSTIC SHADOWS FORTRESS
Patting the car steering as he got stuck in traffic, Logan tried to think of many ways he could start up a conversation with Arlo without sounding defensive. One thing renowned about Logan’s character is how much he doesn’t give a damn about explaining himself to anybody. But Arlo just has his whole remote in his hands. And if he had been a girl most people would have doubted the expression to just be ordinarily natural. They would think he was in love with Arlo.
It’s not like he felt actual guilt to having Jovy instead of Arlo but Logan just couldn’t help the thought of being on Arlo’s bad side. The boy makes him feel a bit of liberation as to the life he is living. The actual truth is, Logan loves Arlo beyond words and would do anything to protect him.
Getting to the airport car park, Logan got out of the car and his heart rang a bell when he sighted Arlo by the waiting line with his bag. It appeared that he was just about to flag down a taxi. Moving with his usual powerful stride, Logan didn’t call out to him until he was about four feet away from Arlo.
“Arlo!” He called out with in his commanding tone.
Arlo stood still at the voice and the image of the person standing in front of him. He had been expecting his uncle or the driver to come pick him up. He would have never thought Logan would take it upon himself to come for him. Seeing the man that he has come to cherish despite everything that keeps happening between them made his heart constrict. The affection he has towards Logan was unexplainable to Arlo himself. Probably, it was due to Logan’s saving grace when he had almost lost his life at age ten while trying to wander around the woods thinking he would shift early just like every other person.
Some rogues had been tormenting the woods of the Mystic Shadow Fortress at that time and Arlo in his usual naughty self had sneaked out without anyone knowing. He was almost about to get life snuffed out of him when Logan showed up from nowhere and had brought every rogue down. Despite getting a deep scar that didn’t quite heal on time, Logan made him promise to not tell Kyrian knowing how much fuss he would throw. Arlo couldn’t get over it and had since loved Logan more.
It had hurt when Logan had insisted on taking the only woman that he has ever truly and deeply love away from him and had only returned when his father couldn’t keep up with his excesses like his uncle.
“Shouldn’t you give me a hug or something?” Logan broke into his thoughts.
Arlo didn’t respond. “Are you the one here to pick me?”
Logan ignored his rudeness. “Yes, I will be your chauffeur for the day.” He tried to make a joke but Arlo obviously didn’t find it funny.
Going past him, Arlo dropped his bag in the car booth and got into the front seat with the same cold attitude. Logan smirked to himself as he got into the driver’s seat.
“How was your trip?” Logan inquired. No response. “I just asked you a question Arlo.” He growled again. Seeing that Arlo is refusing to act matured like he had expected him to made Logan park the car on the side of the road. “Get out! Get the fuck out of my car!”
Taking a deep breath, Arlo got off the car with his arms folded and Logan cursed silently as he also stepped out and held his waist with both hands. No one can get him riled up as much as Arlo does.
“Can you give me one good reason why you are refusing to talk to me?”
Arlo shrugged nonchalantly. “Just because I don’t want to. I don’t think I am obligated to respond to you just because you want me to.”
“I am your Alpha and you are obligated to me!”
“Stop trying to boss over me uncle Logan. You did me wrong and your ego won’t make you apologize and I get the message. Can we go now? I am jet lagged.”
Logan slapped his forehead in annoyance. “Why in the world would you go against me for a mere girl? I taught you better than that!”
“That is the problem uncle. I am not you or uncle Kyrian. You both think love is non-existent and that’s fine by me but you won’t shove your crazy principles down my throat. Jovy was the girl I wanted, she is sweet, loving and beautiful. Everything else I desire is what she has but then you swept her away like a flood would do to an unexacting victim!”
“She desired me!”
“No, you bullied her into submission!”
“So? What if I did then? Didn’t you sleep with anyone else since your so called heartbreak? Aren’t there other girls like her? Why do you have a problem with me being with her?”
“Because if she was indeed happy I would be super joyous for her. But it’s you uncle, you don’t care about anyone’s feelings. I don’t expect you to since you don’t have a heart either.”
Logan seethed his teeth while glaring hard at him. It pissed him off so much that Arlo seem to have grown a whole lot of nerve to talk to him whichever way he pleases.
“Don’t test me Arlo.”
Arlo scoffed. “Why are you sounding like I just labeled you wrongly? It’s the truth about you uncle so you shouldn’t be bothered or pained. The last time I checked you derive joy in being tagged as a bully. Anyways, that is all gone now and I am not back here to keep a feud with you. It was nice talking about this.”
Logan raised his brows. “What do you mean?”
Arlo heaved a sigh of frustration as he stood two feet away from him. “It’s of no use discussing it with you any longer since you already slept with her to your satisfaction. I just hope she heals up wherever she is and finds the love she deserves. As for me I just want to head back to school and have fun. Also I have kinda missed you.” He finally grinned.
“What was this all about then?”
“I just wanted to say exactly how I feel.”
Logan snorted. “Let me guess, you feel better after this?”
“I feel great!” Arlo mused.
“You are one silly kid.”
“Come on uncle, let’s go home. I have missed here so much.”
Logan cleared his throat deeply just as they returned to the car and about to open the door. “Actually there is something else you need to know.” He didn’t want to tell but somehow he feels obligated to Arlo’s feelings. This is what happens when you practically raise a person from the moment they were born.
“What’s that?” Arlo asked eagerly.
“I made Jovy my Luna.” Logan responded.
