Chapter 58 His waywardness
MIDNIGHT PACK
Henry slapped his hands very hard against the steering wheel and cussed out loud. He should have known it was too good to be true. He had almost began obsessing over Amelia cause every sexual fantasies of his was satisfied by him.
Henry ran his hands through his hair as he gritted his teeth. Things was just fine between Anna, his wife and himself. As wayward as he might appear, Anna and his daughter Alice mean the world to him. He doesn’t mind bringing the whole world down to please them.
However, nothing seems to always go his way. The hurt on Alice’s face when Anna announced she was divorcing him made his heart shatter into pieces. He was definitely never going to forget the scene in a lifetime and it would be forever ingrained in his memory.
Just when he swerved into a corner, driving aimlessly with no destination in mind his phone rang. Staring at the phone screen, a mere glance of who the caller was made him boil harder.
“Why the hell is she calling me?” He spat angrily.
Fiona was the reason behind the derail in his family’s union. Even though it was partially his fault, but he still faults her for being so childish about the whole deal. Fiona had been hired as a live in maid, himself and Anna had just gotten some heads up in their different jobs and they hardly had enough time to care for Alice during the week. The maid stayed five days a week and went to her family by the weekend.
It was a perfect deal as no one bothered anyone and he handled his extra marital affairs deal outside of his home. Not until Anna had to go on a long business trip that would last two months. It turned out to be summer holiday also so they both decided to send Alice to Anna’s mother to spend time there while Anna was away. He had kicked against Anna’s suggestion of having Fiona stay back to help look after the house but she was insistent, saying it would put her mind at ease that her husband was being watched over.
Anna had so much trust in Fiona not knowing that would be the start of their feud. Henry had returned exhausted one night and a bit tipsy if not heavily. He had staggered towards Fiona’s room and one thing led to the other and he had sex with her.
The next morning had been hazy. Henry remembered how the night had went clearly. And it seem like Fiona enjoyed every bit of it as it became a daily dose for the both of them. She made him go wild. Fiona had a kind of super grinding ability that makes not just him but his wolf growl in utmost pleasure.
It became a regular thing and he practically couldn’t get enough of her. Even when Anna returned, they had a meeting spot. It would have continued for a long while if Fiona didn’t grow so greedy and got pregnant. Henry pleaded for her to get rid of it, but she was insistent on keeping the child and threatened to expose him to Anna. He had took it as a joke, not until he got back from work to find Anna raving mad. Not only did Fiona make an actual video confession but she sent in all of their discussions.
Henry wanted to snuff life out of Fiona, but he didn’t want to commit murder and be sent to jail. Eventually after almost a year, his marriage got back into shape but it was obvious Anna walked on egg shells around him. Since Fiona refused to get rid of the baby, he had to arrange her settlement somewhere a bit far from him and his family. Things didn’t look good to him, until he saw his child the day he was born.
Carmen was the most beautiful baby he had ever seen. Anna had refused to acknowledge her husband’s son even when he had announced the good news to her. Henry decided to keep them away from each other and most importantly for Alice’s sanity. Having another child made him so happy and the fact that it was a boy. Henry didn’t realize how much he craved for another child until Carmen came along. After Alice’s birth Anna had been told to not try any means to conceive if she wanted to live. The love he has for his wife is greater than his own interests and they had settled with dotting on Alice.
Henry let out a long sigh as he went down the memory lane. He had zoned out so much and he had almost forgotten that his phone was still ringing. He hated Fiona’s inability to reason on the possibility of him being busy with the way she calls consistently.
‘What the hell woman?! Do you lack courtesy that much?’ He blurted.
Fiona scoffed, obviously not affected by whatever it was he had to say. ‘Why haven’t you been picking your calls? It has been three fucking days, Henry!’
Another thing he forgot to mention was how rude and uncultured she was. ‘Damn you Fiona! It is my fucking phone and I would do whatever it is I want with it! You should be the one to keep to your bloody lane!’
‘You are an asshole! I do hope Anna is well aware of that. You don’t even deserve to be with such kind lady!’
Henry felt the urge to snort loudly cause he had never met a person as dramatic as Fiona was. Their bantering fit wasn’t new, as it had become an occasional routine when they talk.
‘You amuse me every time. Stop chasing clout and act like you care about Anna! If you did you wouldn’t have comfortably enjoyed my dick!’ He jested.
‘You maniac! Do you ever listen to yourself?’
‘Shut the fuck up already! You are boring me the hell out. Why did you call me?’
Fiona went silent, after counting about twenty seconds. Henry was about to lose it. ‘If you don’t say something right this minute, trust me to hang up right now!’ He threatened, meaning every word.
After a long while, she breathed into the receiver. ‘Carmen got into an accident and he broke his arm.’
Henry chortled. ‘You are a crazy bitch. You ain’t getting no dime from me!’
‘I am not joking!’
‘Do I sound like a joke to you either ways?’
‘This is for real this time. I promise…Henry…our son is in actual danger.’
Henry was never going to believe her and that was a fact. Fiona had turned up greedier than expected. If he hadn’t carried out a DNA to affirm Carmen was his, he would have doubted the boy being his. After putting to bed, Fiona somehow made up her mind to not work for money and resulted into extortion. She calls him at every inconvenience and lying about Carmen being in danger. Her lie had been exposed when she had unintentionally uploaded herself on Instagram showing off her banging body at a resort and living her best life with his money. He had promised himself since then to never fall for her charade.
‘Please understand me, Henry. He needs urgent surgery.’ Her voice sounded broken.
‘I still don’t believe you.’ Henry insisted.
His phone message notification came on and he almost rammed into the car in front of him when he saw a picture of Carmen looking like he had only few minutes left to live. A part of the little boy was wrapped up in bandages.
‘Send me the hospital address right now!’
Henry disconnected the call. The hospital’s address message entered in few seconds. Reversing his car, he charged into the road forgetting all about the mess he was in. What mattered to him at that point was saving his child’s life.
