Chapter 63 A warning
MIDNIGHT PACK: FINLAY’S HOME
Ava fumed as she watched her daughter heaving slowly on the couch she stretched out on. “What the hell did that sneaky bitch do to you?!” She screamed.
Amelia tried to sit up as she held onto her belly even when she feels no hurt there. “Calm your nerves mom, I have had the school authorities handle them.”
Ava ran a hand through her hair. “I can’t believe that slimy bitch Jovy would join hands to beat you up!”
Amelia rolled her eyes and let out a snort. “Well it’s not news that Jovy doesn’t like me one bit.”
Ava sat her butt down on the couch and she tapped her legs on the floor impatiently. So many things angered her, to think that Anna’s daughter was gutted enough to lay a hand on her Amelia and that spineless wolf called Jovy who would never have said a word to her even if she was being beaten to death also got herself involved. It felt unreal that any of them would dare her. Ava was obsessed over her daughter so much that she couldn’t help a single finger touching her or any harm being done to her.
Ava stood up abruptly, went to her room to grab her hand bag and she returned back to the living room. She walked to Amelia, soothed out her curls and pecked her daughter’s forehead.
“Tessa is home to look after you baby. I need to get to somewhere.”
Nodding her head absentmindedly, Amelia turned her back towards her mom and buried her face in the couch like someone in pain. “Ok mom.” She replied in a muffled tone.
“Ok baby. Mummy loves you, I would be back soon.” Heading out of the house, she got into the Benz Suv that Tommy enjoyed taking out so much. She trusted Tessa who served as their help to look after her daughter while she was away.
Her first thought was to visit Tommy and inform him of the arrival of his prodigal daughter and also think quickly on the means to get rid of her. But going there first would have had her anger simmer down. Instead she placed a call to him while driving and Tommy didn’t pick up until the third ring. She was becoming more irritated by the passing second.
“Hello.’ His voice sounded shaky as he breathed into the phone.
‘Is everything okay?’ Ava asked, wondering if he was sick.
There was slight pause with Tommy exhaling before giving his reply. ‘It’s all good. I just had too much on my mind.’ The voice was rough. Ava couldn’t place the reason why he sounded that way when it was just almost noon but that didn’t matter at the moment.
‘What’s going on?’ He asked again.
‘Jovy is back.’
She could feel him jolt up from his seat. ‘Really?’
‘Yes and I hope you would put a leash on that dog of yours!’ Ava spat bitterly.
‘What are you talking about?’
‘She has been back for sometime but has been hiding herself at her friend’s house to assault my daughter!’
‘Take a deep breath Ava. What do you mean?’
‘Jovy and that bitchy friend of hers ganged up against Amelia in school.’
‘What! How is Amelia?’ He exclaimed.
‘Not good but she is at home. I only called to let you know that I would murder that witch myself.’ She didn’t wait for him to respond before hanging up the call.
Her pent up anger only spread more like wildfire as she drove in to the premises of Anna Clark’s company. Anna manages a very successful advertising agency. It is one of the more reasons Ava gets irritated at the mere mention of her name. Getting down from the car, Ava made her way towards the entrance up to Anna’s office. She would have never known Anna owned the place if she hadn’t been on a pack assignment and they needed the help of the AD agency. That day had been a total block out, as Ava had refused to do anything called business with Anna. The feeling was mutual.
This time around she was walking in intentionally in order to send in a great warning. Ava hoped for the sake of Anna and her daughter she would listen to what she has to say.
“Good morning ma’am, how can I help you?” The bright secretary with an infectious smile said to her.
“Is Mrs Anna Clark in?” Ava retorted in a cold voice.
Not affected by her disrespect the secretary asked. “Do you have an appointment with her?”
“I don’t need to, just mention it to her that Ava Finlay is here to see her.” Ava said with a raised brow.
The secretary watched her with a leveled glance, trying not to appear rude. After what seem like a stare contest that lasted for a few long seconds, she said. “Wait right here ma’am. Let me ask if she wouldn’t mind fixing you into her schedule.” She stood up and headed towards Anna’s office.
Ava let out a light gasp, that was an indirect insult obviously but she would keep her cool and not let that stop her from achieving her proposed aim.
The secretary came out with a thinned lip and she didn’t look a bit impressed. “She said you can come in.”
The victorious look on Ava’s face made the secretary let out a small scoff. Raising her shoulders high, she walked towards the office door not bothering to knock as she went straight in.
Anna Clark sat up straight in her chair with a blank look on her face and her hands clamped together placed on the table. “To what do I owe this visit from your honorable self Ava?” Anna’s voice bounced through the four corners of the room with her eyes taunting.
Ava kissed her teeth, the mere sight of Anna felt repulsive for her. She still looked as beautiful as ever with her dark wavy hair and pointed nose that made her look Asian. Her olive eyes was a rare find. She hated the two people who had tried to be her friends and had always wanted what they had. Elena and Anna were like a thorn in the flesh for her because everything she struggled to have they got at the snap of their fingers. It only made her deep in hatred for them and it still hasn’t panned out over the years. Being face to face with one of the friends looking alive and well stared up some sort of darkness inside her.
“You should know the last thing I want to do is be here.” Ava bit back with the same spitefulness.
Anna eyed her from top to bottom, she still wasn’t different from the Ava she had known years ago. What one would never seem to understand about her was why she harbored so much hate inside of her and couldn’t call it quits with the demon living in her all these years. She looked better than Anna had last seen her. Tommy must really be doing a good job at taking care of her. So many regrets of why she and Elena had been so accommodating of such selfish being made her guard herself ceaselessly from being too kind to people.
Anna let out a long sigh as she was tired of Ava’s presence hovering in her office. “Can you get down with what you have to say? I have a busy day ahead.”
Ava looked livid like she had some curt response to give, instead she went straight to what had brought her around exactly. “I have come here to warn you.” Ava seethed her in anger.
